For several years now, shatush on blond hair has not gone out of fashion. With the help of such a painting, you can effectively emphasize the beauty of the hair, refresh the complexion and add extra volume to the curls.

What it is?

Shatush is one of the variations of highlighting, which allows you to create a stylish transition from darker to lighter tones on your hair: as a result, you get the original effect of hair burnt out in the hot sun. Traditionally, in this case, a couple of light tones are used, close to each other - thanks to their combination, a barely noticeable, but very beautiful overflow on the curls is created.

Usually, in this technique, the strands are dyed along the entire length, but the roots are not affected, therefore, when hair regrowth, the border between the native and colored areas remains aesthetic and attractive. The technique looks spectacular on short, medium and elongated curls, curly and straight. For several seasons, shatush was used exclusively by brunettes, but not so long ago stylists offered quite interesting coloring options for blondes.

Shatush for blonde hair is sometimes confused with balayazh and bronding, they have a lot in common - they are all based on contrasting toning of the roots and ends. However, shatush is considered a more gentle procedure, since only a small part of the hair is affected here, in addition, for blondes, in most cases, ammonia-free dyes are used. This coloring is optimal for young ladies who want a change in appearance, but are afraid to ruin their hair.

Shatush on the owners of a light shock looks very natural, it is completely unobtrusive. For comparison: balayage and gradient are more effective on dark and light brown strands, while bronding is applied only to black and dark brown hair.

Shatush has other advantages in comparison with other coloring techniques:

  • looks as natural as possible;
  • makes the natural hair color deeper and richer;
  • effectively masks gray hair.

However, this coloration has its drawbacks. Shatush should not be used by blondes with dry split hair ends - in this case, the procedure will only worsen the situation, and the hair will more resemble a bundle of straw than a spectacular and stylish head. If you are determined to resort to this method of coloring, then be prepared to first treat your hair with special masks, balms and oils. And, of course, it is better to cut the split ends before manipulation.

Shatush is very difficult to perform, it is almost impossible to make it at home - it will resemble the simplest highlighting. It is better to turn to an experienced master in a beauty salon, where they can not only correctly choose the shade, but also apply it correctly to the curls, so as to achieve a stylish effect of burnt hair. Shatush is not done on ultra-short hair - the minimum length of the strands in this case should be up to the middle of the neck, if the hair is shorter, the result will be untidy and unattractive.

How to choose the right color?

In order to choose the right shades, it is imperative to take into account both the main tone of the head of hair and the color type of the woman, and only after that select the appropriate color scheme for your shock. Among the most fashionable trends are shades such as:

  • pearl;
  • caramel;
  • ashen;
  • beige;
  • walnut;
  • wheat;
  • golden.

Women of the spring color type should give preference to warm tones - honey, as well as wheat and light golden. Cold colors are not suitable here, especially when painting the house on your own. Light brown tones are suitable for the autumn type, and it is better to give preference to cold shades.

The winter color type is quite far from the classic blonde, but if, nevertheless, such women strive to become blond beauties by all means, exceptionally cold colors are suitable for them, therefore, for coloring using the shatush technique, it is better for them to use ash, platinum and pearls options.

But for the summer, stylists recommend both cold and warm tones, so here you can apply the entire color scheme suitable for light hair.

When choosing a color, you should also take into account some restrictions:

  • if the skin has a pronounced blush or is prone to redness - it is better not to use pink, salmon and coral shades;
  • owners of pale faces should not dye the strands in golden shades;
  • platinum and ash colors are not suitable for women over 40, they emphasize even the smallest wrinkles and visually add a few extra years.

Hair coloring of different lengths

As already mentioned, shatush is a complex technique, and the ideal result can only be achieved in the salon in the hands of an experienced craftsman. However, if you are absolutely confident in your own abilities, then you can try to make a shatush at home. In this case, blondes have a clear advantage - the coloring is not radical, perhaps all mistakes are quite easy to correct. To carry out such coloring, you should prepare everything you need, namely:

  • brightening paint;
  • tonic of the main color;
  • comb;
  • gloves;
  • a brush or sponge for applying the coloring paste;
  • a cape to protect your shoulders and clothing.

We pay special attention to the fact that paint can be not only liquid, but also made in the form of powder - these are the compositions that professional stylists prefer. However, for coloring at home, you can stop at more affordable, but no less effective paints - L'Oreal and Garnier - they have created a special series for ombre, which can be taken for coloring using the shatush technique.

Short

To dye short hair, first, the entire head of hair should be divided into small strands, and then collect each with special clips-clothespins. Each collected bunch is well combed so that the hair sticks out, after which the coloring pigment is applied with sweeping and uneven strokes. Usually, the darkest shade is smeared on the roots, a slightly lighter shade in the middle, and the ends of the hair are covered with the palest composition.

Dye on short hair should not be kept for too long - 20 minutes is enough to get the most natural effect. After a long time, the shovel is washed with running water and shampoo and, if desired, the tips are tinted.

Average

Technically, dyeing curls of medium length is almost the same as coloring short strands, the exception here is that not all hair is processed, but individual strands of small thickness are selected in random order, after which they are also combed and smeared with short strokes, without affecting the area near the roots.

Approximately 50% of the curls are treated in a similar way, after which the hair is thoroughly washed and covered with a toning balm, left for 10-15 minutes and washed off again.

Long

At home, long hair is dyed in the same way as medium hair, but here, as a rule, they collect not several small bundles of hair, but one large tail on the top of the head, comb it well and cover it with paint. In salon conditions, the shatush for long strands is made without fleece. Step by step, this technique looks like this:

  • for a start, the master chooses several curls from the entire mop in random order and fixes them in one bundle;
  • the prepared lightening paint is applied with a brush or hands, less often using a rounded comb so as to avoid uniform distribution of the paste, the intensity of lightening is determined in any order;
  • the composition is kept on the hair for 10 to 40 minutes, after which the paint is washed off with shampoo;
  • professional tonics are applied to the hair, which give the desired shade to the hair so that it is harmoniously combined with the color of the native strands.

The coloring of the bangs deserves special attention. In most cases, when coloring the shatush, it is left in its native color, but it should be borne in mind that asymmetric or oblique bangs are best combined with such coloring. They look great together with colored strands, visually lengthen and refine the face. The look is feminine and extremely elegant.

Regardless of the length of the hair, all ladies who intend to master the shatush on blond hair at home need to adhere to a number of conditions. The paint should be applied to dirty strands, it is advisable to wash your hair no later than a day before painting - in this case, sebum protects the hair shaft from the aggressive effects of coloring components, and the hair retains its healthy and well-groomed appearance after staining.

When all the paint is completely washed off from the curls, be sure to apply a conditioner balm to the strands - this will allow you to smooth out the curls that have been strongly combed back as painlessly as possible. After coloring, use only special shampoos without sulfates - they wash the paint out of the hair.

Blonde hair is more porous than dark hair, so it suffers quite a lot in any aggressive environment. After dyeing, make it a rule to use regenerating masks and other treatment complexes once a week to maintain the luxurious look of your hair.

If you notice that your mop has become too brittle - give preference to shampoos and balms based on silicone - they create a protective sheath around the hair and protect it from splitting and excessive dryness.

After staining, the head should not be washed with too hot water, it is also recommended to minimize any thermal effects - using an iron and curling iron for styling, and it is better to switch the hair dryer to a cold mode.
