All about the waterfall Kozyrek in Crimea
Most people associate a visit to the Crimean Peninsula only with relaxing on the beaches (in organized or "wild" places). But even far from the sea coast, the nature of these places can surprise many people. A striking example is the Kozyrek waterfall.
Travel
You need to look for it near the village of Peredovoe, where the Baidar Valley is crossed by the Kobalar-Su River. For your information: further to its source there are 3 more attractive waterfalls. The very name "Kobalar-Su" literally means "cave river". It got its name because of the mass of grottoes that are found almost along the entire length of the channel. During the summer months, the upper waterfalls usually dry up, and sometimes they find themselves deprived of water already in the last spring days.
Surprisingly, the name of the Kobalar waterfall in Crimea has nothing to do with the name of the river itself. It was given for the characteristic tuff build-up that appeared in 2009. The location of the reservoir makes it convenient for tourists. There are places for recreation nearby: comfortable parking for travelers, gazebos. All the way there are signs that allow you to get there by car without any problems.
It is recommended to go on the road from Sevastopol from the bus station "5th kilometer". This is the easiest and most convenient option.
At the ticket office of the bus station, you can always buy tickets to the village of Peredovoe, and upon arrival there tourists will have to go downstairs.
Passing along the Lower Lake, they will quickly discover the place where the Kobalar-Su flows into. After about 0.1 km, the asphalt will give way to a dirt road that will lead travelers to a small valley.
A bridge is thrown across the river. Having crossed it, tourists climb the knurled track.Turn left from it and walk along the shore of the lake. At the entrance to the nearest forest there is a sign that notifies you that the Kozyrek waterfall is nearby. It flows off the cliff. On the bridge you can go to the other side, and then approach the waterfall from behind.
Advantages of the object
Some descriptions also indicate that you can reach the Visor on foot from Chernorechye. The Chernorechenskoye reservoir itself and the Skelskaya cave with it will also delight vacationers, but this is a topic for a separate story. The beech forest that surrounds it gives an additional charm to the waterfall. Cavers and tourists willingly go to the surrounding elegant caves. The reason for the interest is simple:
- parking lots preserved from the primitive period;
- mesolithic finds;
- traces of ancient hunts.
The surrounding area is composed of limestone rocks. Therefore, karst sinkholes are not uncommon here. A visit to the waterfall is recommended during the spring or autumn months. Then its bed is filled with either melt water or precipitation. The stream does not look very impressive, but it looks elegant.
The flow appears to flatten and create a curtain of water. The sun is clearly visible through it. Glare of light harmoniously intertwines with jets, which allows you to enjoy a unique picture. The brilliant appearance is complemented by the melodic murmur of water. And below, under a canopy, water is collected in a miniature lake, where tourists swim.
Additional Information
The Baydar Valley is a nature reserve, and this creates certain restrictions for tourists. The territory of the valley is very rugged, and it is hardly possible to get to the peak itself by car. You will have to walk about 1.5 km. The surroundings of the waterfall are well developed. There is:
- benches;
- awnings;
- bonfires;
- places for barbecue.
It is quiet and calm near the waterfall. There are especially few people here in the morning. Walking along the path that leads there, you can see the attraction in great detail. Feelings inspired by untouched nature are extraordinarily strong. Roe deer and other animals often walk in the surrounding forests.
The water in the Bunuku-Chokrak spring is very clean and drinkable. But you have to be careful when climbing the trail.
There are many polished stones on this site and on the site itself. Due to constant contact with water, they become very slippery.
Locals know very well that it is very easy to break off the Visor.
If you do not have your own car, you can get to your destination by a fixed-route taxi or by a bus going from Sevastopol. The length of the path is approximately 5 km. Those staying in the private sector should take minibuses from the village of Rodnikovoe; if you have a car, it is advisable to go along the Sevastopol - Bakhchisarai highway. Turn right from Bakhchisarai, reaching Golubinka.
In the village of Peredovo, where tourists come along this route, you need to look for a road ring with shops and stalls. At a fork nearby, turn right again. The last section of the path (by car and on foot) is approximately 3 km. The likelihood of getting lost is low, because a lot of people travel and walk along this path. It is imperative to supervise the children so that they do not commit dangerous stupid things.
The lake, where the waterfall flows into, becomes the source of the stream flowing further along the gully. Fatma-Koba Grotto is a place of an ancient burial place. A mass of bones of ancient animals and hunting tools were found nearby. The Baydarskaya valley, where the waterfall is located, is nicknamed the Crimean Switzerland for its climatic characteristics and brilliant appearance.
