After a very short time, mentions of an updated type of quilted outerwear appeared in glossy magazines, thanks to which the whole world learned about down-filled blankets. In the 80s, they began to be spoken of as a must-have of the season, an indispensable part of a woman's wardrobe.

And now the time has come to listen to the research of fashion historians, for they argue that the first down jackets appeared in Russia as early as the 15th century, when light down-filled outerwear began to be imported from Asia. And only a century later, such clothes appeared in everyday life of the inhabitants of Norway. For production, King Christian IV organized a nursery for breeding polar ducks, whose down is still considered unsurpassed in terms of warmth and lightness.

After Eddie Bauer created and patented the Skyliner warm down jacket in 1940, down jackets have been on the production lines of the most famous sportswear manufacturers. In 1960, haute couture announced down jackets at the suggestion of the famous Yves Saint Laurent, who transformed a sports jacket into a stylish wardrobe item, making it elegant, sophisticated, fitted - puffy vests, tight-fitting coats. Several more decades passed, and in 1990 the French added glamor to the down jackets with the wonderful Lesage haute couture exhibition. And already in 1990, a new "explosion" of popularity followed - a snow-white oversized coat in the style of a down jacket-blanket saw the light.
