Features of Vuokkoset tampons
In recent years, mankind has been paying more and more attention to environmental problems all over the world. In this regard, the so-called organic products are becoming popular. This trend has not spared personal hygiene products. Today we will introduce you to the products of a well-known Finnish brand - with Vuokkoset tampons, we will understand their features, pros and cons, and also provide instructions for use.
Features of organic tampons
If you study the information from the World Wide Web, as well as consumer reviews, you can draw the following conclusion: not everyone understands how, in fact, organic and ordinary tampons from the mass market differ. After all, both are made from cotton, which means that both of these varieties must be a priori safe and environmentally friendly. However, not all so simple.
Do you know what else ordinary tampons are made of? From synthetic raw materials with high absorbency (often viscose), parabens (esters of para-hydroxybenzoic acid, used as preservatives in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries due to antiseptic and fungicidal properties), as well as flavoring additives (they are necessary to neutralize unpleasant smell). In addition, some products may contain traces of pesticides, dioxin and furan. It is believed that even the smallest particles of these substances are capable of causing a bacterial infection in the vagina, whose mucous membrane is highly permeable.
Organic tampons are state-of-the-art and reliable feminine hygiene products of the highest quality. A unique production technology using first grade raw materials allows you to obtain absolutely environmentally friendly, safe, biodegradable product that does not contain any traces of hazardous compounds.
Finland-based brand Vuokkoset went further and provided consumers with reliable, fast-absorbent cotton swabs bleached using harmless hydrogen peroxide. Their surface is cleaned with oxygen. Apart from 100% organic cotton, there is nothing in the composition.
Advantages and disadvantages
Let's find out what the pros and cons are of the brand's products. By tradition, let's start with the good:
- convenience and comfort of use - the product, once inside the vagina, gently expands, taking the required shape and effectively preventing leakage;
- there is no allergy to these tampons;
- Vuokkoset tampons are biodegradable and can be composted after use;
- Like the rest of the brand's products, the tampons received the Swan ecolabel, they were developed in conjunction with the Federation of Allergy, Skin and Asthma, whose certificate they hold;
- among the regalia - the certificate of the Scandinavian eco-label.
Of course, one can doubt that such products may have disadvantages. Judging by user reviews, there are only 2 of them:
- Vuokkoset tampons are difficult to find on sale;
- in comparison with similar products from the mass market, they have a rather high price.
You can store Vuokkoset tampons for 5 years at temperatures from 0 to +25 degrees Celsius.

Instructions for use
To use Vuokkoset tampons correctly, check out our step-by-step guide:
- wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water;
- remove the tampon from the package, pull slightly on the string to make sure that it is securely attached to the product and does not come off;
- decide in which position it will be more convenient for you to insert the tampon - you can do it in a sitting position or standing with one leg higher;
- gently insert the tampon with your finger (or using the applicator, depending on which variety you choose), pushing it into the vagina first up, and then moving diagonally to the back;
- an error in the introduction is excluded - the opening of the urethra is too small, the tampon, with all the desire, will not get through there;
- make sure the string is on the outside.
After 4-6 hours, remove the tampon by pulling on the string. Replace it with a new one.
