Raw materials are collected by hand, with the help of combing the animals during the spring molt, when there is no longer any fear that they will freeze. Goats, whose undercoat is used, are bred in several countries, but the raw materials are not equally good everywhere.

The best material is considered to be the one that is collected in China and Mongolia, and in Iran, India and Afghanistan, it is slightly tougher.

Due to the fact that the raw materials are not so common, and because of the manual technology of collecting the undercoat, cashmere products, including scarves, are expensive.

There are two types of this material: cashmere itself and the more elite, rare and expensive - pashmina, which is distinguished by its subtlety.

Cashmere is slightly thicker than pashmina and is not as expensive for its price, but still, its cost is higher than that of ordinary woolen scarves. That is why large and famous fashion houses have collections with cashmere scarves.

Cashmere products, although rather thin, are actually very warm, while their weight is low. In addition, this material is very pleasant to the touch, soft, does not cause allergies and irritations, and does not prick.

If silk is added to the composition of cashmere, the scarf turns out to be smooth, with a special shine, and cheaper. Silk is added precisely in order to reduce the price of the product and increase the wear resistance.But even without impurities, cashmere can last for many years, while maintaining an excellent appearance, since it does not roll.

We should also talk about prints, because geometric checkered patterns are very popular on scarves, for example, from the Burberry brand. Of course, other designs are also found on cashmere scarves, but much less often, and one of the fashionable novelties was the application of one's initials using embroidery.

Cashmere is considered an elite material, products made from it are quite expensive, but still it is a welcome acquisition for many women and men. The presence of demand increases the chance of encountering a counterfeit. A completely logical question is brewing: how to choose a good scarf? To avoid buying a low-quality product, you should know a few rules.

• The appearance of real cashmere should not be smooth and uniform, flat. It is quite textured, matte. The scarf will be smooth and shiny only if silk is added or, which is less often indicated in the composition, synthetics. Cashmere is soft and delicate, should not leave unpleasant sensations in contact with the skin, and begins to warm even after a short contact.

• The peculiarity of natural cashmere is that when dyed, it cannot be too bright. The material is dyed by hand, and due to the true natural colors, the final shade is a little smoky. You should especially look at white scarves, since cashmere of this color is a rarity.

• It is enough to be vigilant and check the composition on the scarf label to make sure that one hundred percent cashmere product is in front of you, with natural impurities (wool and silk), or a synthetic product, in which there are more than ten percent of artificial materials.

In order not to harm an expensive beautiful scarf, you should know how to wash it correctly. First, you should check the label and find out what kind of wash the manufacturer allows.We are talking about both manual and machine methods.

When washing in a machine, the water temperature should not be higher than forty degrees. Washing and drying modes should be gentle, delicate, like detergents. It is best to purchase special powders or gels for cashmere and wool.

However, most often cashmere scarves are washed by hand. As in the case of machine washing, the water should not be very hot, only lukewarm. It is best to use mild detergents.

The squeezing process is also important, since cashmere cannot be rubbed or twisted. You should gently squeeze out the foam and rinse the product under water to get rid of any remaining cleaning agents. Cashmere should not be left wet, squeeze it out carefully, but carefully, otherwise it can get an unpleasant odor and attract the attention of moths.

Care should be taken when drying. The washed cashmere must not be stretched, and accordingly, it should not be dried by hanging it on a hanger or clothesline. It is best to spread it on a flat surface over a towel to dry naturally. In no case should the scarf be placed next to a radiator or in a sunny area.

After the scarf is dry, remove the pellets if a small amount appears after washing. To smooth out small bruises, you should walk along the canvas with a cold iron, pressing on the unevenness.
