Hat with a pattern of braids
Knits are always popular. And even a novice needlewoman can knit a soft and warm hat in one evening. Models made with embossed braids look especially beautiful and original.
Models
The hat can be completely tied with braids, but sometimes this pattern adorns only part of the headdress. An example of this is knitted hats with a lapel. Often the lapel is knitted separately with a large oblique in the middle, while the product itself is made with a simple knit.
Hat ties can be made in the form of a braid: usually such models are chosen by young girls who are not afraid of fashionable experiments. Often this detail adorns children's hats.
Hats with Aran patterns, decorated with fur fragments (fur can be natural or artificial), are popular with many fashionistas. In some models, inserts from yarn of a different texture are used, for example, for tying an edge.
Styles
With braids, you can knit a simple beanie hat that fits your head tightly. A sock hat, fashionable lately, looks beautiful with a pattern of braids. Moreover, horizontal (transverse) knitting is often used in the manufacture of this product.
This exquisite pattern is also suitable for knitting berets, in which the fabric initially expands and then narrows). The beret can also be cut from several separately connected gussets, then the embossed braids will rush towards the center.
Over the past few seasons, earflaps have been in wide demand; they have already become a familiar attribute of urban style. Such products are often made of Aran knitting.
A knitted hat with a pompom looks cute, especially if it is made of natural fur.The "braid" pattern may well adorn extravagant knitted helmets worn by extraordinary young ladies, as well as original hats with ears. This embossed pattern is also appropriate on a hat with a visor, while the visor itself is made out with an elastic band, hosiery or garter stitch.
Varieties of patterns
The braid pattern has many varieties. Braids are large and small, voluminous and relatively flat, monochromatic and contrasting. If you choose a hat with such a pattern, then focus on your facial features: the larger they are, the larger the pattern should be.
The distance between the braids (usually purl loops) can be different - in accordance with this, they are rare and frequent on the canvas. In addition, it should be borne in mind that the Aran pattern, due to its bulk, requires a higher consumption of yarn (20% more than a smooth fabric). An important point is the transition from the elastic of the hat (if, of course, there is one) to the main relief pattern. If you leave the number of loops unchanged, then the canvas will turn out to be tightened, and the hat will be tight. Experienced needlewomen, after the elastic, add a couple of loops for each tourniquet.
In general, the braid is formed by simply crossing a certain number of loops (for this purpose, an auxiliary knitting needle or an ordinary pin is used). Bundles can be of different sizes: 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, etc. A large volumetric braid (also called wide, triple or royal) consists of three bundles, each of which usually has up to 7 loops. Two of the three bundles intersect at a certain distance.
Standard double braids (from two bundles) can, in turn, be combined with each other - this is how a complex braid is obtained (moreover, the intersection in each group occurs at the same distance in opposite directions.
Crossed loops form rhombuses upon further expansion. Also, when knitting hats, the principle of bundling is used to obtain a "mesh" - in this case, one front loop intersects with one purl, forming smooth diagonal lines.
Let's name a few more popular Aran patterns: "herringbone" (an inverted garland of braids), "eights with crossed loops", diamond-shaped braids (a simple pattern for children's knitting), braids-bows (also suitable for children's things). An interesting pattern - interrupted braids, are neat fragments, similar to belt buckles, as if ribbons threaded through the canvas. In the "fantasy braids" pattern, two braids gradually merge into one, and then branch again into two.
Openwork braids are popular as a pattern for autumn hats - voluminous braids combined with small holes that are formed when using crochet loops. Openwork can be located inside the braid or along its edge, openwork curls or petals can depart from the braids - the creative imagination here is limited only by the skill of the needlewoman. An interesting pattern is an openwork garland of braids.
Color solutions
Hats with braids are knitted in various colors. Basically, these are plain products, the Aran pattern looks especially advantageous on a white canvas made of smooth threads (however, as well as on other light shades). Gradient products are interesting - when one shade smoothly passes into another (for example, pink through white - into blue, or violet through blue - into white). Some needlewomen knit colored braids on a contrasting fabric.
When choosing the color of a knitted hat, you should focus on your complexion and hair. Red or pink will visually add blush and refresh the skin. White color will set off dark skin and accentuate pale skin even more.
Girls with dark hair should not wear a black hat - it looks boring. Better stop on a burgundy or purple shade. Knitted hats in gray and blue tones suit red-haired young ladies.
Material
The braid pattern is most effectively obtained from thick yarn - first of all, it is natural wool (especially high-quality merino or alpaca). If you want a more budgetary option, choose mixed options, acrylic or dense microfiber. Warm mohair hats with Aran patterns look especially cozy and home-like. Note that such a pattern is usually not knitted from thin threads (cotton, viscose), since it will not have an effective volume in this case.
Brands
Many well-known brands often present collections of knitted hats, where the pattern of braids is invariably present.
- The British brand Burberry offers hats with braids in soothing colors, invariably decorated with bright polar fox pom-poms (yellow-green, blue-blue, red-purple). The products are made from a combination of natural wool with high quality cashmere. The caps are decorated with an embossed corporate logo on a metal strap.
- The Italian brand Tranini presents its customers with stylish knitted snoods with braids, as well as simple tight-fitting beanies. Hats made from 100% cashmere wool are included with gloves.
- The collection of the Dispacci company (also Italy) presents beautiful hats with pompoms (yarn is a combination of natural wool, mohair and viscose), knitted with embossed braids.
- The collection of the German brand Seeberger, which has been producing hats for more than a hundred years, features charming warm hats with a diamond pattern, as well as berets made of garter stitch with large braids. The products are made from a combination of wool and acrylic.
- The Russian brand Teplo ° produces classic Aran-knit beanie hats made of acrylic with pom-poms, as well as earflaps with ties on a fleece lining. Another highlight of the company is knitted hats with earflaps, warmed with faux fur.
- The Optri company (Ufa) produces high-quality knitted hats using foreign equipment. Highly qualified designers and technologists are involved in the development of models, among which there are many products with braids. The best domestic and imported yarn (Italian, Bulgarian, Belarusian) is used as raw material for headwear. Among the products of the brand are various styles (beanie hats, with a visor, with a pompom).
- The Moscow company "Knitwear Factory No. 1", which has been specializing in the production of knitted knitwear for eight years, also produces hats with braids. As a rule, these are models with a wide lapel, many are decorated with a pom-pom.
What to wear with?
- A hat knitted with braids looks harmoniously with a down jacket or a park. They can match in tone or be contrasting (in the latter case, it is advisable to choose a scarf to match the hat). Jeans, a tote bag and flat boots work well for this look. For a fur coat, you can pick up an elegant beret with an Aranian pattern of restrained colors.
- A mischievous hat with a pom-pom made of yarn or fur will be appropriate in a duet with a sheepskin coat - you will create a playful and creative look. Moreover, the headdress can be of a bright color (for example, catchy blue). Note that a hat knitted with braids should not be combined with a classic coat or suit, unless, of course, you do not like shocking.
- A lightweight hat with a braid pattern looks great with a knitted tunic and leggings. On top of such a set, you can put on a denim or leather jacket. Also, a cardigan or sweater knitted with the same pattern or one color scheme will be appropriate with this headdress.
- An original and bold look will turn out if you wear a hat with an Aran pattern with a long dress and a short jacket or poncho. It should be borne in mind that knitted hats with ears look cute on long-haired girls.
