Autumn time opens up endless possibilities for creativity and needlework. One of the most popular materials for creating crafts with children is maple seeds, which resemble helicopters.

Making figurines

Surely as a child you loved to launch maple seed lionfish from a height. But few people knew that all kinds of crafts could be made from helicopters. They are used for appliqués and volumetric figures, they are good for bird feathers, lion's mane and even hair that frames a woman's face.

Animals

Lions are very spectacular from lionfish. To work you will need:

  • dried maple seeds;

  • thick cardboard;

  • glue;

  • scissors;

  • colored paper;

  • felt-tip pens or pencils.

The work itself is not very difficult.

To begin with, using patterns from colored paper, you need to cut out all the basic elements of the blank required for the applique.

After that, they shape the head - they glue or draw eyes, eyebrows and a nose. All blanks (head, torso, legs, back and tail) are glued onto thick cardboard.

After that, you can proceed to the design of your funny lion cub's mane. To do this, you need maple seeds - they are fixed on PVA glue. First, they make out the outer row. Then they move on to the second.

Three helicopters will go to the ponytail.

After that, it remains only to draw the antennae, paws and mouth. An interesting craft is ready.

From maple seeds you can make a real hedgehog and even a porcupine. For work, you will need cardboard, plasticine or silicone glue, as well as any decor in the form of fruits, berries and mushrooms.

The work is done in stages.

The outlines of a porcupine are drawn on a sheet of cardboard.Its face and legs are painted with pale pink paints, felt-tip pens or pencils.

The back is pasted over with a sculpting mass.

Moving from top to bottom, helicopters are fixed to the sticky base. In this case, each subsequent row should slightly cover the previous one.

Plastic mushrooms and berries are glued to the back designed in this way using hot glue.

After that, it remains only to draw an eye for your hedgehog, and instead of a spout, glue a plasticine ball or dried berry.

Birds

Maple seeds can be used to make a very effective owl. For this you will need:

  • maple helicopters;

  • ash fruits;

  • unnecessary newspapers;

  • threads;

  • wooden skewer;

  • any non-woven material;

  • wool for felting;

  • universal glue;

  • wire;

  • branch.

We offer a simple master class.

To begin with, you should crumple a ball and an oval from old unnecessary newspapers, fix the shape with threads. In order for these blanks to be connected to each other, you need a skewer; for better fixation, the joint of the blanks is additionally glued.

Next, you need to measure the wire that will be needed to create the wings: its length should be enough for a pair of wings and the width of the body. The wire is carefully inserted through the newspaper body. The base for the wing is cut from a non-woven fabric. The material is folded over and fixed with a stapler.

The wing is pasted over with helicopters starting from the edge and gradually moving to the middle. This work can be safely entrusted to children.

Feathers should be glued on both sides.

It is important that the first side is completely dry before you start decorating the other.

The second wing is designed in a similar way.

For the tail, you need to prepare 4 wire segments, fix triangles made of non-woven fabric on them.

Blanks for the tail are pasted over with maple lionfish from both sides from bottom to top.

To glue the tail to the body, you need to make a hole in the newspaper with an awl and place a wire in it, securing it with glue.

For the legs, you will need wire and wool for felting. If it is not at hand, then any dense thread or jute twine will do. The wire is bent and wrapped with thread or wool, after which it is glued to the body.

For greater convenience, the owl is turned upside down, they begin to paste over the body, starting from the back.

Thus, you can gradually cover the whole bird with helicopters. The main thing is not to rush, let each side dry thoroughly. The head of an owl is similarly pasted over.

A beak is formed from the walnut shell and tinted with paint. Next, you need ash seeds - they make eyes out of them in a circle, put anything in the middle (beans, large seeds or peas). You can even twist the wire glasses if you wish.

In addition to birds and animals, maple helicopters make good insects. The simplest craft is a dragonfly. To make it, you need corn kernels or peas. If there is nothing suitable in the house, then you can use ordinary plasticine.

The creation of a dragonfly begins with sculpting the body. It should have an oval oblong shape, it can be solid, or consist of blocks. Then everything is simple - helicopters are attached to the sides as wings. Eyes made of plasticine or grains are fixed on the head.

How to make plants?

Maple seeds can be used to make not only figures of animals and animals, but also plants.

Christmas tree

If in the autumn you prepare helicopters for future use, then on the eve of the New Year you can make an unusual Christmas tree out of them. In addition to seeds, you will need cardboard, varnish and green glitter, as well as glue, scissors and festive decor.

First, we will make the base of the future New Year's tree. To do this, you need to take cardboard, roll it into a cone, securing the ends with glue or a stapler. Then the workpiece is placed with its wide part on a sheet of cardboard and circled around the perimeter.Step back about an inch and draw another circle. A circle is cut out along it, and cuts are made towards the first line.

Using the cuts made, the bottom is glued to the cone. For the tree to stand, it needs a trunk. A bar of a thick branch or a plastic bottle cap can cope with this role. It is attached to hot melt glue.

Then you can move on to creating needles. To do this, maple helicopters are glued one by one to a paper cone, moving in a circle from the bottom up.

They should be attached with an overlap so that the fluffy part of the lionfish in the upper row overlaps the pointed elements of the underlying natural materials.

It is best to use Moment glue or hot melt glue for work. You need to fasten the seed with a pointed part; you do not need to grease the whole with glue. Thus, they paste over row by row, place a fluffy ball or a small star on top.

To make the tree truly beautiful and New Year's, the seeds are greased with acrylic varnish and generously sprinkled with green glitter. Such processing will not only give the tree a gloss, but also create additional fixation of the lionfish. If you don't have varnish, just mix glitter with PVA glue and coat the tree with this mixture. When the glue dries, it will become completely colorless, and the glitter will adhere firmly.

Cotton wool is wound around the tree, if desired, decorated with tinsel.

Flowers

Fluffy maple seeds will be an excellent base for creating a panel with flowers. Lionfish will play the role of petals, and millet or even plasticine is used as cores. Usually, such applications are complemented with curly branches, flowers and butterflies from dry leaves.

It is a good idea to create voluminous flowers. For work you need to prepare:

  • the seeds themselves;

  • cardboard;

  • plasticine;

  • hot melt glue;

  • branch.

The craft is performed step by step according to the instructions.

A circle with a diameter of 6-8 cm is cut out of a sheet of cardboard, plasticine is applied on it with a thin layer.

In the upper part of the future inflorescence, three fluffy maple seeds are vertically installed, and then 2-3 rows of seeds are laid horizontally around the circumference.

All empty space is filled with lionfish in the direction from the perimeter to the center.

With the help of hot glue, a thin branch is attached from below - it will act as a stalk.

If desired, you can attach paper or dried leaves to it.

Crafts on the theme "Autumn"

With the help of lionfish, you can build a lot of autumn crafts, for example, a tree. Even the youngest master can cope with such work.

A brown blank in the form of a trunk and branches is glued onto a sheet of thick cardboard.

Maple helicopters will act as leaves. To make the picture as realistic as possible, you can first paint them with yellow, red or orange paint. The leaves are fixed on the branches in a chaotic manner so that the pointed part is directed towards the branch.

Remember to add some leaves in the air, and pay special attention to the droppings near the bottom of the trunk. The autumn tree is ready.

More ideas

You can make toys from maple seeds with your own hands, for example, a helicopter. The work is simple and fun at the same time. It includes several steps.

First, with the help of plasticine, you need to fasten a small bump and a large walnut - they will play the role of the tail section and the helicopter cockpit.

On top of the walnut, using plasticine, screw blades are fixed - this maple lionfish.

Fix two small seeds on the cone - this will be the propeller.

Crafts for elementary school or kindergarten are ready. It remains only to mount the helicopter on a block of wood or plastic.
