Beagle sizes: weight and height of dogs by months
The beagle breed belongs to hunting dogs. She is believed to be originally from England, since it was there that her breeding began for the first time. But even in ancient Greece, long before that, there were hounds that looked like beagles. At the moment, these animals are used as guards, but they can also be excellent friends. Therefore, they are increasingly purchased as pets.
What factors influence development?
Owners of this breed should be aware that these animals are very difficult to train. Bigleys are stubborn, they need a master with a firm hand and character. The main development time of these dogs is from birth to six months. In the same period, you need to intensively train. If you miss the moment, you will not be able to catch up in the future, the animal will already be uncontrollable and will bring a lot of trouble. The following factors affect the development of the beagle:
- the correct maintenance of the mother during the intrauterine development of puppies;
- adequate care for newborn babies;
- fresh air access;
- good affectionate attitude;
- a suitable temperature in the room in which the dogs are kept;
- quality food.
You can not feed these animals sweet, fatty, smoked. This will affect the general condition of the dogs in general.
As a reward, you can treat them with an apple and carrot. You also need to carry out anthelminthization in a timely manner and make sure that the diet has enough of all the necessary minerals and vitamins. The deficiency will affect the entire body of the dog, including the enamel of the teeth. An indicator of good development will be the presence of forty-two teeth in a seven-month-old puppy.
So that the cubs do not lag behind in height and weight, in the first month, underweight babies are applied to the rear, fuller nipples of the mother. And also, if there are more than six newborns in the litter, you should take care of artificial feeding. Infant formula in this case will not work, since it contains sugar, you need to choose food in accordance with the recommendations of the veterinarian.
After the absence from the mother, it is also worth taking the advice of a specialist. Beagles can be fed with special food, or with natural products. With any choice, a container of clean water should be placed next to the bowl of food to avoid digestive and stool problems, on which the height and weight of the dog largely depend.
A set of extra pounds is harmful to puppies, it is an extra load on their still weak skeletal system.
The owner needs to monitor the composition of the feed, the frequency of feeding and regularly weigh and measure his pet.
Besides, it is imperative to groom your coat, check your ears and cut your nails... Subject to all standards of caring for a beagle, this dog can live about 15 years of a happy life. There are rare cases when these dogs live longer than this period.
Standard sizes
Breed norms were approved in 1988 by the English Club:
- the weight;

The beagle color can be spotted, speckled and variegated. They are all subdivided into tricolor and bicolor. The main colors are white, black and red. The only option for mono color can only be a completely white coat color.

Description of development by periods
From birth to 3 months
In the first month, the puppy will gain about four times its birth weight. During this time, the cubs are very similar to each other, regardless of gender. The differences will only be visible by two months, when the puppies will look like a small copy of their parents.
By the age of three months, the cubs should gain weight about 6 kg, and their length at the withers will reach 30 cm. Normally, girls may be slightly smaller than boys throughout their developmental time.
3 to 6 months
During this period of time, the main development of the skeletal system, chest, hind and front limbs occurs. By six months, the weight doubles compared to the weight of a three-month kutenk. Growth reaches 35 cm.
6 to 12 months
Dogs gain their intended weight, growth reaches its maximum. In a year, a male dog grows up to 40 cm, a female individual - up to 38 cm. Within 12 months, a beagle must acquire all the developmental skills of an adult animal. At this age, it is already a full-fledged formed dog. The growth of girls sometimes ends even earlier, with the appearance of the first heat.
Psychologically, individuals of this breed are also already formed by this time and must comply with standard norms not only for physical development, but also for behavior. If the dog is properly raised, he will not be cowardly and aggressive.
A well-bred beagle has a stable psyche and knows how to obey its master.
