Handicrafts can be a very attractive hobby for both adults and children. There are many options for making them with your own hands at home. Also noteworthy are autumn compositions for school, and children's useful crafts from scrap materials.

What to make of newspapers?

Prints, whatever may be said about their disappearance, are constantly accumulating in many homes. It is not always possible to throw them away, use them to store various dirty things and in similar cases. However, it is quite possible to make various unusual crafts out of them. For example, an imitation of a wall clock. For work, you need to take 20-30 sheets of magazines or newspapers - better with a margin.

Wrapping the tubes will be greatly simplified with a pencil or pen. You can even take non-writing accessories without a core - this will not play a role. Additionally, it is worth stocking up:

  • stationery scissors;
  • scotch tape;
  • long needle;
  • a spool of thread;
  • a pair of plastic discs (those used in DVD boxes for protection from the sun) or cardboard of any color;
  • round ordinary cardboard with a hole in the center.

Continuing the analysis of decorative figures from newspapers, we should also mention beautiful butterflies. To get an image of this insect, you need an appropriate stencil. The size and geometry of the animals created do not play a special role. By attaching a stencil to a pack of sheets, you can quickly get several copies at once. By applying layers of double tape, it is easy to "make" them fly at different levels.

You can also make with the help of newspapers:

  • decorative chain;
  • external design of a nondescript suitcase;
  • imitation of a bouquet of roses;
  • cart.

It is worth dwelling on the last product in more detail. Any newspaper is cut into 20 identical strips. The width should be about 75 mm. All strips are folded in half lengthwise three times. Further it is necessary:

  • tie a basket of 10 vertical and the same number of horizontal stripes;
  • strengthen the base by stretching the jute around the perimeter of the resulting square;
  • weave the basket up, starting from one section - preferably from the center;
  • tie all sides, as necessary, strengthen with a stapler;
  • gently bend the protruding edges into the vase.

If we talk about useful handicrafts from newspapers, then it is worth mentioning more:

  • decoupage for walls and furniture;
  • birdcage pallets;
  • bags for seeds and nuts;
  • replacing the wrapping paper;
  • fresheners for food containers.

Interesting crafts from knitwear

The house will be cozy and comfortable if you decorate it with textile decor. A very good creative solution is a traditional tablecloth. It can be embroidered or decorated in any other way. These tablecloths and napkins fit perfectly into traditional and rural interior options. Vintage and eco-friendly design approaches also allow for a similar option.

Describing simple and at the same time elegant solutions, it is worth mentioning the frames of candlesticks and decorative vases. The shabby-chic cotton lampshade will look elegant. Important: despite the importance of lamps for the comfort of the interior, you have to be careful.

Their fabric parts must be designed in such a way that the risk of ignition is minimized, ideally zero.

But, in addition, there are many attractive options for decorating a home - so don't be upset. Heating pads and potholders for teapots help to improve the atmosphere in the kitchen.

Coasters for dishes are also good there. Homemade pillows and rugs are recommended in bedrooms and guest rooms. Crafts from scraps will be especially attractive there.

For lovers of needlework who want to diversify their activities, a knitted patchwork can be an excellent choice. But even on it, the variety of decoration methods is far from complete. They are selected, again, taking into account the desired style. Some options fit perfectly into the most modern interior compositions.

If you have sewing skills, it is quite possible to transform old clothes into:

  • sofas for pets;
  • hallway rugs;
  • pillowcases;
  • covers for flower and other ceramic pots.

Knitwear remade in the Irish lace format is very difficult to obtain. But this is just a challenge that can be answered with due diligence. If homemade wardrobe replenishment is not required, there are other ideas worth taking, such as:

  • covers for rubber heating pads;
  • covers for electronic gadgets;
  • potholders;
  • coasters for cups and saucers;
  • bags-poufs;
  • decorative toys;
  • original gift wrapping.

Making figurines from plastic bottles

Flowers

Crafts of this kind are quite affordable even for preschool children. They are suitable for introducing kids to needlework in general. What is important, plastic flowers will be a good gift and will decorate any room. They will be able to be used for the kitchen, because there ordinary flowers will deteriorate by the conditions themselves. A similar craft for the garden is created using:

  • copper cable (covered with brown or green insulation);
  • pliers;
  • scissors;
  • sewed;
  • tools for melting plastic.

It is very good if flowers are made from 5 liter or even larger bottles. The procedure is as follows:

  • cut off the required number of bottoms;
  • petals are cut along clearly visible lines;
  • thin stripes are cut off from all petals;
  • fold these stripes inward;
  • correct the shape of the petals;
  • apply acrylic paint;
  • if necessary, connect the workpieces using a wire.

Layered flowers are also a good solution. True, working with them is difficult - but exciting. The scheme is as follows:

  • draw flowers on the surface of the container;
  • cut them out;
  • bend the petals in a certain direction;
  • petals clamped with tweezers are held over a candle light;
  • if desired, paint a decorative item.

A good option is a plastic dandelion. The bottle needs to be sliced. Then, small holes are prepared in all the details, where the paper clip is threaded. For 1 flower, 8 parts of different sizes are used. Then they connect the middle with the smallest detail, prepare the sepals, collect the blanks, form and attach the stem.

Animals

Such decorative products are considered relatively simple and affordable even for novice DIY enthusiasts. But we must remember that the exact composition of the components varies depending on the specific animal that is to be imitated.... Therefore, it is necessary to carefully study the descriptions, get acquainted with photographs and videos on the topic. However, well-known and stereotyped images can be prepared from memory. The size of the bottle also needs to be selected: a half-liter container will allow you to make a frog, but it is hardly suitable for a craft that imitates a moose, bear or elephant.

An attractive piglet is made from a bottle, from which the handles and rims are removed. Then they make a mark with a marker. According to this mark, an oblong-shaped hole is made, it turns out almost from the bottom to the throat. A wider hole is made higher, but from the opposite side.

The trimmings are used to craft the tail and ears; then the pig is painted in natural color and varnished.

A luxurious baby elephant is made from a pair of six-liter and 6 two-liter bottles. Four small containers are cut into two pieces across. The bottom is turned into legs. A large bottle is used to get the ears. They are attached to the second bottle, in which additional slots must be made.

Further:

  • bend the wire in the manner of a trunk;
  • put on a corrugated tube;
  • parts of the animal are painted in a natural gray color or in another color of their choice;
  • collect the composition.

Decor

Limiting ourselves to flowers and animals is hardly wise. There are many other - light and no less beautiful - household products made from plastic bottles. A very good option is graceful seedling pots or hanging feeders. Alternative options:

  • curtains on which the bottoms of the bottles are allowed;
  • solid part of the ottoman;
  • small curtains;
  • pendants;
  • chandeliers;
  • awnings;
  • decorative flowerpots for flowers;
  • homemade trees;
  • cascading vases for sweets;
  • piggy banks;
  • butterflies;
  • hanging gardens.

Additionally, it is worth considering options such as:

  • tubes for small items;
  • containers for bulk products (as well as for nuts, bolts, screws or self-tapping screws);
  • organizers for paper;
  • country lamps;
  • cups for cosmetics.

What to make from wooden pallets?

Reuse of such products is becoming an increasingly popular solution.... In the courtyard or for a plot in the country, you can make a vertical garden. Such a product will be a beautiful addition even for balconies and garages. However, you can use pallets in the gardening and otherwise - they make comfortable racks for work equipment. There is another great solution - a pleasant and harmonious outdoor sofa.

You get it like this:

  • stack pallets on top of each other;
  • attach them with self-tapping screws;
  • attach the back;
  • complement the blank with pillows;
  • if desired, put wheels or paint the structure.

Alternative solutions:

  • constructions for the playground;
  • bike racks;
  • bed frames;
  • armchairs;
  • garden paths;
  • fences (durable, fast, budget);
  • gazebos (this is more difficult, but the result is worth the effort);
  • dining and folding tables;
  • benches.

Even if all this is not enough, it is worth considering other options:

  • tool holder in a garage or workshop;
  • furniture for a small hallway;
  • country bed;
  • TV table;
  • ordinary room cabinet;
  • flooring on a flat surface.

More ideas

There may be many more thoughts on how to make crafts from improvised tools at home.... In a personal household, it is difficult to do without aprons and towels, without napkins and covers for chairs, armchairs and sofas. In order not to buy them, it is enough to do it yourself from old unnecessary clothes and linen. It is reasonable to use the fabric left over after sewing on such products. By varying the embroidery technology, it is possible to achieve a chic, varied result.

After major repairs, boards sometimes remain. Even some pieces of wood dismantled from the walls and floors are sometimes still very durable and can last more than one year. This is a great way to save money on buying a bookshelf or some sort of stand. You just have to grind and varnish the workpiece. And if you take old boards, attach fabric pockets to them, you get an excellent organizer for little things.

If this organizer idea is not to your liking, the design of cans is an alternative. They are either put on a stand or attached to each other. For your information: cans made of durable plastic perform just as well. In skillful hands, containers from under mayonnaise turn into pots. They are only glued together and fixed on twine; knitted flowers and ribbons are used for additional decoration.

Here are some more original ideas:

  • a housekeeper in the hallway based on wine or champagne corks (they are inserted into a typical photo frame);
  • thick crochet rug;
  • a house or a bed for a cat made of an old board (plywood).

Among all the materials for a painting on the theme of autumn, ordinary leaves are almost the best suited. The specific design and the degree of effort involved determine whether the decor is childish or a genuine piece of art. But the fall composition can be done even easier.

A silhouette-type painting is obtained by printing or drawing a black and white image, which is mounted on a contrasting background. The contrast with bright colors looks especially impressive. Crafts often have to be done for schoolchildren - and although there seem to be a lot of options, sometimes you need to puzzle over what to show. The main thing here is not to overreach.

When going to school for the first time, it is quite enough to reproduce the autumn motives. An attractive option is a herbarium; the choice of plants and their parts is entirely up to one's own taste. Gradually, by honing your aesthetic and practical skills, you can noticeably improve the crafts. So, acorns with caps make a good "tea set". Fastening it to a sheet of cardboard is provided with PVA glue.

In the lower grades of school, characters from Smeshariki and other cartoons will become another excellent idea for crafts. If special durability is not needed, cartoon characters are simply cut out of vegetables.

To prepare for exhibitions, of course, you will have to work out your plan more carefully and scrupulously implement it. Match paintings, colored paper crafts and appliques must also meet these requirements. You can make from paper:

  • Indian;
  • knight;
  • little girl;
  • octopus.

But you shouldn't discount various beads either. Children 4–5 years old are already capable of making such a craft. A great option is the assembly from pasta. They are painted with food dyes or nail varnish.

It is impractical to use gouache, watercolors and other paints, as they will leave stains everywhere.

It is possible to assemble the structure only after thorough drying. All this time, the pasta should lie on a board or plywood (since it is almost impossible to peel them whole from the paper).The connection of the parts of the beads is made with any strong thread that is available. Other options for beads:

  • from berries;
  • from nuts;
  • from drilled stones;
  • from acorns;
  • from chestnuts;
  • from peas or beans.

Another interesting craft is a cardboard tank... It is necessary to immediately decide whether it will be rigidly fixed or will ride. In the second method, the wheels are attached to moving axles. Important: when working, it is worth using drawings marked with dimensions. Ballpoint pens, markers and felt-tip pens are used as the barrel of the gun. The hardest part is to shape the chassis. We'll have to cut the mugs out of rubber and cardboard. It is necessary to understand that everything may not work out right away, and this is completely normal. The angular box is made lighter than other parts. Recommendation: enthusiastic people should not just prepare a stylized combat vehicle, but reproduce a specific model, even from among the rare and little-known samples to non-specialists.

But not everyone is fond of the military theme, and it is also useful to diversify the plots. A dog figurine will definitely be an attractive choice. Even pine cones are suitable for making it. The missing parts are made of plasticine or colored paper. You can mark the eyes and nose with buttons, beads; the possibilities are limited only by imagination. A doggie is easy to make from a plastic bottle. In this case, the plug is retained, which will replace the nose. This detail is painted in an authentic black tone. The ears and tail are made either from cardboard or from textiles.

The figurine is either decorated with waterproof paints, or placed only in closed rooms.

Handicraft lovers often create various insects as well: mainly dragonflies, bees, butterflies and beetles. Beautiful cardboard and paper butterflies are not the only option. Original and graceful winged ones can be obtained using the origami method, from chenille wire. Origami butterflies are performed in dozens of ways, sharply differing in complexity. Alternatively, you can make more:

  • caterpillars;
  • ladybirds;
  • wasps;
  • ants.

By its grace, however, an ordinary tree will be no less attractive option. It can be made relatively easily by the beading method. Wire is usually used as a frame. Bending the wire in different directions enhances the authenticity of the craft.

Another excellent option is green plasticine modeling; such art is available even to young children.

It will be possible to make a craft machine both from a plastic bottle and from matchboxes. Even a toilet paper sleeve is useful as a frame. When using boxes, you will have to glue the parts together. The prototypes are numerous: you can imitate buses and fire trucks, dump trucks and cars, racing cars and motorcycles.

If there is a desire to keep the children busy for quite a long time, you should offer them to sculpt a tiger - or not to sculpt, but to create it out of colored paper. The missing details are completed with felt-tip pens. Only very experienced craftsmen can completely make a tiger figure using the origami method. But making a muzzle with a similar method is much easier.

To complete the description of common craft options is on products with a marine theme... They use shells and pebbles, paper and other materials. A very original and bold move is the formation of a stained glass window. It will take more than one hour, and possibly more than one day. But the result will bring pleasure even after years. An easier choice is a seashell photo frame. They are also often decorated with flower vases and clocks. If there are a lot of shells, they will even be able to lay out a picture with a rather complex plot. Other options:

  • sailboats;
  • pirates;
  • Marine life;
  • independently prepared landscape drawings;
  • applications.

In the next video, you will find five DIY CD DIY ideas.
