Hansgrohe hygienic showers: features and model overview
If you do water treatments more than once a day, you can harm your skin. In this regard, a sanitary device was invented for maintaining hygiene - a bidet in the form of a small bath. Housing in new buildings is quite spacious, and there is a place for such a device. And people living in houses built during the Soviet era can be helped by installing a hygienic shower. Such products are produced by many companies, among which the German brand Hansgrohe stands out.
Advantages and disadvantages
Hansgrohe sanitary ware is distinguished by high German quality, as well as a variety of modern products in demand. In particular, hygiene products account for a large share of the company's assortment.
There are many advantages to Hansgrohe hygienic showers.
- Diminutiveness... The device does not take up much space. The hygienic shower head can be placed on a wall or any other surface.
- Acceptable cost. To equip a hygienic shower, you only need to buy a mixer and supply water.
- Versatility. A small watering can can be used to wash your pet's paws after a walk, to wash your pet's litter box or outdoor shoes.
- Diverse design. The Hansgrohe hand shower is available in a wide range of colors and designs.
Despite the positive characteristics, the product also has disadvantages:
- the need to dismantle the finish when installing the built-in model;
- if the bathroom is not combined, then it becomes necessary to purchase a thermostat;
- constant water pressure in the pipes is required.
Equipment types
Of the whole variety of hygiene devices, several types can be distinguished.
Wall mounted shower
The most popular type of mini bidet. The package includes: mixer, hose, watering can, wall mount. The mixer is installed on a pipeline that does not have a bathtub branch - the liquid immediately enters the hygienic shower head. There are two types of installation:
- open, in which the set of parts is located in the visibility zone;
- closed, when only the handle for regulating the water and the outlet, where the hose, mixer and watering can are attached, remain on the wall.
Before using the shower, the mixer must be set to the open position.
You can let water in whenever you want, you just need to press the button located on the hygienic watering can.
Built-in shower
During its installation, all the details are installed imperceptibly in a special niche, or using structural elements of decoration. These devices come with an internal mixer. A hygienic watering can and a control panel will be in sight.
Toilet bidet
This plumbing fixture is installed on a toilet, and the mixer is similar to the design used for the sink. The only differences are in the drain.
Sink shower
In a combined bathroom, if the toilet has a sink, then a hygienic shower is attached to it. Here you need a special mixer, which differs from the standard one in that it has an outlet for the hygienic shower hose. The available switch makes it possible to regulate the water by supplying it to the watering can. With a combined bathroom, this mechanism is the most acceptable. The watering can is attached to the mixer, which allows water to flow into the sink, rather than dripping onto the floor.

How to choose?
When choosing Hansgrohe products, it is necessary to pay attention to which mechanism supplies the water, which will further facilitate the use of the product. Designs of hygienic showers are classified into valve, single-lever and thermostatic mechanisms.
Valve
In this system, the supply and distribution of the water flow is carried out using two valves. One of them opens cold water, the other - hot. By turning them, you can adjust the water temperature to a comfortable state. This type of mechanism also has disadvantages:
- to adjust the desired water temperature using two valves, you need to make a lot of movements;
- two-valve mechanisms very often leak, wear out quickly and have a short service life.
But if you choose a product of fairly high quality, then this problem can be avoided.
Single lever
In such a mechanism, the intake and adjustment of the water temperature is carried out using a lever that opens in any direction to solve these problems. The advantage of the mechanism is that it requires a minimum of movements to set it up. But there are also disadvantages, which depend on where you plan to install this system. If in a private house, then there will be no problems. In a multi-storey one, some difficulties may arise due to the fact that the mechanism is sensitive to the properties of the water entering it.
The single-lever mechanism is of two types:
- ball, represented by a polished bead;
- cartridge, with two tightly aligned plates.
All these elements have holes that, as a result of alignment and divergence, regulate the supply of hot and cold water.
In order for the mechanism to work without interruption, it must be clean, which is impossible due to the poor quality of water in the central water supply system. Water contains many chemical impurities that negatively affect sanitary ware. In addition to them, foreign particles of sand and rust are present in the water supply system, which, once in a closed mechanism, deposit a sediment on its internal elements.
The cartridge cannot be repaired, it can only be replaced. It is not too expensive in terms of cost, but it is time consuming. At the same time, this disadvantage of single-lever mechanisms can be easily eliminated by placing a filter on the water supply system.
With thermostat
They are a popular type of hygienic shower these days. It differs from the others in that it is possible to set the desired temperature indicator on it. Subsequently, when using it, you do not need to make any settings - it will be enough just to press a special button.
