How to correct white gold with diamonds?

Jewelry is an integral part of our life. Over time, a plaque forms on them, overshadowing the original shine, and the product looks unpresentable. It is necessary to clean white gold jewelry with diamonds very carefully, otherwise the surface of the metal and precious inserts can be damaged.

If you decide to clean white gold jewelry with precious inserts (rings, earrings, chains, necklaces) at home, follow the basic recommendations. Gold items are not allowed:

• completely immerse in water;
• handle with coarse material;
• clean with sharp objects;
• boil;
• clean with substances containing acetic acid and abrasive particles.

To clean the stones, it is necessary to use delicate methods of influence, otherwise the inserts can be deformed. Among the most effective ways to restore the original shine of stones the following can be distinguished:

• moisten a cotton swab for ears in cologne and gently clean the inserts with it;
• moisten a soft cloth with alcohol and remove dirt in a circular motion;
• in case of stubborn dirt, you can use a soft brush dampened with petrol.

No matter how carefully you treat your jewelry, over time they begin to look less attractive and become yellow. There are natural reasons for this: other impurities are present in the composition of white gold, which tend to oxidize.

There are many methods of cleaning white gold jewelry that you can use at home. Consider the effective and easy-to-execute options:

1. Toothpaste. The product must be in the form of a gel without coarse particles (otherwise, scratches may remain on the gold). Use a soft cloth for cleaning, not a brush.
2. Ammonia. Dilute the product with water in equal proportions. Immerse the decoration in the mixture for half an hour. Rinse the product thoroughly with water, put on a napkin. Allow to dry completely.
3. Soda. To boil water. Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Place the decoration in the container. Leave on for 15 minutes. Remove and rinse well with cold water jet. It is strictly forbidden to clean white gold with undiluted soda, as this can adversely affect the surface of the metal.
4. Laundry soap. Grate finely, dilute with water. In the resulting mixture, lower the jewelry for 1 hour. Rinse with water and leave on a paper towel to dry completely.
5. Sugar (effective if there is no heavy contamination on the product). Dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in 300 ml of chilled water. Dip gold in the solution. Leave on for at least 60 minutes.
6. Dish gel. Dissolve 1 tablespoon in half a liter of water, heat for 20 minutes. Submerge the decoration. Rinse with cool water and dry on a napkin.
7. Salt. Dissolve 1 heaped tablespoon in half a glass of water. Put the decoration in the solution, leave it overnight. In the morning, rinse with running water and leave on a napkin until dry. You can use a hairdryer. Then the jewelry will dry in just a few seconds. There will be no negative consequences for metal and cameos.
8. Soap solution. Dissolve a small bar of soap in water. Dip the jewelry in there and rub it lightly with a soft sponge.
9. Cola Cola. Immerse the jewelry in a drink for half an hour. Phosphoric acid will help to quickly dissolve and remove all contaminants. Rinse the product with running water and wipe with a soft cloth.
10. Mix in a container a glass of cool water, 20 g of peroxide, 1 teaspoon of liquid soap, 1 teaspoon of ammonia. Place the jewelry in the resulting solution for half an hour. Rinse the jewelry under cold running water.

If none of the described methods have restored the proper shine to white gold, you can purchase a specialized paste for cleaning jewelry (at a jewelry salon, online store). Well-proven remedy "Aladdin"... The set contains a liquid, a container for it and a brush. After the jewelry is in the solution, it must be taken out and polished with a soft velvet cloth. If the dirt is partially left, remove it from the kit with a brush.

If you were unable to clean the jewelry to perfect condition, use the services of a jeweler who will restore the precious piece by electroplating.

In order for jewelry to retain its beauty and shine for a long time, it is necessary to observe some rules for wearing it:

• remove the ring when washing hands and applying any cosmetics;
• take off jewelry while working with chemicals or wear waterproof gloves;
• take off jewelry before going to the pool. Chlorinated water adversely affects the appearance of the metal;
• do not take products to the beach. Sand particles can scratch stones and gold itself.

Store gold items in a separate box or velvet bag. If the jewelry is in the same container with other metals, they can undergo an oxidation process and, as a result, change their original color.
