Making a vase from plasticine

Modern kids have a huge number of purchased toys at home, but they are happy to supplement them with handmade crafts. This article will discuss how to make a vase from plasticine and how to decorate it.

Modeling figures and toys from plasticine is one of the favorite activities for children. They will gladly take up the work of making a vase, especially if adults help them in this.

In order to mold a vase from plasticine, you will need the following materials:

• a set of plasticine;
• stack, a special knife for sculpting;
• tassel with a rounded top;
• modeling board.

By performing certain actions in stages, you can easily build a beautiful vase.

• You need to take a set of plasticine, choose from it two strips of the same color, for example, brown. A vase made of brown mass will resemble a clay product.
• The selected pieces are combined and kneaded until soft.
• From the resulting mass, first a ball is rolled, and then a spindle-shaped oval. The middle part of the workpiece is pushed through with your fingers, making a constriction in this place.
• Now the product is placed vertically and given the required shape.
• Use the top and bottom to shape the vase. The bottom roundness will be used as a base for the craft. After pressing it against the board, a stable bottom is obtained. Then they continue to work on the formation of the neck. Its edges are flattened and pulled up. The middle is pressed inward until a cavity is formed
• The neck can be left straight or wavy by modeling its edges with a knife. The surface of the vase is carefully smoothed out and proceeds to the decorative part.

To form flowers:

• take pieces of white plasticine, roll small balls out of them;
• stick on 4-5 balls together;
• pressing them with the rounded part of the brush, make petals;
• attach the stems;
• a white tourniquet is glued to the edge of the neck.

A plasticine vase looks beautiful, but it is fragile and can only be used for play. To create a product in which you can put fresh flowers, you need to reinforce it with an inner frame. As such, you can use plastic bottles and jars, glass jars are also suitable.

Let's analyze the necessary steps for making a simple multi-colored craft.

• It is necessary to take a set of ordinary plasticine, then select the brightest colors without mixing them. Knead the plasticine, making it soft. Roll the individual colors into thin cords.
• Then you should take a prepared dry plastic bottle. It is necessary to carefully stick the resulting cords on it.
• Work begins from the bottom of the vessel, moving up, alternating plasticine of different colors. The last ring is attached to the edge of the bottle neck.

In order to fashion a more perfect and complex vase with your own hands, you need the following materials:

• plastic bottle;
• air plasticine;
• stack, plastic knife;
• modeling board;
• toothpaste or flour;
• brushes and gouache;
• hair fixation spray.

The work algorithm includes several steps.

• They take air plasticine, roll it into a large thin pancake, in the center of which they put the bottom of the bottle. The edges of the plasticine are lifted and glued to the walls of the vessel. The rest of the bottle is sealed with other pieces of mass.
• The surface of the resulting workpiece is rolled out on a board and carefully smoothed. After that, it is left to dry.
• After hardening, it is better to prime the surface of the future vase with white toothpaste, covering it with a thin layer. They also use diluted flour with water, applying it with a brush to the walls of the vessel.
• The primed product is dried, and then painted with paint, gouache or felt-tip pen, varnished.

A wide variety of materials are used as the basis for the vase.

• Disposable plastic cups. Even simple cups in skillful hands can be an excellent material for creating crafts.
• Cups. An ordinary cup can be made exclusive by covering it with a bright ball of plasticine and applying a beautiful pattern.
• Glasses. A brightly decorated plain glass will make a noticeable decoration.

A voluminous vase of flowers made of plasticine looks very nice.

It is done like this:

• you need to take a piece of plasticine, for example, dark gray, and knead it thoroughly;
• first form a ball from the crushed material, and then an oval;
• form a neck by pulling out the top and flattening it starting from the middle;
• press in the middle of the neck so that a cavity is formed;
• form a flat bottom on the bottom of the workpiece.

The shape of the vase is corrected and the outer walls are smoothed out.They begin to decorate the finished product by placing a bouquet of calla lilies, roses and cornflowers in a vase. To make calla lilies, you need:

• take white plasticine and pinch off small pieces;
• mold a thin triangle from each piece, wrapping its lower corners inward;
• glue a yellow ball inside the flower, and attach a green stalk and leaves from below.

To form a pink bud, plasticine of bright shades is used - this will add color to the finished product.

• To create buds, they take pieces of a bright color and flatten them into thin long strips, then twist them inward. The resulting curl is very much like a rose, especially if its outer folds are slightly bent, imitating petals.
• Green mass is used to form leaves and stems. Having rolled out the flagellum, they make a stem, the leaves are obtained from flattened balls.

Plasticine can be used not only for sculpting, but also for creating a pattern. Such a drawing is called paper appliqué. To do this work, in addition to plasticine with accessories, you will need a thick sheet of paper.

The applique is created in stages.

• Take a clean, thick sheet of paper. It can be colored or white. Its choice depends on the intended composition.
• A drawing of the future image is made on a sheet with a simple pencil. In this case, it will be a vase of flowers.
• The necessary colors are selected from a set of ordinary plasticine and kneaded. Thin flagella are formed from them.
• Alternating colors, the flagella are alternately glued to the paper in the right place. The excess length is cut off with a knife.
• The modeling of the vase ends after fixing the last piece of plasticine on the edge of the neck.
• Flowers should be placed in the finished container. They are made from a mass of bright colors. Having chosen the necessary colors, they are kneaded and rolled on a board into thin threads. The edge of the thread is attached to the center of the drawn flower, then it is twisted in a spiral to obtain petals.
• Now stems and leaves are made from green plasticine, fixing them on paper in accordance with the drawing.

To make a vase beautiful, you need to skillfully decorate it.

This can be done in different ways.

• Paint with gouache, paints or felt-tip pens. To do this, a vase made of ordinary plasticine is degreased with starch. Then the surface is covered with PVA glue, and after drying, it is primed with white emulsion paint. Now you can apply any pattern with the original color to the walls of the vase.
• You can stick beads or beautiful beads on the surface, which will add originality to the product.
• The felt-tip pen cap is suitable for applying a pattern in the form of rounds.
• Using a stack, you can apply a simple relief, or create a complex image.

And also to decorate products, you can use cereals and various seeds.

The craft can be inlaid with semolina, or make inscriptions from it. A vase covered with beans of different colors will have a beautiful glossy surface.

A craft decorated with multi-colored pebbles will look harsh and strict. She will become beautiful, individual and unique.
