Peeling procedures are gaining popularity among women lately. Jessner's peeling has a similar effect.

Jessner Peeling is a procedure aimed at cleansing, rejuvenating and revitalizing the skin. The second name "Hollywood peeling" is due to its popularity among Hollywood divas. This type of peeling is referred to as a chemical one, since the effect on the cells of the epidermis is carried out by means of a special composition applied to the skin. The procedure owes its appearance to a doctor named Jessner.

He was the first to use a similar composition as an antibacterial and anti-inflammation aftershave lotion. For the first time, it was tested by sailors, submariners, whose blooming appearance prompted a more detailed study of the composition of aftershave lotion. Later, cosmetologists adopted this tool, starting to use it as a peeling.

Jessner peels can be done in the salon or at home. True, in the latter case, it is important to maintain sterility, have the necessary cosmetological knowledge and skills, and also accurately determine the needs of the skin.

Resorcin (Resorcin) demonstrates exfoliating, antibacterial and whitening "abilities", and also activates the other 2 components, enhancing their effect. Resorcinol accounts for 14% in the peeling mixture.

The presence of this component is indicated by the inscription Lactic Acid on the composition for the Hollywood procedure, it occupies 14% of the composition of the mixture. The solvent in Jessner's composition is ethyl alcohol, which is the reason for the sharp alcoholic aroma that appears during the procedure. Modern manufacturers add additional components to the composition for a more pronounced one or another effect of the procedure. So, the addition of citric acid to the composition helps the product to better fight wrinkles and age-related skin changes. To neutralize the composition, you cannot use water, but a special liquid should be used.

For sensitive skin with a superficial procedure, you can choose formulations that, in addition to the essential components, include papaya, pumpkin enzymes, glycolic acid. These ingredients make the procedure less invasive.

With superficial peeling, an effect occurs at the level of the outer skin cells, thereby improving skin color, eliminating irregularities, fine wrinkles, minor defects. As a rule, superficial peeling is resorted to when caring for young and mature skin without significant problems, and a superficial procedure is also used as a preparatory procedure for more serious cosmetic procedures (deep peeling, plastic surgery). After superficial peeling, the skin recovers quickly enough, as a rule, it takes 3-4 days. At this time, slight peeling is possible.

Median peeling implies an effect on the deeper layers of the skin, due to which the effect of the procedure is better. It is possible to smooth out rather noticeable wrinkles, cope with post-acne, increased pigmentation. As for the technology of the procedures, they differ only in the depth of penetration of the peeling composition under the skin. • fairly quick rehabilitation without the need to change the usual way of life (with superficial peeling, the skin does not peel off much, a woman does not have to limit her meetings with other people);
• efficiency of the procedure, sufficient availability of the procedure in relation to the price;
• noticeable and lasting result, pronounced lifting effect already several hours after the procedure.

A couple of days before the peeling, it is recommended to apply special formulations with fruit acids to the skin. They will help to soften the top layer of the skin, which will further increase the effectiveness of the exfoliation.

Cleansing is done in 2 steps - first, particles of dirt, dust, cosmetics are removed from the skin. To do this, use a mild make-up remover with a neutral or close acidity level. The second phase of cleansing is degreasing the skin using alcohol lotions.
