To preserve the beauty and improve the condition of the skin, many different means have been invented. The most popular brands never cease to amaze with new products. But home care methods should not be discounted either. And one of the simplest and most effective is washing with mineral water.

Why do you need it?

Every woman is familiar with the unpleasant sensation when immediately after washing the skin unpleasantly tightens, and after just a few minutes it becomes dry and begins to peel off. Moreover, this happens with any type of skin, regardless of whether it is dry, normal or oily. If she is also sensitive, then irritation is not excluded. Serums and night creams help to cope with all these problems. And many simply prefer not to wash, but to use milk or micellar water to remove makeup and cleanse the skin.

It is mineral water that is needed to make the washing process more pleasant and beneficial. The pH level of tap water is higher than that of our skin: 7.5 versus 5.5. Hence all the problems with dryness, tightness, peeling and irritation.

Mineral water, on the other hand, has a pH of 5.5. Therefore, it is she who is able to provide comfortable washing, and in addition, with regular use, will supply the skin with the necessary microelements.

Benefit and harm

Mineral water has long been included in some formulations of cosmetics, which speaks of its benefits for the skin. It is no coincidence that in physiotherapy, mineral baths are successfully used to treat various skin diseases and improve general condition. The advantages of washing with mineral water are as follows:

  • has a beneficial effect on blood circulation, due to which the complexion acquires a healthy shade;
  • in the morning such washing will invigorate better than any tonic and give energy for the whole day;
  • the skin will not receive the entire set of harmful impurities that are often found in tap water;
  • thanks to such washing, the feeling of dryness will gradually go away, the skin will not peel off;
  • especially mineral water is beneficial for skin prone to irritation.

If we talk about the minuses, then the main one can be considered only one - good quality water is not cheap. Therefore, water procedures of such a plan can become costly. As for harm, it can only be caused by improper use of this method, since everything has its own nuances, and you need to take into account the type of skin and the composition of the water.

What kind of mineral water can I take?

Before using mineral water as a cleanser, the bottle must be opened and left in this form for at least half an hour, or better for an hour. Soda is not as good for your skin. Carbon dioxide can cause dry skin. It is preferable to choose a product in a glass container: it has a longer shelf life than in plastic containers. Before use, you need to familiarize yourself with the composition indicated on the label.

Experts believe that dry or normal skin will look healthy and radiant if you use low and medium mineralized water for morning and evening procedures, which contains less than 500 mg of salts per liter. "Holy Spring" and "Golden Key" will be the most suitable means for washing. But the indicator with a higher figure is suitable for problem skin. This will help relieve irritation and remove unwanted shine.

Such options as Borjomi, Narzan, Essentuki are suitable for such purposes.

Washing methods

You can use mineral water in different ways, choosing the one that is most convenient and pleasant:

  • wash your face in the morning with water, previously settled, without gas;
  • spray your face with a spray bottle in the morning and you can during the day - this will refresh the skin;
  • freeze mineral water and wipe your face with an ice cube, it is especially good to do this in the morning to awaken the skin;
  • Another effective option is to mix mineral water with various herbs and use it in the form of a tonic or ice cubes.

There are many recipes that will be useful for different skin types, where the main component is mineral water.

  • For 250 grams of mineral water, you need two tablespoons of herbs or dried flowers. For oily skin, chamomile and calendula are suitable, oak bark will help with acne, and mint can be used for normal skin. Mineral water is brought to a boil, then the selected composition of herbs is added there, boiled for 2-3 minutes, and then infused for 20 minutes. When the liquid has cooled down, you need to strain it and pour it into a clean bottle. Can be used as a tonic: moisten a cotton pad, wipe the skin. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days. After this period, it is better to prepare a fresh composition.
  • For deep cleansing of the skin, you can prepare the following mask: Mix a small pinch of salt with the juice of freshly squeezed lemon, add a few tablespoons of mineral water, grind oatmeal and one tsp. add to the mixture, stir well. Then apply this composition to cleansed skin and leave for 20 minutes. Then wash it all off with mineral water.
  • Dry skin can be moisturized with this formulation: mix two teaspoons of honey with two tablespoons of mineral water and a decoction of chamomile. Apply on face for 20 minutes, rinse also with mineral water.
