The fan is considered one of the most popular accessories. It can be used not only in hot weather for fanning, but also as an interesting decorative element. In eastern countries, the fan was a sign of royal and military power; not every woman was honored to have this item in her arsenal. Of course, today the fan is no longer such a symbolic thing, but at the same time it is very widespread throughout the world.
As soon as they decorate an accessory, and from whatever they make it. One of the most interesting was the fan of disposable forks. To make it, you will need:
-
plastic forks, about 25 pcs.;
-
white self-adhesive cardboard (ordinary coated cardboard can be used);
-
satin fabric, a square piece measuring 15x15 cm is enough;
-
a beautiful lace strip with a scalloped edge 3-4 cm wide;
-
wide lace of the same color as satin for decoration;
-
a compass or any other object that will help draw an even circle;
-
transparent glue "Moment" or glue gun;
-
rhinestones, sequins, satin roses for decoration;
-
a pair of multi-colored satin ribbons 1.5-2 cm wide.
Jewelry can be of any color. Combinations of several tones of the same color look very nice. For example, cornflower blue, blue and blue or red, burgundy and cherry. The versatile white will perfectly complement any combination.
Manufacturing technology
A DIY fan making workshop will be an excellent option for the development of children's motor skills and creative thinking. All the materials you need are affordable and can be found in any store. Such activities are also beneficial from an environmental point of view. Plastic is not thrown into the trash, but recycled into something interesting and useful. Below you will find step-by-step instructions that will help you make a beautiful fan from disposable forks.
First of all, you need to draw an even circle on a piece of white cardboard using a compass or other improvised means. Carefully cut out the resulting shape and fold it in half to form a hall. Open the cardboard, on the inside of it, place the plastic cutlery, gluing each one in turn. You should get a neat semicircle, after which the glue is applied over the forks and the second piece of cardboard covers the first. Leave the resulting blank until the glue is completely dry.
Smooth the prepared laces and ribbons with an iron so that they have a presentable look. To get started, take a long tape and thread it through the teeth, securing the edges with a little glue so that it is not visible. Do the same at the base of the cutlery, then pinning the edges. Pass the widest lace strip in the middle of the forks. Glue a piece of satin onto a piece of cardboard, and decorate the edges with a thin ribbon to ensure a neat look for the craft.
For decoration, use beautiful beads, bows, rhinestones, sequins or artificial flowers. All this can be attached to the base of the resulting fan using a glue gun. You can randomly scatter the decor or depict a figure. An excellent option would be special stripes for clothes with a ready-made pattern. They can also be fixed with glue. In this case, it all depends on your imagination and creative thinking. Feel free to experiment and do something original.
Useful Tips
If you don't want to wait for the glue to dry, use a glue gun. It instantly freezes and allows you to immediately continue working without interruption. Do not put the gun in the hands of a child under any circumstances, he may burn himself.
It is a great idea to attach a small handle to the accessory so that it can be used as intended. But, in general, the product is made for beauty, it is too fragile for fanning.
Usually, such crafts are used as a gift for mom or grandmother on March 8. They will look great on the wall as a panel or as a decorative element on a shelf.
If you want the fan to keep its neat appearance longer, cover the surface with a thin layer of hairspray, it will fix the decor and prevent it from becoming covered with dust.
