Many varieties of slimes contain chemicals and dyes that leave marks on your hands. Such factors stop many parents from buying a toy. Self-made slimes have more benefits. This does not require expensive ingredients. For example, it can be made from toilet paper. There are many recipes for making plastic mass based on such a component. Toy products can be found in every home.

Role of toilet paper in slime

The toilet paper in homemade slime is designed to make the toy more airy. Thanks to this ingredient, the mass will be more pleasant to the touch, and its volume will slightly increase. An important nuance is the use of good quality paper (at least 2-3 layers). If you use single-layer options, then the effect will be the opposite - the mass will turn out to be dense, and it will become difficult to play with it.

Recipes

Products to quickly make a popular toy are always found in the kitchen or bathroom. If you take toilet paper as a basis, then you can supplement the recipe, for example, with soap, flour or starch, PVA glue, shampoo.

Thus, having the right version of paper at home, it will not be difficult to make a popular toy out of it. If some components are missing, there will always be others.

With water

This method of making slime allows you to save on PVA glue (some recipes involve the use of this component in a fairly large amount). You will need lens storage fluid to give your toy the right consistency, but you may not need to use it. Beautiful shades of ready-made masses can be given using acrylic paint.

Cooking process:

  1. Mix 20-35 milliliters of water with two tablespoons of any shampoo (or hair conditioner);
  2. the workpiece must be whipped to obtain a characteristic foam;
  3. Grind 15-20 centimeters of paper as much as possible and mix into the existing workpiece;
  4. mix 5 or 6 tablespoons of PVA glue;
  5. at the final stage, add a few drops of liquid for storing lenses (you can replace it with a remedy for the treatment of a cold, for example, "Naphthyzin") and half a teaspoon of acrylic paint of a suitable color;
  6. you must first knead the mass with a spoon, and then with your hands.

With soap

Homemade soap slime differs in consistency from toys made according to other recipes. It is more liquid, less stretching. The main advantage of this slime is its durability. An additional ingredient to toilet paper and soap is salt. You can add a few drops of any dye if desired.

Cooking process:

  1. pour one glass of soap into the container (be sure to have a thick consistency);
  2. chop paper of increased softness (several scraps) and leave to dissolve in soap for 10 minutes;
  3. in the second step, you can add dyes;
  4. add a pinch of salt to the soap mass (it is better to take a product with as small particles as possible);
  5. the mass will begin to acquire a thicker consistency, after which it must be thoroughly kneaded with your hands.

With starch

To make a toy, you will need toilet paper, starch (potato or corn version), shampoo. The volume of the components can be increased, but one must try to maintain the proportions. If the ratio of ingredients is violated, then the structure of the slime may be disrupted. It will be too thick or, conversely, runny.

Procedure:

  1. pour a few tablespoons of any shampoo into the container (3-4 tablespoons will be enough);
  2. Tear 3 or 4 pieces of paper into small pieces and add to the shampoo;
  3. within 5 minutes, the mass must be thoroughly mixed with your hands;
  4. then the workpiece should remain at rest for 10 minutes (during this time, the scraps of paper should completely dissolve);
  5. for the specified volume of ingredients, you will need about 3 teaspoons of starch;
  6. after adding the last component, the slime is kneaded again, as a result of which it should "curl up" and acquire the desired consistency.

With film mask

A feature of slime with the addition of a mask-film for the face is its viscous consistency and pleasant aroma. You can take any cosmetic product. Additionally, you will need shaving foam, washing gel and shampoo.

Manufacturing process:

  1. Tear several scraps of paper as finely as possible and pour 25-35 milliliters of water;
  2. add 10-15 milliliters of a film mask to the mass, add any dye if desired;
  3. The ingredients should be "infused" for 30 minutes, after which 2 tablespoons of shampoo, about 30 grams of shaving foam, 5 tablespoons of gel used for washing are added to them;
  4. if the consistency is too thick, you can dilute the mass with a little water and mix it again.

With flour and thick dishwashing liquid

This type of slime keeps its ideal shape well thanks to flour. You can play it for two days. Any type of dishwashing detergent works, but it should be thick. If you take the liquid version, the toy will change its density.

Recipe:

  1. Tear a few scraps of paper and mix with two tablespoons of household dishwashing liquid;
  2. mix the components thoroughly and leave for a while (so that the paper dissolves);
  3. the specified amount of ingredients will need half a teaspoon of flour;
  4. the components are re-kneaded, after which the toy will be ready for use.

Flour or starch based

A feature of this slime is its relatively short shelf life. You will only be able to play it for two days.This nuance is explained by the properties of flour and starch to take a solid consistency when mixed with liquids and the subsequent drying of the mass.

Procedure:

  1. tear at least 15 centimeters of paper into the smallest possible pieces;
  2. mix the workpiece with two tablespoons of shampoo (or replace with any hair conditioner);
  3. add a few drops of "Naphtizin";
  4. leave the workpiece for 10-15 minutes so that it takes on a thicker consistency;
  5. mix in half a teaspoon of flour and starch (potato, corn);
  6. then the workpiece must be thoroughly kneaded and left in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

With regular toothpaste

To create a slime in this case, you will additionally need shaving foam, any liquid remedy for the treatment of a cold, shampoo. It is not necessary to use dyes, but with them the toy will be brighter and more beautiful. Acrylic paint is also suitable as a coloring agent.

Step by step recipe:

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons of any toothpaste with a tablespoon of shampoo;
  2. add acrylic paints or dye to add color;
  3. tear the paper and stir in to the workpiece (you should get 6 tablespoons of the smallest pieces possible);
  4. add the contents of the container with six tablespoons of any foam that men use for shaving, and a few drops of "Naphthyzin";
  5. knead the workpiece thoroughly.

From plasticine

This option for making slime can be called the simplest and fastest. To prepare it, you will need three components - toilet paper, ordinary children's plasticine and any version of soap (always a liquid and thick consistency). Plasticine should be soft. If possible, it is better to replace it with a modeling dough. The advantage of this method is not only the minimum number of components, but also the ability not to use dyes.

Plasticine and other materials for creativity with a similar consistency are available in bright colors. You can even find options that glow in the dark.

Manufacturing process:

  1. the number of ingredients will have to be selected independently, but you can take 15 cm of toilet paper as a basis, which must be crushed;
  2. this amount will require one standard block of plasticine (or the same amount of modeling dough);
  3. knead the components with your hands, adding liquid soap to the desired consistency.

How to store the toy?

The rules for storing homemade toilet paper slime do not differ from the standard recommendations for these toys. The plastic mass is better to retain its properties if placed in a cold place. This can be a refrigerator (but not a freezer) or a balcony if it's winter outside.

The main thing is not to allow ice to appear. Otherwise, after defrosting, the toy will not return to its previous consistency and will be unusable.

Storage rules:

  • containers with lids are ideal (any jar or container will do);
  • a zip bag (such a storage medium is not inferior to sealed jars);
  • do not allow direct sunlight or exposure to heating devices;
  • too high air humidity (above 80 degrees) will cause the mass to be viscous, and it will begin to stick to your hands.

In some cases, if the slime has changed its consistency as a result of improper storage, it can be reanimated. For this, a small amount of water or Sodium Tetraborate is used. The substance is sold in pharmacies at an affordable price. Another way to bring it back to its original state is to add a little salt water or glue mixed with starch.

You cannot restore a toy if it has dried out to form a characteristic crust, become liquid under the influence of high temperatures, or become moldy. In the latter case, it must be thrown away immediately and in no case given to the child.
