Many people are familiar with comics and films about the iron man: both adults and children. The latter are especially impressed by this hero. In this article, we will tell you how, together with your child, you can make a plasticine figurine of an iron man with your own hands.

What is necessary?

To mold an iron man from plasticine, you need plasticine bars in three colors: red, white and yellow. Moreover, much more red is needed than yellow, therefore we recommend preparing two bars of this color at once. Very little white plasticine is required. You will also need a separate board on which you can sculpt the figurine. Plexiglas, plastic, plywood, cardboard or ordinary oilcloth are perfect as it. For working with plasticine, it is also recommended to stock up on napkins to wipe your hands while working.

Also, you will need a stack. With its help, you can make the figurine more realistic and detailed. And it is also needed in order to cut out individual sections and microcircuits on an iron man suit.

Step-by-step instruction

Modeling an iron man is not particularly difficult, but everything must be done in stages. First of all, we blind our heads. To do this, you need to cut off a piece from the red plasticine bar and roll an oval out of it. Next, you need to cut off a smaller piece of yellow plasticine, roll an oval out of it and flatten it to make a small cake.

After that, the resulting yellow part should be fastened with a red oval. However, before that, it needs to be given a diamond shape, which can be done with a stack.Next, using the same tool, you need to cut out a square mouth and eye slits, into which you will need to insert small rolled and flattened pieces of white plasticine. On the sides of the head, you will also need to cut out round pieces.

Now let's move on to sculpting the body. For it, you need a piece of red plasticine, which you need to roll out well and give it the shape of a trapezoid. After that, with the help of a stack, diamond-shaped stripes are cut into the parts.

An LED must be attached to the very center of the body, which must be made from a piece of white plasticine. In the lower part of the body, you need to make a small rectangular notch, where the rest of the figure will be attached.

Next, we sculpt the hands of an iron man. To do this, you need to roll two identical balls from two equal-sized pieces of red plasticine. They must be continued with two yellow plasticine squares. After that, it is necessary to mold the forearm and hand from red plasticine.

Both hands must be attached to the body of the iron man, after which stripes should be cut out on them to make the costume more detailed and realistic.

After that, we move on to sculpting the hero's waist zone. This should be done from red plasticine. Roll the small trapezoid shape and attach it to the top. Now we make legs. To do this, you need red and yellow plasticine.

It is necessary to roll the upper, calf part from yellow plasticine. The rest of the leg, including the feet, is molded from red. After that, all the necessary details on this part of the figure are cut out using a stack. Iron Man is almost ready. It remains only to well fasten all its components into a single whole.

Useful Tips

To make the modeling process easy, the clay should be well warmed up and kneaded in the palms before starting work. In addition, for this, you can also put it on a battery or hold it for a while under a stream of warm water. At the same time, keep in mind that it is best to use fresh plasticine for modeling with your child. Working with stale material will be less pleasant and much more difficult, since it kneads less well and is less pliable and elastic, especially when it comes to children's fingers.

Before playing with the resulting figure, it must be placed in the refrigerator for an hour or more to make it stronger. To make the toy more reliable and not break during the game, the parts can be fastened to each other using matches or toothpicks. If there is a desire to make the toy more interesting for the child, it can be made on the basis of thin wire. In this case, as a result, you can get a real plasticine transformer that can move your arms and legs, as well as twist your head.

At the end of the sculpting, hands must be well wiped with a napkin, and then washed with warm water and soap.
