Progress does not stand still - long gone are the days when massive TVs stood on voluminous bedside tables. Plasma panels have replaced them these days. That is why there was a need for special furniture - a cabinet with a niche for a TV could be a suitable option.

Peculiarities

A TV is most often placed in a living room or bedroom - in both cases, you can use functional cabinets for plasma.

Such models perform several functions at once:

  • used to install television equipment;
  • become a place for placing clothes and other things;
  • serve as an element of decor for the entire room as a whole.

When choosing the right cabinet model, several important factors should be taken into account:

  • the size of the furniture should correspond to both the size of the TV and the size of the entire hall as a whole;
  • the stylistic design of the block should be in harmony with the interior;
  • the module should be placed so that it is equally convenient to watch TV from anywhere in the room.

A cabinet with a niche for a plasma panel must be equipped with special storage systems so that all kinds of decorative elements or necessary things can be placed on the shelves. Moreover, the structure itself can be both open and closed.

The choice of color should obey the general color scheme of the interior, most often white, black models, as well as wood-like cabinets are on sale.

Varieties

Cabinets may differ in design, shape, size, materials used.

Design

Depending on the design features, there are several types of cabinets with a niche for plasma.

Direct

Such models are mounted along one line, they often occupy the entire wall of the living room. Usually they are equipped with several compartments designed for different purposes, as well as additional attachments.

Corner

These options are optimal for small living rooms. Such cabinets can be either directly corner or linear, but with corner shelves for the cabinet.

Radial

These cabinets are among the most unusual options, they are distinguished by a spherical convex shape, most often such structures have rather impressive dimensions, therefore they are suitable only for spacious rooms.

Embedded

Such options look perfect in living rooms where there are recesses or free niches. Their walls are usually used as side elements of the cabinet, due to the absence of separate structural elements, ease of installation of the TV is provided and a fairly affordable price of the module.

Headsets stand apart, in which a niche for a TV is located between a pair of cabinets or in the center of one module. Alternatively, you can purchase a model with a cabinet under the panel - it can be placed to the right or left of the cabinet.

Materials (edit)

For the manufacture of cabinets with a TV niche use a variety of materials:

  • wood (such models are the most beautiful, practical and at the same time expensive);
  • Chipboard (the most budgetary option, however, such materials sometimes contain formaldehyde, therefore, are dangerous for placement in living rooms);
  • metal (such models are strong and durable, but they are rarely purchased in the living room, since they are too massive and can be dangerous for babies);
  • plywood (this is the best option in terms of price and quality, the material makes quite high-quality, practical and beautiful cabinets).

Dimensions and shape

A cabinet with a TV niche can be produced in a variety of forms, the following types of structures are most common:

  • square - as a rule, such models have a small height;
  • rectangular - the most popular furniture modules, their height can reach 2 m, and the place for the plasma is located at a distance of 50-60 cm from the floor;
  • triangular - these options are most often found in corner cabinets.

The dimensions of the structures may vary, but typical products have standard parameters: height - 1.5-2 m, width - from 80 cm to 3.5 m (this parameter largely depends on the presence of additional sections and extensions designed to store various items), the depth, as a rule, is in the range of 40-80 cm.

In stores you can find many different cabinets, which can have different configurations and sizes, so when choosing a model for a home, you should take into account not only your personal preferences, but also the footage of the room.

Popular models

The most popular are two options for cabinets with a shelf for a plasma panel.

Wall slide

In recent years, the walls in which the TV is placed on the front of the cabinet have been very popular - this is very ergonomic, practical and convenient. However, such models are too massive, so the designers have developed mini-versions, which are better known as roller coasters. Such designs are a combination of several blocks for very different purposes.

Traditionally, the slides include:

  • narrow pencil cases;
  • racks;
  • sets of adjacent shelves;
  • low bedside tables;
  • hanging shelves.

All elements of the slide are attached separately, but close to each other so that the feeling of one block is created - the slide does not have a common frame, each section is stationary, and at any time they can be interchanged, forming a new design.

Sliding wardrobe with a niche

In this case, the built-in niche can be placed anywhere in the structure, usually it is not made as deep as all the other shelves - this is necessary in order to provide a sufficient viewing angle. Most often, the modules are closed, but niche options with sashes are possible.

Features of choice

In order not to be mistaken with the purchase of a cabinet, some rules must be followed.

  1. The technique must be purchased before the furniture. Then you can design the closet correctly.
  2. Take care in advance about the placement of the outlet, as well as the free pulling of wires to it.
  3. The niche should not be too cramped and should not exactly repeat the dimensions of the screen - there must certainly be free space for air circulation and the necessary cooling.

Do not forget that any equipment heats up during operation, so do not expose yourself to the risk of fire.
