How to make a plasticine cake?
One of the more popular toy products is cake. It can be molded from plasticine. The sculpting process is equally interesting for both children and adults, since you can show your imagination and decorate the figurine as you want. To create different options for cakes, you will need not only a set of plasticine, but also other devices.
Modeling an ordinary figurine
To create a cake from ordinary classic plasticine, you need to prepare a set consisting of materials of different colors, as well as additional accessories:
- a modeling board;
- a toothpick;
- plastic knife;
- rhinestones or beads.
Let's look at the step-by-step process of creating a figurine. It is noteworthy that you will have to use almost all the colors available in the set. Making a plasticine cake with your own hands is very simple. You should start with the biscuit cakes. There are two options here: you can use yellow or brown plasticine (if the cake is supposed to be made chocolate). A piece of plasticine of the selected color must be divided into two equal parts. Each of them must initially be turned into a ball, and then flattened a little.
The two received parts need to be set aside for now. Next, you need to take plasticine of any contrasting color and separate half from the whole bar, which needs to be kneaded and turned into a ball. Then it also needs to be flattened. In shape and diameter, it should be equal to the previous two. This will be the filling, so you need to put it between two biscuits and fix all three parts well. As a result, the base should be as shown in Figure 1.
The main part of the cake is ready, so you can move on to the decor. To begin with, take red plasticine and separate 10 equal parts from the common piece, not particularly large in size. We knead them well and make balls of approximately the same size - these will be cherries. We place them along the edges of the cake.
Next, we'll use a toothpick. Using this tool, it is necessary to make punctures shallowly and chaotically along the side parts of the cake - this is also an element of decor. Then, using beads and rhinestones, we will decorate the central part (inside the circle of cherries).
There may be several options here - it all depends on imagination.
How to make a cake with a flower?
The traditional decoration for real cakes and pastries is flowers made from cream or cream. The same can be done with toy cakes - decorate with plasticine flowers. To create such a figure, you only need a set of plasticine, a modeling board, and a plastic knife.
The creation of a biscuit and cream layer is no different from the previous option. The color of the plasticine depends on personal desire. An interesting point here is the design of the decor. Let's take a closer look at creating a flower and accompanying decorations step by step. You need to take red plasticine and separate 6 identical small pieces from it. Form balls of them, and then draw them out and create petals.
Place the resulting petals in a circle on the top of the cake. Form a ball from yellow plasticine, flatten it a little and place it in the central part of the flower being created. We will also form 5 petals from green plasticine and place them in the free space between the petals. If you make the flowers smaller, then a whole bouquet will be placed on the surface of one cake.
If you wish, you can additionally sprinkle the cake with multi-colored beads. As a result, the final version should look as shown in Figure 2. In this case, the color and decor may differ.
Useful Tips
It is not difficult to sculpt cakes from plasticine, but at the same time, some nuances must be taken into account in the process. When working with ordinary plasticine, there are several important points:
- you need to work only with well-mashed plasticine, since it is quite difficult for a rigid one to give the desired shape;
- for sculpting cakes, it is better to choose plasticine of bright shades, the classic Soviet one will not be entirely appropriate;
- for better adhesion of the pieces of cake, it can be placed in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
If you work with modern Play-Doh plasticine, it is better to use special molds from the same manufacturer. With the help of these forms, you can mold a biscuit, and there are pastry syringes for decoration. With the help of such devices, the cakes will turn out beautiful and original.
