As an autumn craft, you can make a hedgehog. This forest dweller is always depicted with leaves or mushrooms on the back. And for making needles, cereals and oblong seeds are perfect.

We make an applique from cereals

You can make not only needles from cereals, but also a muzzle with a body. For needles, buckwheat or dark rice is more suitable. The muzzle is best made from rice, millet, corn or semolina.

You will also need to work:

  • PVA glue;
  • glue brush;
  • contour figurine of a hedgehog made of cardboard;
  • decorative elements.

First, the back of the hedgehog is made. To do this, glue is applied to the cardboard with a thick layer, and then groats are poured. The muzzle falls asleep in the same way. Now you need to leave the craft to dry out. And so that the cereal is better fixed, it is recommended to put a white sheet of paper on top and put a press, for example, a thick book. Brown or black plasticine can be used as an alternative to glue. To do this, he smears a thin layer with his fingers over the back area. Further, the cereal is pressed into the plasticine with effort.

As soon as the glue dries, you need to gently lift the craft up so that the excess groats crumble. Now you can start decorating. Make eyes and a nose for a hedgehog, for example, from beads or plasticine, attach berries, leaves or mushrooms to the back.

Instead of cereals, you can use sunflower or watermelon seeds. In this case, they need to be laid out with sharp "noses" in one direction.

Plasticine option

Do-it-yourself voluminous plasticine crafts look interesting. The needles can be made from sunflower seeds, ash, maple, or coffee beans. To work you will need:

  • beige plasticine;
  • seeds;
  • small pieces of white and black plasticine for the eyes.

Knead a piece of beige plasticine in your hands until it becomes soft and pliable. Roll up the ball. Then, on one side, you need to stretch out a part of the plasticine, so that in the end you get a drop-shaped shape - the muzzle of a hedgehog. Modeling dough can be used instead of plasticine. Now you need to make the needles. For this, the sunflower seeds are sunk into a spherical body with the blunt side. If you put them in rows, and not chaotically, the craft will look neater.

Two small balls should be rolled out of white plasticine, flattened. Do the same with black plasticine, but the diameter of the balls should be smaller. Combine the details and attach the eyes to the hedgehog. Roll another piece of black plasticine into a ball and attach it to the tip of the muzzle - this will be the nose. The craft is ready.

More craft ideas

In addition to seeds, cereals and plasticine, you can create crafts from different materials.

From the leaves

Another craft using the applique technique. To work you will need:

  • white cardboard;
  • dried leaves;
  • black marker;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors.

Draw the silhouette of a hedgehog on the cardboard. You can use a ready-made sketch, for example, print from the Internet, cut and paste on cardboard. Next, form needles from the leaves. To do this, stick them to the cardboard with the sharp sides up. You need to start from the far tier and gradually lay out in rows closer to you or from the tail to the head.

If necessary, you can shape the leaves into the desired shape with scissors.

From potatoes

Many people use vegetables for autumn crafts. You can make a cute hedgehog from oblong potatoes. To work you will need:

  • oval potatoes;
  • knife;
  • sunflower seeds;
  • 2 sticks of eye cloves;
  • a piece of plasticine for the nose;
  • brown felt-tip pen.

To begin with, a suitable tuber must be well washed off the ground. Then, from the middle of the potato, make marks with a marker for future needles. For this, lines are drawn around the circumference of the potato.

It is necessary to make cuts along the marks with a knife. The depth should be such that the seed can enter to the middle... Further, seeds are inserted into the cuts close to each other. Fill the entire back of the hedgehog with seeds step by step. Make slits for the eyes and insert the studs. Instead, you can use ready-made running eyes for toys. Roll a ball out of plasticine and attach it to the place of the nose.

From a plastic bottle

The craft made from a plastic bottle turns out to be large and can be used for an autumn installation. For work you will need:

  • plastic bottle for 1 or 1.5 liters;
  • gray or beige plasticine for the body;
  • black plasticine for eyes and nose;
  • sunflower seeds.

If the plastic bottle is too long, the hedgehog's body will look unnatural. Therefore, it needs to be cut in half, and the pieces inserted into each other. Wrap the joint with tape. Next, you should coat the body with gray or beige plasticine. The thickness of the layer should be such that it can hold the seeds. Then needles are made. Sunflower seeds with a blunt end are sunk into plasticine in dense rows.

The bottle cap is coated with black plasticine to make the nose. Eyes and ears are made from it. All crafts are available not only for schoolchildren, but for young children. Perfect for any exhibitions, both as individual work and as a group, for example, to make a family of hedgehogs for a walk.
