Fitness Trainer Resume Tips
Fitness trainer is a profession in demand today. Accordingly, more and more people with different levels of education, with different experiences and self-presentation are striving to take up such a popular position. When applying for a job, you need to have good professional luggage behind you. It may be small, but if you present it correctly, the employer will definitely pay attention to you.
Structure
A well-written resume is the backbone without which everything falls apart. You can compose a resume of a fitness trainer, instructor using ready-made samples. To get started, look at how the club you are going to work in is positioning itself.
On the Internet sites, look at the basic information about him: the better it is presented, the more is required from your resume.
The structure of the resume.
- Personal data / representation. Name, patronymic, surname, year of birth. Your position. How do you imagine yourself. For example, a group program instructor. Or a fitness trainer, stretching and pilates trainer, etc. Leave the actual contact information: phone, e-mail, instant messengers.
- Education... Where did you study to be a fitness trainer (courses, school, higher educational institution), be sure to indicate your profile education. Due to the specifics of the profession, it is not the main one for the majority of job seekers. But the first on the list is not the university you graduated from (in 90% of cases in another specialty), but the courses that made you a coach.
- Additional education... In this paragraph, indicate what may not directly relate to the position. For example, you are currently studying to be a psychologist. Here you can also note your previous educational achievements, related professions.For example, you studied at the Children's and Youth Sports School, were involved in track and field athletics, have a category, etc.
- work experience... Here you need to chronologically build your professional coaching activities. But if there are a lot of items in the list, leave only the main ones. If you are a coach with no work experience, be honest about it. But put emphasis on practice during the learning period, on individual achievement.
- Photo. Usually the photo is located next to the item "Personal data". Of course, applying for the position of a fitness trainer, you need to show your own form. A high-quality photo from the gym, from the place of training, in shape and good mood will be the best illustrative support for a resume.
- Professional responsibilities. List the functionality that you performed, what specifically did you do. You can tell in more detail which groups you worked with, which direction you mastered.
- Personal qualities... Literally 5-6 words that characterize you as a person.
- Additional Information... Here you can indicate whether you are married or have children. It also notes knowledge of foreign languages, driving experience and other information that only indirectly relates to professional activities.
It is not always appropriate to state the level of the desired salary on the resume. Do this only if you are a free agent and plan to host a competition among potential employers yourself. If you are sending your resume to a specific company, the financial issue will be discussed after you are invited to work (or at least for an interview).
What shouldn't you write?
There are points and remarks that discredit any resume. They must be avoided.
Don't write about:
- bad work experience;
- the reasons for dismissal from the previous job, if they imply negative information about the previous employer (even if he really deserves negative reviews);
- lack of experience;
- all previous jobs not related to the position of a fitness trainer;
- "Frightening" personal qualities (write "fair", not "truth-teller", "attentive", not "curious", "demanding", not "principled").
The resume should not contain boastfulness, snobbery, embellished information. The employer should not have the feeling that there is “a lot” of this applicant, how persistent and even annoying he is.
