Making bats for Halloween
The bat is considered one of the traditional symbols of All Saints Day, along with the pumpkin. Such figurines are often used to decorate premises for a festive party. Making them is not at all difficult - this will require the most affordable materials and a drop of imagination.
Making from paper
The method of making a paper bat shape directly depends on the consumables that you have at your fingertips. Usually, cardboard, colored or corrugated paper is used. The thin one is suitable for origami, and the condensed one is suitable for creating dimensional shapes. To achieve a quick result, it is better to take ready-made templates - they are cut out if you need to make a large number of identical shapes, for example, to create an elegant garland.
By working with stencils and templates, you can make both simple small silhouettes and large figures for decorating doors and windows. To create garlands and other interior decor according to templates, thin cardboard or double-sided paper is traditionally used. Mice made of thin colored paper are glued to the windows.
Stencils are used when it is necessary to paint any craft; they are made from solid cardboard.
Figures of bats cut out according to the template will look more voluminous if several folds are made in the middle of the body and at the corners of the wings. To create voluminous bats, you can use a simple paper towel or toilet paper roll. If you lack the right amount, just glue a similar cylinder from cardboard sheets. The advantage of such a craft is that it is prepared very quickly, and the result is invariably cute and stylish.
To work you will need:
- black paper / cardboard,
- black gouache;
- colored paper;
- plastic eyes;
- chenille for paws.
To begin with, the sleeve is covered with gouache, then they begin to prepare the wings. To do this, the outline of the wing is cut out of black paper, folded in the form of an accordion and fixed on the sleeve with glue or a stapler. After that, it remains only to glue the eyes and ears. The expression of the muzzle can be done in any way.
For example, triangles will look like evilly squinted eyes, and a couple of such blanks will become pointed fangs - such a mammal looks laconic, but very ominous. You can create a bat out of plain black paper. Additionally, you need to prepare a template, thread, ruler and scissors. First, the template is transferred to black paper.
You can place it entirely on an A4 sheet of paper, or you can divide it into two sheets (in this case, the craft will turn out to be more voluminous). After that, the curves of the body and wings should be formed. To do this, use a ruler or creasing tool. Alternatively, the scoring can be done with the blunt side of the knife / scissors and with a non-writing pen. A couple of holes are made in the center of the workpiece, and a thread is threaded. Such a mouse can be hung at home on a chandelier or on a tree near the window.
If you have black crepe paper, use it to turn candy into bats. You just need to wrap the sweets, thread and cut the wings out of the tips of the paper.
How to make from cans?
If you have tin cans at home, you can try making bats out of them. To do this, you only need to paint the jar with black enamel, cut the wings out of thick cardboard and fix it on the jar with hot melt glue.
The infant formula can can be converted into a collecting bucket for sweets. In this case, you will additionally need a wire handle and multi-colored tape to decorate it. With such a container, you can safely send children in search of sweets.
