How to indicate education in a resume?

The "Education" column is no less important information than information about personal and professional qualities and places of previous work. There is no point in hiding this data. After all, by default, the employer, not finding information about your special training program, will think that after school you went to the factory or worked as a courier - in general, you were doing unremarkable work.

Depending on how the education was received according to the university program, in addition to higher (completed), its following types are distinguished.

1. Specialized secondary - the student studied at a college or technical school.
2. Incomplete higher education - early interrupted training, based on the results of which a corresponding certificate is issued. The reasons for the status of incomplete higher education are the following reasons: leaving for the army, interruption of training for health reasons (academic leave for a year), expulsion for academic failure (not completely passed off tests, exams), not passed final certification (unsatisfactory passed state exams).
3. Incomplete higher - a certificate is issued when a promising student got a job in one of the firms, work in which will improve his current university program, and also promise him early and significant career advancement. In this case, the employer requests an appropriate certificate. At the same time, the student continues his studies, but switches to a special, reduced mode of work and / or changes the form of training from daytime to evening or part-time.

If a student studied well, which was confirmed by impeccably passed sessions and practice, instead of the usual diploma, he is given a red one (with honors). At the same time, there should not be triples for term papers / projects and for the results of passed exams. At least three quarters of the total number of ratings are exclusively "A".

Yesterday's student can receive special education by enrolling in postgraduate, magistracy, doctoral studies. Deepening and expanding the educational program is rather voluntary. If you graduated in radio engineering, then indicate, for example, information about the completion of courses on the repair and maintenance of smartphones and tablets with Android, as well as about taking courses on the topic of increasing sales and improving the effectiveness of advertising.

But it is not necessary to indicate that you, for example, have taken courses in cutting and sewing - even if this is your hobbywith which you occupied yourself in your free time from work. The employer views this aspect as a circumstance that may interfere with work. It may prevent you from getting a job as a cellular base station engineer.

Training is an aid to your postgraduate program that you have mastered or continue to learn. It is useful for the same radio specialist, for example, to take an advanced English course for engineers (to pass technical English). He will not be hampered by courses in coaching, display advertising, promotion and website promotion. Such trainings, in turn, contribute to the promotion of this specialist in the labor market.

Another example: it is useful for a specialist in computer science and management, information systems to take advanced courses of a web programmer or layout designer. Even without finding a main job in any company, they make good money, for example, on layout and website promotion - they carry out large orders unofficially and for different, independent customers.

To get the desired job, vacancy, correctly indicate your data on education. Whether it will be the main one, whether it will be additional or not - it does not matter, but it should coincide with the topic of the desired position. Additional advanced training courses are not indicated before the information on basic education. Be sure to indicate the type and type of course (language, computer). The essence of the training program is also clearly stated: if these are programming courses, indicate the programming languages ​​that you have mastered.
