How to choose furniture for a small bedroom?

A small bedroom is not a reason to be upset. Furniture technologies are constantly evolving and make it possible to organize a functional space even in a small area. In addition, designers offer modern tricks to visually enlarge any room.

A bedroom with a small area has its own advantages. For example, the main solution to the problem of small space comes down to buying transforming furniture. As is known, such furniture is cheaper than purchased separately the same interior items, accordingly, furnishing a small bedroom, the owner saves a lot. Besides, for many people, it is a small bedroom that is psychologically more comfortable than a large room. It is easier to create coziness and a favorable atmosphere for relaxation in it.

You can place a large mirror above the bed, especially this trick will play well in a long bedroom setting, as the mirror image will expand the narrow space.

Returning to the wardrobe, it is worth noting its other advantage. For classic wardrobes, the door opens "towards itself", that is, during operation, such a cabinet makes the space even smaller. In addition, due to the small size of the bedroom, this is not always convenient - the opening doors hit against nearby objects or on the window sill. When opening, the compartment doors move to the right and left, absolutely without disturbing the interior of a small bedroom, and they do not interfere with walking around the room.

Even if the closet is large and seems inappropriate for placement in a small room, it will still be quite appropriate in cases where the owners have a large belongings, which will still have to be placed in a small bedroom.

If you need to furnish a narrow space in which a voluminous cabinet cannot be placed, then it is recommended to install lockers under or above the bed. When installing bedside boxes, make sure in advance that such an arrangement will be convenient and will not interfere with a sleepy person. Another option is immediately buying a bed with lockers at the headboard... In fact, the back of such a bed is a horizontal shelf on which you can place some of the things.

Also, designers advise choosing white designs when choosing a wardrobe for a small bedroom, they are especially suitable for the same snow-white room. If you add a juicy accent to such a bright space, then the room will turn out to be bright, cozy and even visually spacious.

If the choice of the owner of the apartment has stopped on bedside tables, then buy such models, the height of which will not exceed the height of the bed, otherwise they will look massive and voluminous and add even more cramped space to a small space. If the room is very tiny, then it is recommended to completely abandon the closet and store things in the wall in the living room.

When buying any furniture for a small bedroom give up luxurious design, volumetric drawings, let it be a small elegant ornament... All the excesses will look ridiculous in a small room. The same applies to fans of figurines, photographs, paintings - try to avoid placing these items as much as possible.

Another tip for the color of the furniture: do not buy dark or too bright, all colors should be restrained, soft. In a small room, it is permissible to use only one bright accent.

When arranging furniture in a small room, it is necessary to take into account not only optimization, but also the aesthetics of the space.

• Place the bed along the opposite wall from the entrance. Avoid placing it next to the door as much as possible, and even more so do not place it in such a way that the entrance is in any way obstructed.

• When placing furniture in a narrow bedroom, place the bed perpendicular to the longest wall, to visually neutralize the minuses of the room. An exception is the situation when, with this arrangement, the distance to the walls remains less than 70 cm.

• Try to keep the center of the room free... Let all the furniture stand around the perimeter of the bedroom.

• It is customary to put some kind of pedestal near the bed, for example: to place glasses, a telephone, an alarm clock. If space does not allow, then install a mini-shelf on the wall.

• Discard items that do not carry a special need. For example, these include a pouf or a bench at the foot. These are comfortable things, but are they needed in a small bedroom? Better to leave this space empty to expand the room.

• A workspace in the bedroom is a must for those who work at home at a computer. To save space, it is recommended to purchase a mobile table for a laptop instead of a computer desk.

In this case, there is nowhere to put the cabinet, and then the tenants placed the bedside boxes. Perhaps their location under the bed. The result is a very ergonomic, cozy, unfinished interior.
