Maple leaves can be collected and placed in a vase, they will not live in it for long, but they will provide a couple of hours of autumn atmosphere in the house. You can treat them with wax, and then they will retain their beauty much longer. This is a wonderful seasonal interior decoration, one of the main autumn associations. And wreaths are made from the leaves, the use of which is quite varied.

For what occasions can a wreath be woven?

There are not so few such options when a wreath is appropriate and used as a decorative item.

Let's consider the main ones.

  • PHOTOSESSION. She has become an integral part of life - it seems that everyone has family photosets or individual photography. A colorful autumn as if disposes to ensure that a person captures himself against its background. Especially when it comes to a girl, a girl or an adult woman. And maple leaves in a wreath on their heads convey the autumn mood incredibly accurately and are suitable for almost everyone.
  • Thematic holiday. For example, Harvest Day in kindergarten - Autumn should appear on the stage in front of preschool children. It is logical that it will be a teacher in a wreath of leaves.
  • A wreath on the door. How to mark the change of seasons? Yes, you can do it right from the doorway. Moreover, the wreath can hang from either side of the door. The mood in the home is set immediately, it looks traditional, beautiful and conceptual.
  • A wreath on the wall anywhere in the house. The wreath does not need to hang on the front door, it can be a wall in the living room or in the kitchen, in the hallway, corridor, bedroom, nursery, etc. If the balcony is used not as a storage, but as a well-kept functional part of the house with a nice design be there too.
  • Gift decoration. A small, symbolic wreath can decorate a gift enclosed in a craft paper box. This addition looks charming and touching.
  • Crafts for the garden. And you don't have to think about what to do this time for the traditional show of autumn family crafts.
  • As part of a decorative composition on the dining table. Such compositions for the New Year are made more often: spruce branches, cones, etc. are used. But the table can be decorated in autumn, and a wreath will be part of such an idea. Inside it can be placed a beautiful candlestick with aroma candles with a characteristic autumn scent.

In a word, there are many reasons for using a wreath. And therefore, it definitely makes sense to practice in drawing it up and learn a few tricks of the decorator.

What else can you use?

Everything that one way or another relates to autumn. Any natural material that gives rise to the right associations. From acorns and chestnuts to mountain ash and dried flowers, everything is good companions to maple leaves.

What to take for the wreath additionally:

  • hydrangea - they look great when dry, voluminous, expressive, modern;
  • ears of corn - if it is not possible to collect them in their natural environment, you can always find something suitable in a flower shop;
  • shrub twigs - for example, a vine or willow twigs, as well as barberry branches give grace to any autumn wreath;
  • rose hip - will decorate any wreath;
  • cowberry - also expressive berry;
  • viburnum - without it, it is difficult to imagine a traditional combined wreath on the door;
  • decorative vegetables and fruits, sunflower heads - indeed, it is not always possible to restrict oneself to only natural natural materials, which does not negate the beauty of the product;
  • ribbons - you can decorate the wreath with various decorative items in the color of the composition (from thin braid to wide satin and burlap ribbons).

Many ideas are born in the process of creating a wreath. For example, hairspray with golden glitters catches your eye: this can be the perfect finishing touch for a finished composition. The most logical option is to take a walk in the autumn park and collect something from which you can then construct a wreath.

The names of some plants and shrubs may not be known, but the collected elements will ideally merge in an elegant wreath.

Weaving patterns

There is a simple scheme, for the implementation of which only the leaves and hands of the master are enough. Even a child can easily learn to do it. For such a wreath, leaves with long legs, beautiful and not deformed, are required.

Only from leaves

You need to take two beautiful sheets in your hands, you can even three, most importantly, observe the density of the weaving. Then two more sheets are taken so that they lay crosswise on the previous ones. After that, the upper "legs" are brought under the lower ones, they are displayed between the leaves. And again two leaves are taken, the procedure is repeated, and this is how weaving continues until the very end. There is nothing complicated, but the wreath will also be simple, unadorned.

With attachment to a wire base

The task becomes more complicated - you need not only to tie the leaves together, but also to fix them on the wire.

We make a wreath on a wire basis with our own hands.

  1. You need to cut off a piece of wire with a preliminary fitting along the diameter of the head. The wire is connected in a circle.
  2. Then you can repeat the weaving from the previous paragraph, only from time to time the intertwined legs of the leaves are fixed with hot glue. You can do otherwise - first, wrap the wire with twigs of bushes, berry branches, also using glue. And then use the leaves. But this will already be a combined wreath.
  3. Small loops can be made at the ends of the wire, which is woven in two layers. Then ribbons will be stretched through them, helping to tie a wreath in the end, fixing it securely on the head.

If you want to make a long-lasting accessory, you will either have to take artificial leaves or preserve them. There are several ways to preserve leaves. One of the most used is glycerin.

In an aqueous solution of glycerin, the leaves can be soaked (but for several weeks!), But it is better to boil the leaves in it, and everything will be much faster.

You can use epoxy resin, and in its pouring natural materials retain their beauty for a long time. Usually they are poured with epoxy, so that later they can be turned into a brooch or earrings, but you can also use it for a wreath - it will turn out incredibly cute.

With the addition of other materials

A very beautiful, detailed work can be done in one evening. The wreath will look amazing as an interior decoration; it can be used both for photo shoots and for table decor.

What is required for such a work:

  • 2 base wreaths woven from twigs;
  • 3 small pumpkins;
  • bunches of berries;
  • colored balls;
  • bunches of dry berries and leaves;
  • acorns;
  • cones;
  • 2 branches;
  • 3 feathers;
  • hot glue;
  • wire.

The master class will help you step by step in creating your own composition.

  • Two wreaths of twigs must be combined into one. You can weave one large one at once, but the connection looks more original, more voluminous, and small wreaths are easier to weave - they do not fall apart, they hold tight. To weave wreaths, you will need threads in the color of the rods, which will fasten the weaving with a certain step.
  • Bunches of berry should appear on the finished double wreath. To do this, they need to be glued to hot glue at pre-designated fixation points. The distance between the bunches should be kept even. 3-4 berry fragments are used for a large wreath.
  • It's time to attach small pumpkins. You can cover them with varnish and sprinkle with sparkles in advance, so they will look more elegant. 3 pumpkins are enough for one wreath, they should not be side by side.
  • After that, acorns, cones and, finally, leaves can be attached to hot glue. Natural material can be combined with artificial berries and leaves, if everything suits the color scheme, such a combination will definitely not cut the eyes.

Such MCs always involve a certain amount of improvisation. You can start by braiding a wreath of twigs with leaves, bypassing berries, pumpkins and acorns, which only then will be interspersed into the base of leaves. It all depends on the amount of decor and sizes.

In general, it is easier to focus on specific examples, find images of beautiful wreaths and try to repeat them, observing the same pattern and finding suitable, similar components.

How to keep a wreath?

One of the beneficial ways to preserve autumn leaves is with wax. It must be melted in the microwave, in a water bath, and then the leaves must be dipped into the melted mass. You need to get them out of the wax immediately, holding them in weight for some time so that the excess melting mass is dripping. Then send the leaves in the "film" to the foil. The wax hardens quickly, forming a thin layer on the leaves. The wax itself can be obtained from a regular stearic candle.

If you prepare the leaves in advance, and then attach them to wreaths, a wire or cardboard base, the wreath will last not two days, but at least a season.

It will be helpful to learn how to use glycerin to preserve the leaves.

  1. A saucepan is taken (small, 2-3 liters), glycerin and water are poured into it. If the leaves should be "greasy", take glycerin with water in equal proportions. But usually 1 part of glycerin accounts for 2 parts of water.
  2. The saucepan with the composition is sent to the fire, the leaves are thrown there, and all this is cooked over low heat. It will take about an hour to cook. The solution is not thrown away, but drained into a jar, since it will be suitable for several more such preserves.
  3. The leaves are washed with water, dried on disposable towels. They will turn out smooth, shiny, ready to decorate any crafts.

As for ironing the leaves with an iron, this method is good for wreaths that last a couple of days. As with the use of scotch tape, it does not give long-term results.The leaves are also laminated (like regular paper), but this does not look particularly convincing.

Happy creative experiments!
