Taking a bath, everyone wants to relax and recuperate after a hard day or time filled with various worries and solving any issues. In this publication, we will help you figure out how to choose the right individual pillow for the bath: under the head, under the back. We will also tell you what materials these products are made of and how to care for them.

Peculiarities

Specialized shopping facilities will offer you a very wide selection of bath supports (pillows for fixing parts of the body), soft and elastic, comfortable for positioning the head, neck and back. A bath pillow can be:

  • just inflatable;
  • filled with gel (jelly) or foam;
  • polyvinyl chloride.

One of the important features of bathroom pillows is their hypoallergenicity: all of the above materials do not cause allergic reactions. Modern products of this type have the function of adjusting the level of hardness-softness, and some have massagers and media players.

The accessory can be easily attached to any type of surface: metal, acrylic, plastic and so on, it will stick even to a damp surface due to special suction cups, so this is a very convenient thing to relax and enjoy the bathing process.

The product is produced in a compact size, such a pillow can be taken with you when going on vacation or on other trips.

If you accidentally puncture an inflatable product, it can be repaired using the same technology used to seal an inflatable mattress.

Manufacturing materials

Choose a cover that dries quickly, is mold resistant, easy to clean, and comfortable to lie on. Manufacturers make such accessories, as a rule, using different materials for the lids - from PVC to polyester.

As for filling the bath pillows, let's take a look at each material separately.

  • A jelly-like liquid is a gel (jelly)capable of slightly curing under suitable conditions. So, some coolness lovers put an accessory in the freezer or in the refrigerator and then use it.
  • Special foam - the most common bath pillow filler. It has the ability to remember (when the memory foam is inside) the contour and shape of the head, neck and takes on the desired appearance after several uses.
  • Micro head beads also automatically adjust to body contours. Bath pillows with such a filler are quite wear-resistant, will last a long time, they are durable and easy to use.

Finally, just inflatable PVC specimens. By choosing the pressure level, they can be made softer or completely hard, warm or ice water can be poured into them, depending on the user's preference. Such products are convenient to take on the road and easy to store by deflating them.

Types by appointment

Some people want a small bath pillow just to support the head and neck, while others prefer an accessory that will cushion the entire torso. Fortunately, bath pillows are available in various sizes, different shapes, and they also differ in purpose.

Under the head

Such products are usually produced on suction cups, but there are copies with a magnetic mechanism, on an adhesive basis, and also which are attached using a holder (or legs). One way or another, all head restraints should be well fixed and support the head and cervical spine.

Under the back

These options will support your torso well when there are spinal problems, and create a comfortable position for relaxing the whole body while taking a bath. They also have a fixation device, although this issue in this case is not as relevant as in the head restraints.

Design

Among the models there is a large pillow with an orthopedic design, consists of two panels. It has a smooth and soft surface to the touch. For children, designers have developed a collar pillow, although many adults prefer such items.

Among other options, the following models are distinguished:

  • in the form of a cylinder (as an insert or pad, there is also a semicircular shape with a deepening of the cervical spine);
  • in the form of a semicircular roller with legs;
  • spherical head pillow with a special recess;
  • hinged support for the body of a triangular or rectangular shape with suction cups for envelope bath models.

Such an accessory can become the main design element in the bathroom. If space permits, inflatable specimens can not be deflated, but stored in the bathroom.

There are many color schemes, so it will not be difficult to choose the right shade to match the color of tiles or textiles.

Selection criteria

When choosing a bath pillow, one must take into account the design of the bath, since some models may be designed, for example, only for vertical baths and so on. In addition, when choosing such an accessory for yourself, pay attention to other points.

  • How the product is attached. The fixation of the object in this case is of great importance, since it provides a level of comfort. Models with suction cups are very popular, but if the bathtub has a rectangular hinged support, then you can choose the appropriate pillow.
  • Pay attention to the shape of the accessory. Anatomical support options are more suitable, which comfortably fix body parts and provide complete relaxation of the entire torso. Only personal feelings will help you make the right choice, so try on the product for yourself before buying.
  • What the pillow is made of. The material of the filler and cover must be safe and resistant to moisture.Of course, tactile sensations are important: be sure to touch the product when selecting it, it should be warm and pleasant to the touch. By the way, check out the manufacturer's warranties. If the service life is less than two years, do not buy such a product.

Finally, choose a bath support to match the interior of the space. The modern market offers such accessories in various colors, so you can choose both for a classic interior and for a room with a jacuzzi.

Care Tips

Make sure that the pillow is not constantly damp, otherwise it will become moldy and give off an unpleasant odor. To avoid such problems, the accessory is cleaned and washed with an antibacterial agent after each use (it is better to take soap).

Please note that not all of these pillows can be thrown in the washing machine.

After each washing and cleaning, the product must be allowed to dry well (outside the bathroom) and only then put back into storage. If, nevertheless, the mold has got to your "favorite", do not immediately get rid of it and get yourself a new one.

It can be reanimated with white vinegar, which will treat both mold spores and black spots. You can wipe the surface with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1: 1 ratio), but if that doesn't work, then reduce the proportion of water and add baking soda until a paste forms.

Another point: since most bath pillows come in a white case, be careful with dyes, which may contain foam and bath salts. When using these formulations, the pillows can become stained.

Manufacturers recommend using the bath pillow only for its intended purpose and not taking it out into nature to rest on it, and so on. By the way, these products are not for the sun. If you properly care for your bath pillow, it will serve you for a long time and retain its aesthetic appearance.
