How to pack a round gift?
The surprise may not necessarily be a rectangular or square shape, boring to many. You can also donate a thing that was originally placed in a round package, or if it itself is round.
Paper selection
Here, the gift wrapper does not differ in design from the one used for packing surprises in a standard form. Glossy, kraft paper, quiet, stretchable, wavy or mulberry - it all depends on the tastes of both the person being gifted and the donor himself. The colors are also selected so that the gift looks harmonious, presentable and elegant.
Features of round and oval packaging
There is a difference between a round or oval and rectangular surprise. To wrap a round gift with your own hands, do the following:
- measure the width and height of the package, add 2-3 cm to the resulting dimensions;
- unfold the package to the side and remove the lid from it;
- wrap the package in a freshly cut piece of paper - while the top and bottom allowances of 1-1.5 cm remain;
- cut a circle from the paper, smaller in diameter than the bottom side of the package, and glue it in the center;
- repeat the previous paragraph of this instruction for the box lid, but making the diameter of the paper circle, on the contrary, large;
- cut a strip 1.5 cm wider than the height of the box, wrap it around, fold the edge into graceful folds.
The surprise is ready for further decoration before being handed over.
Cylinder box
The gift may not always be round on all sides, like a ball, or oval, like an egg. Most often, packaging for round surprises is designed as follows:
- the sheet is cut to a size slightly larger than the height and radius of the cylinder;
- the paper is applied with one side and wrinkled around the top and bottom of the box, forming folds that converge in the center.
In this case, a decorative tape with a bow may be missing, since it is not possible to fix it without glue. A bow can be made from the same ribbon - but without wrapping the box on the sides with it.
Small surprise
If the gift is small - for example, a box with a gold or silver ring, jewelry, chain, which itself has an oval or round shape - do not make the wrapper too thick and multi-layered: all the charm and charm of such a surprise will be lost.
You can use an open or half-open box of any shape - up to a rectangular one, but at the same time decorate your present so that the second package does not completely hide the shape of the first, but emphasizes it beautifully.
Packing in an envelope or bag
Less common, but also found option. Oval, round or cylindrical gift wrapping can be inserted into an envelope. If the gift is rather large, a decorative bag can be used.
In the form of candy
Round sweets are associated with exquisite chocolate from an elite manufacturer. Round, oval or cylindrical surprise packaging is also decorated in a "candy" style. Do the following:
- cut a strip of paper that is significantly higher in height than the packaging (1.5-2 times);
- wrap the gift wrapping in this paper, you will have an allowance on each of both sides;
- pull together, decorating the ends of the packaging with graceful folds, the ends with a gift ribbon on both sides;
- arrange the ends of the wrapper in the most beautiful way: you can cut them neatly and symmetrically to create a luxurious tail-shaped pattern - this action is determined by the imagination and creativity of the donor and / or designer.
A cylindrical "candy" is similar, for example, to a real chocolate candy "Jaco - Shaped Keg". The round one resembles, say, a real Cinderella or Korkunov candy. After making a "candy-like" surprise, you can additionally decorate it with a spray of decorative acrylic paint, paint with special markers with glitters, glue over with pieces of tape of other colors, folded into a fancy pattern, and so on.
The classic way
A round surprise without packaging can be easily placed in a standard square packaging with special inserts for holding it. An oval gift is placed in a rectangular package that matches its height. The package has either a transparent window, or is formed in the form of a house, where the "attic" is not closed from the sides - the recipient already sees that the surprise itself is round, but he will get a full picture only by opening it.
Examples of
Desserts are the first to come to mind of the donor - be it a large chocolate egg or a product designed in the form of a completely oval "matryoshka", "Potato", "Rafaello" cakes, a cake or a round cake, a cake packaged at a confectionery factory, a cylindrical box of chocolates.
Any few surprises that are smaller in size, including different types, specially packed (round, square) can be presented in a cylindrical package. This approach will inspire your present with the spirit of alluring mystery. The recipient of the presented "multi-gift" will be even more delighted, especially if these surprises are practical and have long been expected by them. Here, there is also a way to save on an expensive and presentable wrapper, and cylindrical packaging - if the gifts are small - is made of cardboard sleeves, for example, from adhesive tape, toilet paper, disposable towels.

Even a bottle of soft drink or alcohol already lends itself easily to giving it a cylindrical shape. For this, a cardboard or plastic insert that matches the size of the bottle is made. It is put on the neck so that the bottle does not outwardly resemble itself, and the recipient does not immediately guess what exactly you want to treat him to. Then the resulting "structure" is wrapped in wrapping paper as a cylindrical surprise or placed in a ready-made rectangular package, pre-decorated.
If the recipient is a music fan, audiophile and well versed in automotive sound technology, an example is the egg-type stereo speakers for his car - the squeak of fashion in the early 2000s, owing its appearance to the latest advances in the world of acoustic systems. Each of these speakers is packaged as an oval gift.
An athlete who often competes in competitions can receive sports nutrition as a gift for home training - for example, peanut butter. An alternative is cylindrical or round weights, which can be rolled in the same way.
Special category of gifts
Not only expensive, but also large-sized gifts - a car, motorcycle, bicycle, paraglider, balloon, parachute and others - can also be beautifully wrapped, especially since they often have an oval or nearly round shape. The format of the gift as such (from the point of view of usability) is limited only by the giver's imagination and wallet.
Conclusion
Whether it is an exotic fruit, an original vessel such as a mug or glass, any other surprise timed to something, a round or oval surprise will interest the recipient of the presentation much more than a square or rectangular gift that has set the teeth on edge.
