Secrets of weaving voluminous braids
Long and medium length strands allow you to braid them in a variety of ways, creating unusual hairstyles. When forming braids, you want them to look voluminous and textured. This can be achieved both by weaving itself and by using some hairdressing tricks.
Secrets of lush braids
The owner of a rich head of hair does not have to worry too much about the splendor of the braid. Those with thin strands need to take additional measures to achieve the desired effect.
Additional volume is provided by:
- weaving narrow braids;
- bouffant;
- corrugation;
- using curlers;
- the use of artificial hair.
The safest method for preparing hair is to use thin braids, which are braided after shampooing on slightly damp strands. It is best to spend the night with small pigtails, and unravel them in the morning. This will provide splendor. A braid on such a basis can look rich.
If there is no time to weave small braids, you can use the corrugation attachment on the curling iron, having previously treated the strands with a thermal protective compound.
Using a curler gives about the same effect as braids or a curling iron with a nozzle. Just outwardly, the curls resemble rings. Handling them with care, you can achieve a very rich texture when weaving.
The fastest way to add volume is to comb, although this is an undesirable means of achieving the desired effect, since this approach puts stress on the hair. To comb them, use a comb with frequent teeth.
It is undesirable to use this approach on long hair. It will be difficult to comb through them, returning to their original state.
The fragile structure of the hair shaft is also an obstacle to this hairdressing technique.
By combing, you can create volume at the root or along the length. The choice depends on what result you want to achieve.
To create a hairstyle with voluminous braids, you can use strands on hairpins or extensions. For those with thin hair, this is a good solution. Moreover, you can use such "tricks" for a long time.
After the braid is braided, it remains to straighten it slightly, stretching the curls. This must be done very carefully so as not to damage the existing pattern. It should be pulled from the beginning of weaving, moving towards the end.
You can either pull out only the extreme strands, or straighten all the links as a whole. Externally, braids look different.
Weaving options
Bulky braids for long and medium hair are braided in almost the same way according to one pattern or another. Short hair can also be braided, but it is more difficult to handle. Braids can be woven from the forehead back, from the back of the head to the neck. Beautiful weaving is obtained if you first comb the hair to one side, then perform a braid on one side of the face.
Thanks to this, it is possible to create a sensual mysterious image.
This hairstyle is suitable for owners of narrow faces, with shapes close to an elongated oval or sharp features - irregularities are hidden due to weaving in this version.
It should be borne in mind that square or round faces with this arrangement of braided hair will seem heavy. In order not to create such an impression, you need to release a couple of curls from the side opposite to the braid.
The easiest way is to make a braid to one side if the hair reaches the shoulder blades. If the strands are of medium length, you will need to use false hair as well.
Whatever the location we are talking about, with the proper skill, you can braid your hair yourself, creating a hairstyle for every day or for a holiday. You can independently weave not only a simple three-strand, but also more complex options.
French
To make a voluminous braid in the French way, it is advisable to raise the hair on the top of the head and secure it with invisibility. Further, the step-by-step procedure looks like this:
- select three strands;
- make two perekid, as at the beginning of creating a regular braid;
- gradually adding hair from the total mass to the side elements of the braid, braid to the end;
- when all the hair is involved, complete like a regular braid;
- make it airy by stretching the weaving elements.
Acting in this manner, you can create an inverted French braid, or, as it is also called, a braid inside out. For this, the lateral components are not superimposed on the central element, but are wound under it.
French weaving is very beautiful if you braid two of these braids. This is a good option for medium-length strands.
Of four strands
Weaving with 4 strands is not too different from creating a 3-strand braid:
- hair is divided into 4 parts;
- starting from the right or left side, the extreme strand is superimposed on the adjacent one;
- passes under the third;
- superimposed on the fourth;
- in the second row, the movement is repeated again;
- reaching the end, it remains to fix the hair with an elastic band.
The secret of the correct braid is not to lose sight of the location of the extreme strand, passing in turn, first above and then below the next to the fourth.
From five strands
Before you start weaving a regular braid of 5 strands, it is advisable to experiment on hair gathered in a ponytail. It will be easier to master the movements. Then you can start to weave the usual 5-strand braids:
- divide all hair into equal parts in the amount of 5 pieces;
- draw the fifth strand over the third and under the fourth;
- the first is above the third and below the second;
- now the fifth above the fourth and below the third;
- the first is above the third and below the second;
- after that, the cycle repeats until the moment when all the hairs are woven into the braid.
If this method of weaving seems tricky, you can use the same principle as when creating a braid from four strands - focusing on the alternating passage above and below adjacent parts of one strand, the path of which starts from the right or left side.
Bezel
Hair can be braided in the form of a headband, combining it with loose strands. You can make such an element from two braids:
- comb the hair around the crown;
- select a strand of hair above the ear and braid in the usual way;
- fix with an elastic band;
- fluff slightly, stretching the strands along the edges;
- make the same braid in the area of the other ear;
- fix the end of one braid at the opposite one;
- do the same with the second.
You can make a headband from a braid:
- demarcate the front and back hair with a horizontal parting;
- tie the back with an elastic band so that they do not interfere with weaving;
- highlight thin strands at the temple;
- moving along the forehead, form an inverted French braid;
- reaching the unused hair in the back of the head, fix it with an elastic band;
- remove under loose hair.
The headband will look different if you make it a regular French weave, superimposing the side strands on the center one.
"Fish tail"
Weaving in this way differs from the usual braid in that what is it done on the basis of two leading strands:
- on strand 1, a thin strand is superimposed, taken from the mass of hair on the side of the head to which the leading strand 2 is closer;
- then from the mass of hair from the side of strand 2, another thin strand is superimposed on strand 1;
- this continues until all the hair is woven into the braid;
- the remaining hair length is braided in the same way, when thin strands are selected from strand 1 and transferred to strand 2, and then the operation is repeated in reverse;
- this is done until all the hair is in the "fish tail".
Based on this approach to creating a hairstyle, you can make two or more braids. At the same time, they turn out to be voluminous and rich.
Greek
The classic weaving of a Greek braid looks like this:
- with a vertical parting, part the hair into two halves of the same volume;
- weave each part with a French back braid;
- direct the ends to opposite sides, securing with invisible behind the ears.
In Greek, you can make a braid from plaits around the head:
- at the temple, separate two strands and make a turn, intertwining with each other;
- select another strand from the mass;
- include in the harness;
- make a new round;
- so in a row include all the hair in the hairstyle;
- Hide the tip under the beginning of the braid and pin it so that the hair does not stick out.
A wonderful-looking festive braid also comes out of the curls:
- divide the hair into 4 parts - with a vertical parting in the parietal zone and horizontal parting into the upper and lower occipital zones;
- all strands, except for those in the lower occipital zone, stab;
- curl the ends of the lower hair on a curling iron and make a light bouffant;
- do the same with part of the hair from the area above;
- lay the curls so that they are magnificently intertwined;
- do the same with the hair on the crown, making a good root bouffant in this area;
- curl the ends of the front hair;
- bring back;
- stab;
- fix with varnish.
With elastic bands
Those who are unable to braid a complex pattern of strands can use elastic bands. They also allow you to get a fluffy hairstyle in the form of a braid:
- comb hair back;
- select part of the hair at the forehead;
- secure with silicone rubber;
- direct forward, to the face, so that the tail does not interfere;
- behind to make another tail of the same size;
- the first is divided into two equal parts;
- "Embrace" the next one;
- the second is also directed forward and secured;
- add strands from the sides to the halves of the first tail and fix together with another elastic band;
- also dilute the strands of the previous tail in two halves and repeat the procedure;
- so pick up the hair all over the head;
- at the end there are two tails;
- put on the elastic band on the one that is above, stepping back from the root so that you can stick the tail below it into it;
- in this manner, bring the weaving to the end;
- Stretch the hair gently to give the hair a splendor.
Hairdresser recommendations
Most girls acquire basic weaving skills from childhood. Nevertheless, it takes practice to create voluminous beautiful braids so that the hands themselves remember this or that procedure. Experienced hairdressers are happy to share their advice.
Before tackling new types of weaving on the head of a living model, it is better to use a simulator - a mannequin head with hair, which can be purchased at a specialized hairdressing store.
The length of the hair on the mannequin should be up to 50 centimeters.
When creating braids, the following tools may come in handy:
- comb with frequent teeth;
- comb-tail for the convenience of separating strands;
- clamps;
- various clamps such as elastic bands, tapes, hairpins, invisible pins;
- foam, hair spray;
- curling tools - curlers, curling iron, iron.
Many girls are faced with the fact that hair is often tangled during braiding. The longer the strands, the more serious the problem.
There is only one way to avoid this - with each application of one part of the hair to another, dividing them along the entire length.
In order for the braids to be preserved for a long time, they need to be braided tighter. The fishtail keeps its shape best. And also the most stable hairstyle is the one in which the braids are styled in a circle.
