A well-chosen cleaning method will save time that would have been spent fiddling with all sorts of tools.

Removal of stubborn dirt

A heavily soiled microwave oven is cleaned with vinegar and lemon. They contain acids that break down fat molecules.

However, a high content of citric or acetic acid can damage the top layer of the coating, so you should not use them often, especially if the stove is covered with enamel or stainless steel.

To clean the inside of the microwave quickly and efficiently, use whole lemon, citric acid or lemon juice. If lemon is used, then it is pre-cut into 4-5 parts and filled with water. You can take not a whole lemon, but half. Citric acid or lemon juice is used diluted: for one or two glasses of water, take one tablespoon of "lemon" or four tablespoons of squeezed lemon juice. A bowl of lemon water or lemons is placed in the microwave for 10-12 minutes. The fumes of citric acid dissolve fat deposits, and all that remains is to wash the entire surface with a clean sponge or wipe with a napkin.

Cleaning a very dirty oven chamber will help vinegar... It is a universal cleaner for all types of kitchen surfaces and household appliances. You will need a teaspoon of vinegar essence or three to four tablespoons of 9% vinegar. Pour 2 glasses of water and vinegar into the dishes, put in the microwave for 8-12 minutes, turning it on at full power. The time for setting the timer depends on the degree of soiling and on how dry plaque is on the walls of the device. 10 minutes after stopping, it is necessary to treat the walls with a damp cloth.

Use baking soda and vinegar to remove stubborn dirt stains. To do this, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the vinegar solution and carry out the same procedure as using one vinegar solution. At home, you can clean the grill ten from soot and soot. alcohol. A cotton pad should be moistened with ethyl alcohol and wiped with a shade until clean.

To reach the invisible side of the shade, use a wire that is bent at the desired angle. It is necessary to dip the wire, wrapped in a layer of cotton wool, in alcohol, then - to clean all hard-to-reach places.

A special microwave oven cleaner. It is often sold in liquid form and is applied using a spray. Creamy and gel-like products are spread with a sponge over the entire surface of the chamber, except for the mica pad and air vents. Usually, household chemicals need to be allowed to act for a few minutes (the manufacturer indicates the right time on the label). Then you need to wash the chamber from dirt and residues of chemicals with a sponge.

In order for the persistent smell of funds to disappear, the walls are wiped dry and ventilated.

Removal of medium soiling

If there are no lemons, then baking soda there is always a home. It will help wipe away old grease and dried food particles. Pour 300-400 grams of water into a deep bowl and pour 2-4 tablespoons of soda, turn on the oven for 10-15 minutes, putting the soda solution inside. 10 minutes after switching off, it is necessary to wash the walls of the device with a sponge and wipe it with a dry cloth.

If the soda solution did not manage to cope with the burnt fat, then you need to rub the stains with mustard powder applied to the sponge.

Laundry soap perfectly degreases, therefore it is suitable for washing the microwave oven chamber. With a damp sponge lathered with laundry soap, you need to wipe the fat deposits on the walls and wait half an hour for the fat to dissolve. After that, wash off the soap solution thoroughly. For quick cleaning of dirt, use any store-bought dishwashing detergent. A little dishwashing gel is dripped onto a wet foam sponge and foamed until a persistent foam is formed. Then they put the sponge in the microwave and turn it on for half a minute, after which they wipe off all the dirt with this sponge and remove the remnants of the washing liquid with a damp cloth.

Glass cleaner will safely and effectively remove greasy stains. Add 50 grams of water to 100 grams of liquid glass cleaner. This solution can be used to clean the microwave both inside and outside. If some stains are not rubbed off, then the product should be left on the surface for 5-10 minutes. The residues are washed off with clean water, often rinsing with a sponge. The washed device is wiped with a dry cloth and ventilated.

Removing light dirt

Small fresh contamination is easily removed, therefore the use of the steam method is sufficient. Pour 1-2 cups of warm water into a suitable container. The liquid should not reach the edges of the dish; it should not splatter during the boil. Next, you need to turn on the oven for 5-10 minutes, and after the signal leave the microwave closed for 5 minutes so that the hot steam softens the dirt and grease splashes. Then wipe the inside of the walls with a damp cloth.

Eliminate the smell

The zest of lemon, orange or grapefruit, dried leaves of mint, lemon balm, oregano will help to kill the unpleasant smell from the microwave. Fresh or dried citrus zest should be poured with water and heated in the oven for 3-4 minutes. Do the same with fragrant mint or oregano leaves. After that, all internal walls are wiped with a dry napkin.

Salt, soda, activated carbon and coffee beans absorb unpleasant odors. These natural ingredients can be used at home. At night, in a disconnected microwave oven, you need to put a cup or saucer with 50 grams of salt or soda, and in the morning there will be no foreign smell. Instead of salt, use 4-5 crushed tablets activated carbonwhich is sold at the pharmacy. It effectively removes any odors and fights high humidity.

Ground or whole coffee beans will not only absorb the foreign smell, but also leave behind a subtle aroma.

We clean outside

It is necessary to remove dirt and dust not only inside, but also outside the microwave oven. This also applies to the back wall, as a layer of dust can have a negative effect on the electronics and lead to an electrical short circuit and damage to the microwave. Dust is washed off with a well-wrung out damp cloth or cloth soaked in soda or soap solution.

If there are traces of cockroaches on the back side, then the contamination must also be removed. To destroy harmful insects, it is worth purchasing a cockroach remedy.

You can easily clean the outer walls of the device with baking soda. Dilute baking soda in warm water and wipe the device with a solution from all sides with a damp sponge. If the dirt is not cleaned off immediately, you need to wait 10 minutes for the dried particles to come off and easily come off. The seams are cleaned with a dampened cotton swab. After washing, wipe all surfaces with clean water and wipe dry with a napkin.

We remove yellowness

Over time, the plastic outer parts of the microwave will turn yellow. This is due to exposure to ultraviolet rays and temperature extremes. Also, cheap plastic acquires a shade of yellowness. The substances contained in the composition disintegrate over time, and the surface loses its original color. To remove yellowness, do not use aggressive cleaning agents that scratch and spoil the surface. Clean the yellowed plastic with the following solutions:

  • Concentrated laundry soap solution. Dissolve shavings from laundry soap in a small amount of hot water to a gel state. Apply this gel to a yellowed surface. After 1 hour, wipe it off with a cloth or sponge. This method is considered gentle and can be applied several times to achieve the best result.
  • Chlorine bleach will help whiten the plastic a few tones. In whiteness or another agent containing chlorine, moisten a light cotton rag, wring it lightly. Apply a damp cloth to the surface to be cleaned for several hours, then wipe it with water until the solution disappears.
  • A solution of soda and powder. In warm water, you need to dissolve any washing powder and baking soda or soda ash, and then apply the composition to the macula. Leave overnight and remove with a damp sponge in the morning.
  • Hydrogen peroxide. Moisten a cotton pad with hydrogen peroxide and wipe down the plastic. It is used in cases where the yellowness is not pronounced, the procedure is repeated several times.
  • 95% ethanol solution. Moisten a soft cloth with ethyl alcohol and rub the yellowed stove door until it is clean.
  • Plastic cleaners. In the utility section of the store, you can find household plastic cleaners from various manufacturers. There are special wipes for wiping plastic, soaked in a variety of solutions. They not only improve color, but also create a protective film against negative external factors that destroy and spoil the surface.

My glass

The inside of the microwave oven glass is cleaned in the same way as the entire area inside the oven chamber. The outside of the glass is cleaned with a glass cleaner. A commercially available spray or aerosol is easy to apply. It will not leave streaks and will quickly remove dust, grease, dirt, and fingerprints. If there is no liquid for washing glass at home, then prepare such a solution: add 100 grams of vinegar and the same amount of ethyl alcohol to a glass of water. In this mixture, dampen a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe the glass thoroughly until it is clean.

Cope with washing glass without a special glass cleaner will help ammonia: dissolve a couple of tablespoons of ammonia in a small amount of warm water and wipe the glass from the outside. Salt water will cope with greasy marks on the glass. Dissolve 30-40 grams of sodium chloride in a glass of hot water. Dip a rag in salt water and clean the glass. With the help of glycerin, you can create a protective film on the glass. Add a couple of drops of ammonia and a teaspoon of water to 30 grams of glycerin. Apply this mixture to the glass with a cotton pad and let it dry.

Care Tips

To make it easier to care for your microwave oven, cover the plate with a microwave-safe plastic lid when reheating food. Its cost is low, but its use significantly reduces the frequency of cleaning and the level of pollution. The lid will prevent grease and food particles from splashing onto the walls. Frequent cleaning is only needed for the removable glass base. It can be washed in the dishwasher or just like regular dishes.

It is considered ideal for a microwave wiping with a damp cloth after each use. This habit will keep all parts of the device clean. You will not need to use additional cleaning agents, waste time soaking and wiping off traces of fat and adhering food.

Whatever coating the microwave oven has - enamel, ceramic or stainless steel, excessive mechanical stress, the use of aggressive liquids with a high acid content, the use of coarse abrasive cleaning compounds, iron brushes, sponges, knives are not allowed.

In the scratches formed during careless care, dirt gets clogged, which will be difficult to clean up in the future.

To clean the surface of the microwave oven, use a foam sponge, absorbent cotton rags or rags, rayon and bamboo napkins. When wiping the microwave chamber with a damp sponge, make sure that no liquid gets into the ventilation holes and the air duct. You need to wet and rub the mica pad as little as possible, covering the output window of the magnetron emitter waveguide.

Before cleaning, the device must be disconnected from the mains so that water does not lead to a short circuit. You can use the microwave only after the chamber is completely dry and ventilated.
