Dogs are loyal animals who love a person of any character and appearance, but this is not enough for people. They are constantly improving the working qualities, health, character, temperament of pets and will always work on breeding new breeds in Russia and abroad.

A man taught a dog in ancient times, from that moment an artificial one joined its natural selection. The dog required hunting, fighting and guard qualities, good health, strong body and devotion to the owner. For thousands of years, people have chosen puppies from just such dogs, forming persistent guard and hunting species.

Dog lovers almost immediately began to engage in selection and crossbreeding. With the development of genetic engineering, this process acquired a scientific basis and no longer took place blindly, at random, but based on the genotypes of donor individuals. To breed a new breed of dogs, the dog handler acts according to the following plan.

• Indicates the desired working qualities, character, exterior, size, type of coat, etc.
• When the image of the future dog is drawn up, donor breeds are determined, suitable for creating a new individual.
• The first pair of parents is selected. She must have pronounced desired qualities.
• Then, puppies are selected from the litter, which are most suitable for the intended image. In the future, inbreeding is used, that is, the crossing of related individuals with each other in order to consolidate the necessary qualities. Such family mating will occur with offspring of several generations.
• Further, donors of other suitable breeds are added to dogs obtained through related breeding.Puppies are selected that match the intended character. Crossing, therefore, will continue until the final result is obtained.

New species don't have to appear just yesterday. Pet breeds that have emerged in the last century also fall into this category. Species names are often associated with the breeding site.

It turned out to be an intelligent, good-natured dog, of average activity, which is easily trained and, if you take care of his upbringing, becomes an obedient pet.

The breed arose not so long ago, in the thirties of the last century, and it took another 30 years for the species to be recognized and registered as an independent one. East European Shepherds are service guard dogs. Their height is 65-75 cm, and their weight is 35-60 kg. Short-haired animal with a strong, muscular, slightly elongated body. The coat can have shades of red, gray, black with tan. On a proportional large head, the ears are erect.

One of the youngest dog breeds created by American breeders on the basis of the Toy Poodle, Bichon and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The result is an ideal decorative breed with hypoallergenic hair, cute doll face and smart look. An amazing dog that looks like a small puppy is still not recognized by dog ​​handlers.

The abbreviation of the first letters stands for Odessa Domestic Ideal Dog. Work on the breed began in Soviet times, but has not yet received full official recognition. The creators of ODISA had a task to bring an ideal small dog for keeping in close quarters. At that time, very few people heard about Spitz and Yorkies, and the cute lohmach does not hold out to their external data.

But he is kind, calm, with a cheerful character, small stature (up to 25 cm) and weight (up to 3 kg), with hypoallergenic wool. ODIS has a white or gray-white color, although it is small, but strong dog with strong immunity.

The St. Petersburg cynologists were faced with the task of creating a small decorative dog with a wide variety of coat colors. Many breeds participated in the creation of the pet, thanks to their abundance, orchids have red, black, brindle, beige, brown, like a chocolate, as well as zone and tan colors. Breeders continue to work on new shades.

The orchid is a compact dog, no more than 30 cm tall to the withers and weighing less than 3 kg. She has a unique head shape with non-standard hairs on her face and cute, drooping fluffy ears. The coat is long, soft, silky.

Not too well-known breed, bred on the basis of Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Great Danes, Weimaraners. Despite the fact that some progenitors are aggressive species, priters, excellent companions, are completely devoid of aggression. The breed has not yet received wide international recognition, except for the International Kennel Organization (IKU), which was surveyed in 2014. Primers are obedient, with a stable balanced nervous system, are completely non-conflicting and very loyal to their masters.

A small dog, measuring 27-37 cm and weighing up to 7 kg, combines the appearance of its ancestors - a color and a mask on the muzzle, like a pug, and a head like a beagle. Despite the fact that there were only two species of ancestors, the scarecrow does not belong to the mestizo, it is a well-developed and fixed breed. The pets took the best from the donor species and did not touch on the shortcomings. Hereditary diseases of the nasal cavity of pugs and the independent nature of beagles did not pass to them.

A small red dog with fluffy hair appeared 15 years ago through the efforts of the Russian zootechnician Y. Lokatosh. Breeds such as pug, Yorkshire terrier and Belgian griffin participated in its creation. The dog is smart, good-natured, easily gets along with children and other pets.

Some breeds are already fairly well known, but many are rare and expensive. People buy them for various reasons: they are not looking for easy ways, they love everything unknown, or they want a prestigious pet that their neighbor will definitely not have.

In any case, the owners of new breeds should know what awaits them.

• Most of the newly appeared species have not yet been recognized by international cynological associations, and therefore cannot participate in exhibitions and receive certificates. But they have the right to participate in club competitions and receive documents at this level. If the breed is recognized in a particular country, the pet acquires documents that correspond to the national pedigree of this state.
• When purchasing a dog of a new breed, the owner must be prepared for the fact that the formation of the exterior is not yet completely fixed, and the puppy may grow up unlike its parents or its further offspring will not give the expected result.
• The authors of new breeds, selling puppies, can set conditions for their owners: not to export them from countries, not to allow mating, or, conversely, provide a pet for mating in order to further form the breed.
