It's no secret that small children spend their time at needlework with great pleasure. It is important for parents to make sure that the child uses only natural materials for work. It is safe and natural materials are readily available. For example, acorns, cones, pebbles, twigs. But do not forget about such materials as beans, peas, eggs. Eggshells are the most popular on this list. You can create a lot of crafts of varying complexity from it. It is she who is used by professional craftsmen and who recommend this material for work to children of all ages.

Material preparation

Eggs are a staple in every kitchen. They are used in the preparation of various dishes, from scrambled eggs to baked goods. Eggshells act as waste. Some process it into chalk and use it to raise the level of calcium in the body. Others are harvested for needlework.

It should be noted that this natural material was used by different peoples. Chinese craftsmen carved various decorative items from eggshells. Several of these handicrafts are still kept as historical exhibits in various museums around the world.

In the modern world, eggs are an important product. They are the ones that are painted and decorated for Easter. And the colored waste is subsequently used as a craft material, from which you can create beautiful paintings or decorate any object. Little fidgets, seeing an eggshell, immediately come up with various masterpieces, for example, gift toys.

However, waiting for Easter to get hold of the ornamental material is unreasonable. The child needs to be creative on a regular basis, therefore, eggshells should be at hand.

Sometimes, even when creating crafts from a different material, eggshells can be an excellent decorative addition. The main thing is to prepare it correctly.

To create a voluminous product, you need to take a raw egg, make two small holes in it and blow the yolk and white through one of them. Then the shell is washed with water. To strengthen the inside of the bulk base, pour a small amount of glue inside the shell, scroll the empty egg in your hand and set it aside until it dries completely.

The glue smears the inner walls of the egg, thereby strengthening them.

Crushed shells are required to create mosaics or paintings. Its preparation takes place according to a different principle. An empty egg is placed between newspaper sheets and crushed with a hammer or rolling pin. Next, the shell is cleaned of the film, after which it is washed under running water. Then the crushed shell is painted with acrylic paint.

What should the children do?

Kids love to craft eggshell crafts. From this simple material, you can create a lot of products and decorate many objects, for example, a glass for pencils or a vase. In kindergartens, for each event, teachers invite children to create gift crafts. It can be Christmas decorations for the New Year or a stand for growing summer vegetation in the fall.

We offer you to get acquainted with several master classes on making the simplest crafts for children. The most common idea that kindergarteners can use is a chick in a nest. This work will require common materials such as brown paper, blue paper, glue, scissors, a dark marker and eggshells. By the way, for such a craft, you can use quail eggshells.

  1. First you need to cut strips of brown paper. Their length should not exceed 2 cm.
  2. Further, the cut strips are slightly crumpled in the hands, after which a nest is formed from them.
  3. Then whole egg shells are taken. A beak, cut out of blue paper in advance, is glued to them. After that, eyes are drawn on the eggs with a marker. The chicks are ready, all that remains is to put them in the nest.

Another interesting craft that a small child will be able to do is a candle in a shell.

It is inappropriate to use them when the lights are turned off in the house, but for decorating a festive room is an excellent option.

Despite the simplicity of the craft, the educator or parents should follow the process of children's work.

  1. First you need to remove the yolk and white from the eggshell.
  2. Slightly enlarge the opening at the top.
  3. Insert a woolen thread through the holes. Tie the tip at a small hole in a knot or fix it with a piece of plasticine.
  4. The harvested shell is placed on the stack with the flat end.
  5. Next, the melted wax is gently poured into the shell. Half is enough.
  6. Wait a bit for the wax to harden.
  7. It remains only to get rid of the empty part of the shell and decorate the egg base.

Ideas for adults

It is necessary to take raw eggs, break them, get rid of the film from the inside, put the peeled shells in soda diluted in water, then rinse and set aside until completely dry.The dry shell must be painted in the colors required for the painting with acrylic paint.

Having prepared the basic material, you can get to work.

  1. A thick cardboard is taken as a base, a drawing is applied to it.
  2. Next, a certain area of work is selected. PVA glue is applied to it.
  3. Particles of the shell are glued to the missed area.
  4. A napkin will help to remove excess glue.
  5. All parts of the picture are drawn up in a similar way.
  6. After gluing the shell, the mosaic picture must be set aside until the adhesive is completely dry. Then cover the surface with transparent varnish.

Small souvenirs made by the hands of an adult are still popular in society. For example, crafts using the crackle technique. To understand what is at stake, it is proposed to get acquainted with a simple master class - a star. For work, you will need a minimum of tools and materials, namely: cardboard, PVA, cracked shells, paint and sandpaper.

How it's done:

  • a star is drawn on the cardboard;
  • glue is applied to a small part of the craft;
  • a piece of shell is placed on the adhesive and pressed tightly;
  • all sections of the craft are pasted over in a similar way;
  • the places where the voids remain are covered with glue and filled with small particles of the shell;
  • afterwards, excess glue is removed with a napkin;
  • then the surface of the craft is covered with paint;
  • after the dyeing composition dries, the surface of the gift item must be sanded;
