The spirit of the forest in Slavic mythology is the well-known goblin, or, as it is also called, the forest man. He is the protector of the forest kingdom - he keeps order and helps animals in trouble. No one knows exactly what the goblin looks like, since he constantly changes his appearance. Most often he is depicted as an old man with a long shaggy beard and matted hair the color of marsh grass. It is somewhat similar to a person, however, a grayish skin color and the absence of eyebrows and eyelashes are striking distinctive features. He has large luminous green eyes.

Often the image of a goblin is used as an idea for an autumn craft. A wide variety of materials are used for its implementation. In the article you will find several useful workshops on making a figurine of the defender of the forest.

How to make a toilet paper roll?

You can use various types of recycled materials as materials for creating crafts, for example, cardboard rolls from toilet paper. It is environmentally friendly and practical.

The cylindrical shape of the sleeve is very convenient as a basis for many figures, including for creating a forestry.

To make the "Leshy" craft, you will need the following materials:

  • toilet paper sleeve;

  • 2 white A4 sheets;

  • watercolor paints;

  • wax crayons;

  • brushes;

  • scissors;

  • PVA glue;

  • paper tape;

  • corn stigmas (hairs);

  • leaves;

  • artificial eyes;

  • a set of plasticine.

The work progress includes several steps.

  1. We decorate a white sheet of paper, randomly drawing on it with watercolors and wax crayons.

  2. After the paper has dried, we glue the sleeve with it using PVA glue.

  3. Cut out the forester's face from a white sheet, glue it onto the sleeve.

  4. We glue the artificial eyes. We sculpt eyebrows from plasticine in the form of a thin elongated sausage. We make the oval nose and mouth from orange and red plasticine, and the cheeks from two green cakes. We stick all the details on the face of our figurine. Draw the nostrils and mouth.

  5. We use corn silk for beards and mustaches.

  6. We also use corn hairs for hair. We wrap the assembled bundle with tape and glue it on the inside of the sleeve.

  7. We form a small bundle of leaves and fasten it with tape. Place the assembled bundle inside the sleeve so that it sticks out.

Products from natural materials

The use of natural materials when creating products with your own hands is always highly appreciated by teachers of educational institutions. It is always more interesting for children to work with such material, because it can be independently assembled in the park or in the forest.

You can make a figurine of a goblin for a kindergarten or school on any topic of the autumn exhibition.

A simple version of the craft on the theme "Goblin - defender of the forest" can be made from a cone. For this you will need:

  • large spruce cone;

  • a set of plasticine;

  • dry twigs;

  • leaves;

  • dried chestnut peel.

Getting started.

  1. We take an ash leaf and cut it into narrow strips on both sides. He will serve as the shaggy beard of the future woodsman.

  2. We make eyes and eyebrows from plasticine. Form a small ball from the orange tone and press it down - this will be the mouth. We sculpt it at the base of the beard. For the nose, select a bent piece of a twig, make a round cake of brown plasticine, on which we will fix the nose.

  3. All the blanks are done, now we carefully fix them on the cone.

  4. For hands we select twigs with several branches, rowan clusters are well suited. We tear off the necessary branch and get rid of the berries. We sculpt two oval-shaped blanks from brown plasticine and insert twigs into them.

  5. We attach ready-made hands to the sides of the cone. Thanks to the "lush beard", the plasticine base is not visible.

  6. We use the dried chestnut peel as a hat, fixing it on the head with a small piece of plasticine.

  7. We sculpt two ovals from brown plasticine - these will be the legs of the figure.

The keeper of the forest kingdom is ready! Such a product is easy to make, but it looks very original.

Interesting craft "Old Man-Lesovichok" can be crafted from log or hemp. To make it, you will need the help of an adult, as well as the following tools and materials:

  • a small birch log;

  • leaves;

  • dried or artificial bunches of berries;

  • cones;

  • acorns;

  • moss;

  • birch bark;

  • spruce twigs;

  • cardboard;

  • glue gun

  • drill;

  • screwdriver.

Let's see how this is done.

  1. For crafts, we choose a small diameter log. We install it on a wooden stand, fix it with screws.

  2. We divide the large acorn in half - these will be the eyes of the forester. We fix them on the log with a glue gun.

  3. We use a pine cone as a nose, glue it to a log.

  4. We make eyebrows from small pieces of spruce branches, fix them on the figurine.

  5. Glue a small piece of moss on top of the nose. From it we make a beard for our forester, we fasten it on a log.

  6. We use pieces of birch bark to create a mustache. We also glue several large curls at the level of the temples along the entire perimeter of the head, thus creating hair for our figure.

  7. On both sides we drill two holes for the hands approximately in the middle of the log.

  8. We fix two spruce branches with glue, insert them into the drilled holes - these will be the hands of the goblin.

  9. We form a cone-hat from cardboard, fix it on the head of the product. We decorate it with leaves, berries, curls of birch bark, gluing them with a heat gun.

  10. Now you need to decorate the stand.

For this we use everything that we have in stock - cones, acorns, birch bark, berries, leaves. We fix everything with a glue gun.

The forester is ready!

Useful Tips

When working with natural materials, it is important to consider several nuances.

  1. Use clean, dry leaves for your craftwork.

  2. Acorns and chestnuts should be intact, as various insects can grow in them.

  3. If possible, dry the harvested buds, acorns and chestnuts in the oven. A craft made from such materials will last longer.

  4. Use plasticine to fix small parts of a product made from natural materials.

  5. It is best to use a glue gun for attaching large or heavy parts.

  6. Having chosen the goblin as an idea for the craft, be sure to ask the child what he knows about this mythological image. Briefly tell us about him, how he looks, what duties he performs in the forest.

  7. Discuss with the baby how he imagines him, what he wants to make a figurine of a goblin.
