Over time, slime - the favorite entertainment of modern children - can significantly lose in its size. However, this is not a reason to throw away the toy - it is quite possible to reanimate the slime with your own hands.

If the purchased slime, which was initially quite large, has decreased in size, then most likely this happened due to improper storage.

Moreover, the toy hardens, crusts and loses its stretch ability. Its mass is reduced, and its elasticity disappears. To avoid such a situation, it is important to always leave the slime in a hermetically sealed container, and keep the container itself away from heating appliances, maintaining the temperature from +2 to +4. Purchased samples are already sold in suitable packaging, and for homemade ones it is advised to use packaging from a cream or balm. It should be mentioned that the "chewing gum" can dry out due to too frequent use.

The fact that the slime has changed in size is also explained by the weather conditions. For example, a toy left on a balcony on a warm sunny day will begin to spread and change, and a toy forgotten in the freezer will dry out, harden and, as a result, shrink. This happens because high temperatures lead to the evaporation of volatiles.

Finally, resizing is possible even if the expiration date has expired. For purchased slimes, it is usually indicated on the package, and for homemade slimes, it does not go beyond 1-4 weeks.An expired toy can shrink and lose elasticity, in addition, when stretched, it collapses into fragments.

At home, even small children can make a slime more, although some methods may require the presence of parents.

The easiest way to restore the toy is to soak, followed by stretching. You need to do the following: take the slime in your hand and start kneading it, that is, pull in different directions, collect it into a lump, pause and stretch it again. This action should last at least 5 minutes. Next, a small container, for example, a shallow plastic bowl or container for food, is filled with half a glass (100 milliliters) of heated and always boiled water.

Upon completion, the toy is removed from the water and washed again. It is recommended to repeat the sequence of these actions about 3-4 times until the substance regains its elasticity and softness.

Salt injections are considered to be no less effective for restoring the game "chewing gum". To work in this case, you will need a syringe with a needle, water, salt and dry napkins. It all starts with the fact that a medium-sized container is filled with a couple of glasses of warm boiled water, after which 2-3 tablespoons of salt are poured into it. The slime is lowered into the solution for 5 minutes, then removed and thoroughly washed.

Excess moisture is removed from the surface with paper towels.

In the next step, the slime should receive a saline injection. 20 milliliters of warm water and one tablespoon of salt are mixed in a glass (although some connoisseurs believe that a couple of pinches are enough). It is important that the liquid is heated, but still not boiling water, otherwise the toy will be damaged. The syringe is filled with the solution, after which the injection is slowly given to the slime. It is recommended to repeat the procedure every 2-3 hours until the required volume of the “gum” is restored - usually three injections are enough for this. By the way, this recipe will work for both purchased and homemade samples.

If a child wants to try this method on his own, but he is not allowed to use needles, he can make a salt envelope. A shallow bowl is filled with warm water, after which the slime is placed in it for a few minutes. Further, a few pinches of salt are scattered on its surface, and the toy is folded in such a way as to look like an envelope. The resulting form should be gently rinsed for a couple of minutes so that both water and salt can be absorbed.

There are many ways to quickly and easily restore the game "gum". Some of them are universal, while others are recommended for specific varieties of slimes.

• Cornstarch is suitable for reconstitution of any purchased slime. The substance is carefully rolled out on the table and sprinkled with an even layer of powder - usually 20-30 grams of the ingredient is enough for a standard toy. The mass is thoroughly mixed, then rolled out again, and the procedure is repeated. It is important that about a quarter of an hour is spent on each kneading. If the finished slime turns out to be too dense, it will be possible to change the structure by adding shampoo.

• Ninja slime is characterized by the presence of a filler in the polymer composition: balls, beads or small figures. You can change its size by adding shampoo, fat cream, shower gel or similar products.So that the color of the slime does not change, it is important to select an additional ingredient of the appropriate shade. In addition, it is recommended to introduce odorless substances. So that the ninja does not lose its characteristics, it is also recommended to regularly cleanse it of dirt and mix in a couple of drops of toothpaste every few days.

• If a gentle butter slime is created at home, then to restore its size, you just need to increase the proportions of the components from which it is made. The purchased variety is modified by adding cream, shampoo or saline injections. The best option is the introduction of air plasticine, which, before mixing, must be pressed until smooth and soft. The introduction of starch or flour is also suitable. It is strongly not recommended to add tetraborate or glue to the butter.

• When enlarging a transparent slime, it is important to keep track of it so that it does not change its shade.and also retained its consistency. The easiest way is to add hot water to the mass in a 1: 1 ratio, which will not only improve the dimensions, but also contribute to better elasticity. With complicated stirring, the mixture can be sent to the microwave for a while, in which the medium temperature is maintained.

• For resuscitation of a fluffy slime, shaving foam and PVA glue are most often used. (or glue "Elmers"). In the first case, the additional ingredient is taken in equal proportions with the bulk, and in the second, the component is introduced slowly and in small portions. Moreover, the use of PVA glue also allows you to add used lens fluid, "snow" spray or sodium tetraborate to the recipe.

As for the universal methods of reanimating toys, their number is really impressive.

• Enlarge the slime with foam or shaving gel, moreover, the second method is preferable, since the foam is very sticky and gets dirty hands. The gel must be sprinkled twice on the rolled slime, and the foam must be squeezed out in a slightly smaller volume than that of the "gum" itself. The substance must be kneaded until it becomes soft and does not increase in size - usually 3-4 minutes are spent for this. If the slime begins to stick to your hands, then you can drop eye drops containing boric acid derivatives or sodium tetraborate on it.

• A combination of shaving foam and potato starch will help to save the toy. The dry mixture is poured first in the amount of 2 tablespoons, and everything is gently kneaded. In order not to stain the surface, it is better to pre-cover it with cling film or a plastic bag. Next, foam is added to the composition, and everything is kneaded for a few more minutes. This method will not only increase the size of the "chewing gum", but also make it more pleasant to the touch.

• You can enlarge the toy simply by using water. This technique is the simplest: after opening a tap with warm water, you should put a slime under it for a few minutes. It is better to periodically beat the substance all this time. The duration of the procedure should not last more than 2 minutes, otherwise the slime will stick to the hands and stretch worse. A fragrance will help get rid of the unpleasant smell of tap water.

• It is allowed to use kinetic sand to resuscitate a toy., but only if it is initially present in its composition. In this case, a tablespoon of dry ingredient is added to the slime, everything is kneaded until smooth, and the sequence is repeated. The advantage of this method is the ability to add any kinetic sand, regardless of the price.

• PVA glue can be used if the slime contains no gelatin and plasticine. In a small amount, it is poured into a plastic bag, which already contains a slime. Having tied the bag, it is necessary to knead its contents until smooth, and then, taking out the "gum", knead for another 5 minutes.

• It is also possible to combine glue and water in proportions of 1 to 1. The resulting solution is added drop by drop to the total mass.

• The reduced slime can be sprinkled with a couple of tablespoons of baby powder, then knead well.

• If plasticine is present in the composition, then this material is also suitable. A small piece is thoroughly mixed with the base, as a result of which the size of the "gum" increases almost three times.

• The addition of 10% alcohol tincture to the composition not only increases the size of the slime, but also improves its performance. For example, it begins to produce unusual sounds when pressed, and the consistency becomes better. The only thing to remember is that this component is not suitable for slimes containing glue.
