We make a craft in the form of a hut on chicken legs
The hut on chicken legs is a picturesque fairy-tale character. The house seems mysterious, original, natural and natural. Children not only from kindergarten, but also schoolchildren with interest make a mysterious hut with their own hands. There are many ways to make Baba Yaga's dwelling, some of which we will talk about in our article.
Creation from cardboard
Craft "Hut on chicken legs" is assembled from cardboard in different ways. Let's consider one of them. Before starting work, you need to prepare the following materials:
- corrugated cardboard;
- bamboo napkins (two contrasting colors);
- yarn of white, yellow, brown tones;
- solid wire;
- plastic suede (for needlework), black and white;
- acrylic paints;
- penoplex;
- braid;
- glue gun, scissors, pencil;
Let's take a closer look at the stages of making a house.
- They start work from the basic base of the hut. The bottom of the house is cut out of cardboard 12x12 cm.Then 4 walls are cut out, which should slightly expand towards the top: the height of the part is 12 cm, the lower part (at the floor) is 12 cm, the upper part (at the ceiling) is 14 cm.
- Next, proceed to the manufacture of the roof. Cut out the ceiling part with dimensions of 14x14 cm, 2 side slopes - 12x14, 2 triangular slopes (bottom - 14 cm, ribs - 11 cm each).
- For further work, bamboo napkins are disassembled into parts. Then each piece is pasted over with the resulting sticks, alternating between dark and light bamboo. When the pasting process is over, the excess bamboo material is removed along the contour of the part. In this way, the house becomes a "log cabin". At this stage, they do not work with 2 side roof parts, they are dealt with after assembling the hut.
- A door leaf 8x6 cm is cut out of cardboard, pasted over vertically with light sticks.The door trim is made of dark bamboo. The workpiece is glued to the front wall of the hut.
- To make windows, a 6x6 cm square is cut out of cardboard and pasted over with black plastic suede. Curtains are made of white material (as shown in the figure). The finished window is glued to one of the walls of the house. Optionally, you can make from one to three windows.
- Once the part is glued, you need to work with it a little more. Light bamboo sticks are glued around the perimeter, forming a frame. One of the sticks is installed vertically in the center of the window, dividing it into 2 sashes.
- Next, they start assembling the house. They start work from the walls, glue them together from the end part. Inside, in the corners, fix the product with tape.
- The bottom of the hut is glued in the same way.
- At the next stage, the roof is made. The ceiling and side slopes are fixed between themselves, then triangular slopes are installed. All parts are put on glue and fixed on the inside with tape.
- Places of cuts are hidden under dark bamboo sticks.
- The finished roof is connected to the house with glue.
- It's time to work on the side slopes of the roof. To form it, take 2 dark bamboo sticks, 3 cm longer than the base of the roof. One part is glued at the bottom of the ramp, and the second is glued on top. The ends of the bamboo should protrude 1.5 cm on each side of the roof. Bamboo is placed vertically on these two horizontal parts. This work should be done on both sides of the roof.
- The upper joint of the roof is hidden under two light bamboo sticks, a wooden skewer is laid between them.
- All corners of the house are pasted over with tape.
- Next, they work with a stand for the hut. A rectangular piece of 12x17 cm is cut out of cardboard, a house is glued onto it so that the porch protrudes in front.
- Light-colored bamboo sticks are placed on the porch. They also glue the sidewalls of the stand from all sides. Skewers are added along the contour. The house is ready.
The stages of making chicken legs are also worth considering in detail.
- A cable with several cores is taken as a basis. Cut it into 17 cm fragments (3 for each leg). To form the foot, 2 parts of the cable are stripped to a depth of 5 cm, freeing the veins, on the third part, the tip of 1 cm is cleaned for the claw.
- By connecting the wires with 4 cores, 2 taps of them are combined into one to make 3 fingers. Add a wire with a dorsal paw. All claws are wrapped in white yarn.
- The toes and feet are wrapped in yellow yarn.
- 2 cylinders are cut out of penoplex and installed on each foot, then wrapped with brown yarn.
- When gluing the legs to the house, you need to work hard with fitting and find the ideal stability option.
The finished hut is made out at the discretion of the master. You can make a mortar, mushrooms, flowers, insects, hemp and other details that turn the house into a picturesque picture.
How to make from paper?
In the previous craft, the hut was made of bamboo logs, and now we will make paper logs. They will add volume to the composition, form a spectacular house of Baba Yaga.
Manufacturing process:
- first they draw a diagram of the house on paper, outline the dimensions of the product;
- based on the selected parameters, the Whatman paper is cut into rectangles;
- each part is folded into a tube, it is easier to do this with a pen or pencil, the joints are glued with PVA to form the logs;
- round parts are cut out along the radius of the logs and glued to the ends, but you can not do this, just paste over the joints of the house, when it is ready, with decorative paper;
- walls are assembled from prepared parts using glue;
- the roof is made of cardboard, for the product they take a rectangular part, bend it in half and install it on a house in the form of a roof, preliminarily fold the edges of the blank by 1 cm on all sides, forming a beautiful roof contour;
- then paint the house (or do it before manufacturing, at the paper stage);
- windows and doors can be made in the form of applications, gluing them directly to the walls, but a product with cut openings will look more realistic, parts from a drawing paper with painted windows and a door are inserted into them;
chicken legs are made from three connected wires with free ends left for the legs, the wire is completely pasted over with paper, the paper house is ready.
Made from natural materials
The best houses of Baba Yaga are made from natural materials. Anything that can be found in a forest or park is suitable for a hut. The autumn palette is especially beautiful, captured in multi-colored leaves and all kinds of fruits, which can also be used to decorate crafts. We offer a selection of houses on chicken legs made of natural material.
