A holiday enveloped in an atmosphere of love and tenderness, Valentine's Day is especially remembered for gifts. As a rule, they are created with their own hands. Scrapbooking valentines are miniature masterpieces that everyone, without exception, can do. The main thing is to be patient and show imagination.

Required materials and tools

Scrapbooking can be described as a type of handicraft, which consists in the creation of decorated albums, notebooks and postcards.

This passion allows us to create unique products "with a soul".

Usually, a hobby begins with simple things... For example, from the design of a small postcard.

Making a scrapbooking valentine involves certain ingredients.

  • Paper. It is the basis of the technique and differs in structure. For example, cardboard is taken as a basis, and various shapes are cut out of decorative. The paper should be of different colors with three-dimensional embossing.
  • Flowers... They can be "live" or dried, as well as made of fabric.
  • Textile. Various ribbons, laces and ropes. Antiques from the "grandmother's" chest (velvet ribbons or brocade braid) are ideal.
  • Buttons and beads... These elements should be present in large quantities, since without them a full-fledged design will not work.
  • Decals. A very important element of scrapbooking, with the help of which you get a colorful valentine with the image of hearts and a curly cupid.
  • Scotch tape and glue. The latter should be special, in no case PVA. Otherwise, the paper will “wrinkle” and stains will appear on it.For fixing decor and images, use double-sided tape or hot melt glue (for fixing jewelry made of metal or buttons).
  • Varnish and paint. A beautiful, bright wish, written on the postcard "by hand", will undoubtedly please your soul mate.
  • Curly scissors and cutters. With the help of the latter, it will turn out to instantly cut a stack of paper and create a clear cut in a certain image.
  • Hole puncher. For a Valentine, one or two such mechanical devices are enough. It is best to use multifunctional hole punches.
  • Acrylic stamps. For these postcards, "With love" or "Dear person" are perfect.

Master Class

In order to create a wonderful valentine card using the scrapbooking technique, pay attention to the presented step-by-step instructions. You will need:

  1. cardboard and corrugated paper;
  2. lace (white or pink);
  3. tulle (mesh fabric);
  4. transparent glue "Moment";
  5. a set of beads;
  6. braid;
  7. glitter (colored particles of paper, glass or plastic);
  8. curly scissors.

Cut out a heart from plain paper as a sample. Create the base of the card by folding the cardboard in half. We apply the sample to the cardboard, outline the outline with a pencil and cut out a two-page valentine.

We take corrugated paper, cut out the heart according to the sample and glue it on our Valentine's card. Take a lace strip and cut it into 2 pieces. We glue them "obliquely" to the outside of the valentine. We glue the beads on the braid and attach them along the edges of the valentine (parallel to the lace).

Cut out a miniature mug from tulle and glue it in the right corner of the postcard. We attach a decorative rose to it. In the center of the valentine's day we place the image of a cupid with an arrow. Fill the "voids" with glitter.

On the inside of the postcard (by analogy with the outside) we glue a heart made of corrugated paper.

Thus, we will hide the edges of the lace strips bent inward.

We decorate the second part of the valentine with a gel pen with a sincere declaration of love or a wish.

Interesting ideas

Let's consider what kind of scrapbooking valentines are.

Single layer

It's best to start your creative impulse with the simplest options. We are talking about single-layer valentines. For their manufacture, you will need a minimum amount of materials and tools. You need pink cardboard, lace and colored threads. You can decorate a romantic heart-shaped card with a felt rose.

Stunning single layered valentines have a vintage look.

To do this, they take paper with the effect of antiquity, cut out the heart and give it a casual look. They decorate the postcard with vintage images, and leave a tender message of love on the back. Single-layer scrapbooking valentines look simple and soulful.

Multilayer

Another option involves creating "love" cards from several sheets. Multilayer booklet-shaped valentines look simply luxurious. To create it, you will need several types of cardboard, a hole punch and bright ribbons. And you can also paste photos into it, which capture the wonderful moments of spending time together with your beloved.

A multi-layered valentine can be made in the shape of an accordion. It is not difficult to make it, the main thing is to “turn on” the imagination. You will need heavy paper, which must be folded in an accordion shape. Next, we decorate each "section" with beads or decorative stones, not forgetting about warm declarations of love to a loved one. Scrapbooking layered hearts look stunning.

Volumetric

There is another version of these "valentines". They can be characterized as volumetric or 3D. For example, a paper "tunnel" looks incredibly beautiful. Its production requires many hours of painstaking work. But the result is worth it!

The scrapbooking technique with a colorful "filling" turns out to be a gorgeous valentine.It is made by analogy with a standard postcard, but as soon as you open it, beautiful cardboard hearts immediately appear.

Valentines 3D, no doubt, will delight your soul mate.
