How to lace up a corset on a wedding dress?

Corset on a wedding dress able to transform you into a real princess with a perfect figure. It is the lacing of the corset that will be the main point in the whole process of dressing the dress.

An improperly laced wedding dress will slide down all the time during the celebration. But bad corset lacing isn't the only problem. In order not to buy too wide an outfit, during the purchase, you need to tighten the corset as much as possible and try to stick your finger under the lacing. If a finger goes through, then the dress is too big for you.

If you find that the dress is too wide, after the purchase, be sure to sew the outfit. If the corset cannot be altered, add straps to the dress.

On the corset of a wedding dress there are:

1. Hinges. A cord is passed through them during lacing. Often these models of corsets are equipped with a zipper.
2. Holes. A lace is also threaded through them. There is no "zipper" in such corsets, but usually there is a fabric liner that allows you to add one or two sizes.
3. Large loops.They are designed to be laced with a wide band.

For any type of corset, the lacing technique will be similar. The process includes the following steps.

If, at the time of fitting in the salon, the girl first puts on shoes and a petticoat, then on the day of the celebration, when the hairstyle is ready, they begin by putting on the dress over the legs, and then the petticoat is put on. Further, if there is a zipper on the corset, it must be fastened. However, if the halves of the zipper come close together, you should first tighten the lacing and only then fasten the zipper.

First you need to thread the upper loops and pull the cord so that the lengths of the ends are equal. So we move down and thread all the holes or loops.

• Holding the ends of the cord (so you will not let them slip out of the loops) with one hand, gradually pull the lacing down with the other hand at the intersections. It is more convenient to do this manipulation together - let one girlfriend hold the ends of the cord, while the other will drag it down in turn with two hands. If you happen to tighten the corset alone, hold the lace by the ends comfortably with your left hand, and with two fingers (forefinger and thumb) of your right hand, pull the lace at the intersection, and then drag them down with the middle finger of your right hand.
• Grabbing the next intersection with two fingers, it must be pulled up, while releasing the middle finger at the previous intersection of the cords. If a tape is used to tighten the corset, it will not slip, so you do not need to hold the ends.
• Gradually drag the loop downward while straightening it.
• While tightening the corset, the bride should support her breasts with both hands so that in the end it does not look too flat. At the same time, you need to hide the excess fabric. In corsets without a zipper, you need to gently straighten the fabric insert. When there is a zipper on the corset, tuck the excess fabric under the bones to the sides so that the fastener is just in the middle of the back.

Make sure the dress fits snugly around the waist. Tie the ends of the lace with a bow, and if they are very long, trim off any excess with scissors. In this case, it is worth leaving a little in stock in case the dress is lacing.

The ends of an ordinary cord will not crumble and unravel, and if an unusual cord is used, its ends can be treated with a transparent varnish. If the corset does not have a zipper, then you can hide the ends of the lace in the folds.

• We recommend that you practice lacing a wedding dress in advance, so that on the day of the celebration, these manipulations are already familiar to your girlfriends.
