When buying a musical instrument, it is important to store it properly. To protect against external influences, special covers were invented. Cases are made from different materials that differ from each other in terms of rigidity.

Covers come in hard, semi-rigid, and soft covers. Hard cases are usually made from polyurethane foam and polycarbonate.

Polyurethane foam is a synthetic material that consists of an inert foam gas phase. It can be firm and elastic. Foam rubber belongs to the elastic material. Polyurethane foam is characterized by high strength and thermal insulation properties. Polycarbonate is a polyester of carbonic acid. It is a plastic with high impact resistance and good strength.

What materials are they made of?

For hard cases, a hard material is always used, which ensures reliable storage and safe transportation of the musical instrument. Such a case cools down slowly in the cold, which makes it possible to protect the synthesizer from sudden temperature changes. The tool case can be used to carry the tool even in the compartment of the aircraft. There are also hard cases made of metal, plywood, artificial rubber.

A plastic frame is installed inside the device, where the synthesizer is inserted. The tight design prevents the keyboard from moving when you move it. The inside of the case is finished with high-quality and beautiful fabric, there are comfortable rubber handles and a compartment for accessories. The product is well suited for a 61-key synthesizer and other instruments.

Besides hard cases, there are semi-hard cases. These cases are made of three-layer nylon fabric, lining and padding. The case has a hard plastic shape inside in the form of an inner frame. Additionally, the case is sealed with soft foam.Belts are sewn inside the product to fix the tool. Some models have casters.

The most economical option is soft covers. They are made of tough waterproof fabric, lining and foam rubber. The cases have pockets for storing accessories and a power supply. The soft case is lightweight, folds easily and takes up little space.

There are covers for a specific model of synthesizer, and universal products are also sold, suitable for almost all types of instrument.

The cover must be selected for the number of keys in the synthesizer. The top of the fabric cases is made of polyester, nylon, teza, tarpaulin. These are reinforced waterproof fabrics that are often used for sewing awnings. They protect well from dust, dirt and water. Insulation (seal) for soft covers is most often made of foam, but there is also polyurethane foam.

Foam rubber protects the product from sudden temperature changes, but over time, its quality deteriorates. It can dry out and crumble. The thickness of the foam insulation is up to 10 cm. The polyurethane foam seal is usually sheet, up to 15 mm in thickness. It is tough and more durable than foam. Such seals can be easily replaced by yourself.

Lining of soft covers are sewn from such fabrics: felt, flock, knitwear, spandbond, fleece and others. The fittings depend on the price. Plastic fittings YKK, Duraflex are more expensive and are a more reliable option. Inside the soft products there are straps for fixing the synthesizer. The handles of the cases are made of fabric, often made in such a way that the product can be carried like a backpack.

Design

Case models have been specially created for each instrument. For 61- and 74-key synthesizers, there will be cases of different sizes. Hard cases are equipped with wheels and locks, there are special bumpers in the corners. The cases are available in econom and pro trim levels.

Products of the pro category are made of more durable and high-quality materials, have a patented fixation system.

There can also be additional aluminum mounts on the outer side of the case for visual appeal and maximum impact protection.
