However, there are also simple open models. Natural wood must be pre-treated with special compounds to protect it from moisture, pests and mold.

The lower cost and the availability of a wide color palette explains the popularity of this material. MDF stands are also treated with water-repellent substances.

Rattan furniture is environmentally friendly and lightweight both in terms of weight and appearance. Nevertheless, such stands are quite durable and can last for many years if used correctly.

Otherwise, you won't be able to store street shoes in this way.

The uprights are made from different materials to suit different interior styles. For example, wood fits perfectly into the classic, oriental interior, modern style. Rough and untreated wood looks better in the direction of rustic or country, especially when combined with artificially aged metal.

For a loft style, the combination of metal and wood should already be "younger", but the holders or legs can be replaced with real pipes. Plastic looks good in styles such as minimalism and hi-tech. It is customary to install rattan coasters in eco-interiors.

There are three important factors to consider when choosing a shoe rack. In general, the design should be practical and adequate for the intended function. For example, it is important to provide a rack for outdoor shoes with a ventilation system and, ideally, equip with open shelves.

The size should allow to accommodate all pairs that are present in everyday life, but organically fit into the footage of the room. Alternatively, just a couple of shelves are enough for shoes from the street, but for storing the entire shoe wardrobe, it is still better to allocate a separate cabinet with suitable storage systems.

The aesthetics of the stand is also important. It should harmoniously fit into the everyday interior, as well as meet the preferences of the inhabitants of an apartment or house.

Finally, the financial factor has to be taken into account. From what amount the buyer has, it depends on what material the stand will be made of, whether it will have an original design.

It is most convenient to place the stand in the so-called "dirty" area, where the process of putting on and taking off shoes takes place. Shoes and boots will always be at hand, and you can also not be afraid to accidentally get your feet, just heading to the bathroom.

The counter should not block any aisles, nor should it be close to an exit. It would be nice to have a hook with a spoon nearby for putting on shoes.

Focusing on the size, it is important not to forget about the sockets, switches and skirting boards, which "hide" free centimeters.

Sometimes the hallway is too small to place separately the shoe rack, stool and hanger.

In a classic interior with ethnic or econotes, the shoe rack is made of rough dark wood. At the bottom there is a shelf for shoes, just above there are two drawers, and on top you can sit, store some accessories or even place decor items, such as living plants in clay pots. The interior of the hallway is complemented by a coat rack made of darker wood, a poster and a wicker vase with floral elements inside.

By the way, if the open stand chosen for the hallway seems too unsightly, then you can simply put it under a laconic table made of white wood.
