Gift paper filler is an inexpensive and effective way to make presentable presentations. Paperfiller is good because it does not require large production and raw material costs. Let's look at what it is and find out how to choose it or make it yourself.

Functionality

The paperfiller can be divided into 2 types according to its functional value: decorative and protective. In varieties of the first type, manufacturers focus on color and texture. The second modifications are needed to keep the presentation stationary. Thanks to them, gifts such as a bottle of cognac, a glass vase or a pair of tea from the antique collection will not be broken.

The paper filler, in addition to giving the present a high status, solves several problems, it:

  • corrects the position of the gift;
  • makes it easier to put the product inside the gift box;
  • allows you to replace the foam fixing of the product;
  • in the future it can be used as an element of decorating the interior of a room;
  • protects the gift from the negative effects of temperature drops.

Nuances of choice

There are a number of factors that need to be considered in order to choose the truly best option for decorating a gift. For example, you need to build on the type of packaging itself. Paper shavings can be used to fill cardboard boxes, wicker baskets, and even clear bags. Shredded paper straw is perfectly combined with plastic and wood packaging.

Chaotically cut paper tinsel resembles a pile of serpentine; it can be offset, colored, and also designer. The desired option is chosen taking into account the packaging itself and the gift. For example, some products are more suitable for cut noodles made of corrugated paper or corrugated cardboard, in other cases, craft decorative filler is more appropriate.

When choosing material for filling a gift, you need to pay attention to the cutting width, density and color. You can combine color options with each other, choosing related shades of the same color. In addition, if desired, a contrasting combination of paper stripes is also allowed.

It is preferable to decorate expensive presents with plain paper shavings.

It is also important to consider such an aspect as breathability. For example, craft filler does an excellent job of air exchange, and therefore can fill the space in a box with a gift product. In addition, kraft paper slices are anti-allergenic, tear-resistant, break-resistant. It is also great for decorating large and heavy items.

Cut tissue paper can be used as filler for gift boxes for clothes, shoes, cosmetics. It can be used to decorate the presented vintage wine, handmade soap, as well as items such as leather goods. These paper strips are lightweight and rich in color. In addition, a thing surrounded by such a straw may not be afraid of a blow.

Thin paper is good for sealing small gift bags.

Specialist recommendations

In order not to doubt the choice of color and type of paper, you can take into account several generally accepted recommendations.

  • Strips of natural tones (white, pastel) made of paper with a heterogeneous structure and higher density are used to fill presentations in order to emphasize environmental friendliness.
  • It is better to demonstrate the creativity of the presentation with the help of bright corrugated paper, for example, the color of lemon, greenery, scarlet rose.
  • Fuchsia paper strips are considered the best filler for perfumes and cosmetics (for example, expensive perfumes, handmade soaps).
  • It is more expedient to decorate gifts of the VIP category with shavings of pastel shades made of high density elastic paper.
  • When you need to give a present to a newborn, the decisive factor in choosing paper tinsel is the traditional color (blue for boys and pink for girls).
  • It is better to pack a bottle, tube or bouquet with corrugated paper filler with a rough surface.
  • Polysilk is convenient because it can be used to fill the voids of gifts of complex shapes, complementing the design with small decorative elements.

When you need to buy paper filling for gift wrapping, it is important to pay attention to the cutting width and density indicators. These factors will determine the decorativeness of the material and the level of splendor. For example, the width of the cut chips can be 1.5, 2.5 and 3 mm. As for the density, the technical characteristics will depend on it: the higher it is, the less volume it will take.

The usual type has a weight of 80 g / m2, craft paper, like papyrus, is slightly thicker. Their density index ranges from 15 to 17 g / m2. Designer cuts are the densest - their density is 120 g / m2. To take to fill a box or other container, you need an option based on considerations of practicality or decorativeness. For example, if you want to provide a secure fit, the density must be high.

Self-production

The uniqueness of our own production of paper filler is the fact that paper pieces can be given different shapes. Traditionally, it is possible to cut the paper into strips 3 mm wide using parchment paper. This width is sufficient, as wider stripes will look rough, visually making the decoration of the gift heavier.

You can use corrugated paper or craft sheets as cutting material. Someone uses ordinary newspaper or even decorative napkins as filler. To make the strips even, depending on the size of the original sheet, they act in two ways: they draw the sheet into strips 3 mm wide or create a template of the desired format, and then print the sheet and cut it into strips.

You can cut paper not only with ordinary scissors: beautiful paper ribbons are obtained when shavings are created with scissors with a curly edge. Often the finished shavings are supplemented with foil or thin spiral rain. In addition, it can be supplemented with sisal or abaca fillers, nets for flower bouquets.

The cut with organza looks beautiful, which is laid on the base of the box.

You can make a filler using a curly hole punch. Today, such items allow you to decorate any gift, simply by preparing a large number of identical figures. For example, it can be a variety of hearts, butterflies, flowers, bears. The convenience of this manufacturing method is the fact that you do not need to cut out every detail, and this saves time. In addition, the quality of the slices will be quite high.

In order for the straw to look nice and uniform, for its production you need to take paper in which both sides are made in the same color. If you don't want to cut it with scissors, you can use a clerical knife and a metal ruler to make it. In this case, markings are made, the paper is placed on the substrate and, having installed a ruler, it is drawn along the line with a knife, cutting the sheet into separate tapes.

For the manufacture of paper filler, you can buy A3 sheets. After cutting, it is necessary to slightly crush the resulting ribbons, after which they are placed on the bottom, and then the voids left after placing the gift are filled.

How to register?

The uniqueness of hand-made paper filler is the combination of straw and decor. For example, you can cut the paper, wrinkle it slightly, fill the voids in the box with it, and decorate with bright elements obtained with the help of a curly hole punch. For example, kraft paper straws combined with bright scarlet hearts or white openwork butterflies will look beautiful.

Optionally, you can decorate the gift with sweets in bright packaging. For example, they look very nice when paired with craft paper straws. The same straw can be supplemented with pine cones, which will create a special mood when decorating a New Year's presentation.

For a loved one, you can make a filler with hearts scattered on craft paper or newsprint.

Whatever gift is inside the box, it will look beautiful and expensive with such a filler.

Decorative items are best made of thicker paper or double-sided cardboard. Such decor will not wrinkle, and therefore a gift with a filler will look aesthetically attractive. You can use thin coated cardboard to stamp beautiful figures out of it. It is better to take larger hole punches for such a handmade product: this way the decorative elements will look more beautiful. For example, depending on the variety, the size of the mold can be from 2 to 4.5 cm.
