Can eyelash extensions be wetted and why are there restrictions?
Long, thick eyelashes make the look more expressive. Nature rewards not every woman with such wealth, but fortunately cosmetologists come to the rescue. A special procedure allows you to build eyelashes for a long time. They are given the desired length, density, bend. This saves the fair sex from daily makeup, allows you to look irresistible at any time of the day and under any conditions.
However, in order for the result of the procedure to be preserved as long as possible, it is necessary to adhere to some rules. The most important conditions include protecting the eyes from excessive exposure to moisture. Let's take a closer look at whether extended eyelashes can be wetted and why there are restrictions.
Features of the extension procedure
The extension procedure in the salon is very popular today. The principle is simple. With the help of a special glue, the artificial eyelashes are attached to the real ones. Depending on the technology chosen, this is done individually or in bundles. The process takes a lot of time (at least 2 hours).
Due to the laboriousness and cost of consumables, such a procedure is not cheap. Therefore, every beauty wants the resulting effect to last for a long time. In addition, not every woman has time to visit the salon frequently. Meanwhile, the loss of part of the artificial eyelashes significantly spoils the impression of the image. Therefore, in case of peeling off the material, it will not be possible to postpone the trip to the master.
After the end of the procedure the beautician must instruct the client about the features of caring for the acquired beauty... It is not recommended to sleep with your face in a pillow. It is undesirable to rub your eyes with your hands or a towel.Any mechanical impact can adversely affect the material, cause deformation or even loss of artificial eyelashes. And you should also exclude oily compounds from everyday life, use only special mascara.
Do not ignore the special comb-brush. With its help, you need to comb the extended hairs to prevent them from tangling.
One of the recommendations also applies to water exposure. As already mentioned, a special glue is used during the procedure. In order for the artificial hairs to be securely fixed, it is necessary that the adhesive composition is completely dry and cured. That's why on the first day after the procedure, it is necessary to protect the eyes from moisture.
Ideally, a day should pass. But the first few hours are considered the most critical. During this period, you cannot wash your face, be in places with high humidity. Crying is not recommended either. Tears can dissolve the glue and the result of the craftsman's labor will be lost.
If, for reasons beyond your control, water gets into your eyes, you should immediately gently blot them with a clean paper towel or tissue and allow them to air dry completely. If the exposure to moisture was short-lived, you may be able to maintain your newfound beauty. In no case should you rub your eyes, otherwise the hairs will come off. If, after visiting the master, you feel unpleasant sensations on the mucous membrane and eyelids (dryness, burning, itching) or your eyes are involuntarily watering, it is undesirable to try to rinse them with water or use some kind of drops. It is best to see a doctor right away.
It is possible that the procedure was carried out poorly. In this case, the glue could get on the skin of the eyelids or eyes and cause irritation and an allergic reaction. The doctor will give you advice on how to restore your health. Extended eyelashes may need to be removed for a while.
Of course, you should not peel off artificial hairs on your own in order to avoid traumatizing delicate tissues and your own eyelashes. The process of removing the material also requires a professional approach and a special technique, so for this you need to contact the salon.
Basic rules and recommendations
First of all, it is worth noting caution when visiting a bath or sauna. If possible, it is better to exclude such a pastime from your leisure altogether. If you cannot live without it, you need to at least wait 2-3 days after the procedure before visiting such a place. And also the temperature of the steam room should be adjusted.
It is important to understand that the increased air temperature, combined with an impressive level of humidity, provokes chemical processes in the adhesive composition that holds the artificial hairs. Even if you do not start to lose eyelashes immediately after the first visit to the sauna, the overall wear period will be significantly reduced.
On the sea
Many women glue on luxurious eyelashes before going on vacation. This is understandable. In hot southern climates, daily makeup can be uncomfortable. The extension procedure allows you to have a stunning appearance both on the beach and by the pool, and at a party in a hotel or local restaurant.
At the same time, the question arises - how to limit the effect of moisture on the eyes, if rest by the sea involves swimming. First of all, you should think about precautions before the procedure. It is important to inform the master that you are going on a trip in the near future. In this case it is better to choose the method of eyelash extension... This technology guarantees more durable result.
In the case of peeling off the material, the hairs are lost one by one, which is almost imperceptible. If you build up your eyelashes in bunches, the loss of one of them will be striking. This should be remembered, because making a quick correction on a seaside vacation is not always possible, and an imperfect appearance can ruin your mood for the rest of your vacation. The procedure is best done a few days before departure. The best option is 3 days before the vacation. This period is enough for the adhesive composition to completely dry, and you can immediately enjoy your vacation to the fullest upon arrival.
However, the masters do not advise to dive into the sea with the head. The fact is that sea salt water affects the glue even more negatively than ordinary clean liquid. The salt softens it, causing the hairs to peel off. To minimize the risk of losing your fake eyelashes quickly, it is best to swim calmly with your head above the water. And you should also avoid areas of the sea with noisy companies and children, so that water spray does not accidentally hit your face.
If you are planning to dive, be sure to get special sealed swimming goggles... Ideally, it is better to wear them even just by going into the water, although a woman is unlikely to like this prospect. If you cannot avoid getting water on your face, you should gently blot it with a cotton napkin.
If seawater gets on the eyelashes in large quantities, it is advisable to carefully rinse the eye area with plain water (preferably boiled).
In the pool
The pool is a good alternative. If you have a choice, it is better to swim not in the sea, but in a nearby artificial reservoir. There is no salt, although chlorine may be present. Therefore, after bathing, it is advisable to gently wash with clean boiled water and dab your face with a napkin.
Of course, before the first visit to the pool, you should wait 2-3 days after building up. Also, do not spend more than an hour in the water.
In the shower
Daily hygiene is a must. One day after the procedure, you can take a shower. The main thing is to be careful. Do not direct the jet of water into your face or step under the shower head with your head. If possible, it is better to wash your hair under the tap, tilting it down and excluding moisture getting into your eyes. If this does not work, you need to wash your hair in the shower as quickly as possible, throwing your head back.
After the shower, the face is dabbed with a soft towel or paper napkin. Hair is immediately dried with a hairdryer so that wet strands do not fall on the face. After drying, the eyelashes are combed.
Facial cleansers
It is better to wash your face no more than 2 times a day. It is advisable to do this with cool boiled water. Hot liquid can negatively affect the fixation of eyelashes. The same can be said for hard chlorinated water. Do not use soap.
Prefer light, non-greasy foams and sulfate-free gels.
As already said, you cannot rub your face with a towel. You need to gently blot it. Dry eyelashes are combed twice a day. As a last resort, you can do this 1 time.
Don't use oil to remove makeup. When making face masks, you need to exclude the area around the eyes. The formulations should be removed from the skin with a damp cloth. It is also not recommended to wash off the masks with water, picking it up in your palms and immersing your face in the liquid.
