What is the fastest bike in the world and what makes it special?
The bicycle is an integral part of the life of many people, both adults and children. For some, this transport is just entertainment and an opportunity to keep yourself in good physical shape, while for others it is a sport and the meaning of life. Today there are many models from various manufacturers. There are bicycles specially made for walking, and there are those designed for professional riding.
But few people know that there are also bikes that can easily compete in speed capabilities with modern racing cars. It is these bicycles that will be discussed in this article.
Record bike
Throughout the history of the existence and manufacture of two-wheeled vehicles, many different copies were created, each of which at one time surprised with its capabilities and design. But to date, none of the previously developed and created models can compare with the current record holder. - Exotic Thermo Engineering. This particular bicycle is considered to be the fastest among its “fellows” in the world today. Before discussing its features, let's talk a little about the history of its creation.
Who invented it?
The idea of creating the fastest bike in the world that runs without a motor belongs to French extreme cyclist Francois Gissy. It was this man who broke the craziest and most incredible records on the planet that are associated with this vehicle. He was independently involved in the development and design of the super bike and its components.
It is also worth noting that François personally assembled the frame of the structure, but a special company was engaged in the manufacture of the "highlight" of the bike, thanks to which it became the fastest on the planet.The rocket launcher for the bicycle was developed and built by the Swiss company Exotic Thermo Engineering, of course, according to Gissy's idea. So, in 2002, a new record holder was born thanks to the fruitful work of Swiss engineers and a crazy racer.
Record
In the year the high-speed bike was born, his "father" decides to take a risk, which, in the end, turned out to be very justified. In France, at the Pauly Ricard circuit, seemingly in an unequal battle, two "iron horses" met: one of them is an Exotic Thermo Engineering bike, the other is a racing car, which is considered one of the fastest - Ferrari F430 Scuderia. No matter how amazing it sounds, but just the two-wheeled miracle in just 4.8 seconds Francois Gissy accelerated to 242.6 km / h and left the racing car far behind.
Then the record was recorded, and the bicycle was recognized as the fastest in the world. But its creator does not at all strive to get into the Guinness Book of Records, so the record has not been officially recorded. Despite this, to this day there is no bike faster than Exotic Thermo Engineering. After that, Gissy, on his "iron horse" - the record holder, took part in the race, competing with the equally fast Tesla car. During the race, it was recorded that a bicycle accelerates faster than a car.
Features Exotic Thermo Engineering
Of course, this is not an ordinary bike, it has its own distinctive qualities, thanks to which it is unique. It is characterized by the presence of:
- extended frame;
- shallow angle of the steering axle;
- a jet engine that is welded to the frame of the frame.
The elongated design and gently sloping angle are responsible for the safety of the rider.
The features of these structural elements prevent the cyclist from being thrown over the handlebars when braking at high speed. But the presence of a jet engine provides the highest possible speed.
Principle of operation
The bike is equipped with the same pedals as a regular bike, but you do not need to twist them. Of course, if riding on such transport means just a walk, then the pedals will come in handy, but for fast driving they are not needed at all. Even the record-breaking creator sometimes resorts to pedaling. Most likely, the pedals would have been installed so that this "rocket" could be classified as a "bicycle" transport.
So, the principle of operation of a super speed bike is as follows:
- the rocket launcher is "fueled" with 90% hydrogen peroxide (this substance is the fuel for the bike);
- then the silver catalyst begins to act on the peroxide;
- after that, the process of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into 2 components - water and oxygen;
- the disintegration process is accompanied by the appearance of high pressure inside the rocket launcher;
- in the last stage, high pressure pushes out the decomposition products of hydrogen peroxide, so that the bike starts and goes very fast, picking up speed every second.
From this we can conclude that François Gissy is not only an incredible inventor and cyclist, but also an excellent physicist and chemist, if he could think of creating such a structure. I would also like to say that the inventor does not strive to make money on his brainchild. It is not possible to buy or order this type of vehicle.
Exotic Thermo Engineering is one of a kind. Who knows, perhaps soon we will hear that, after all, a great new achievement was recorded and entered into the Guinness Book of Records, which belongs to François Gissy and his "iron horse".
Other speed bikes
In addition to the Exotic Thermo Engineering bike, there are other bikes that have also become famous all over the world due to the fact that they can reach a fairly high speed.
Among these bikes:
- FFR Trikes 422 Alpha - the bike develops a speed of 50 km / h;
- Optibike 1100R - the maximum possible speed is 65 km / h;
- Trefecta DRT - 75 km / h;
- Audi ebike - 80 km / h;
- Black Trail by PG - 100 km / h;
- Eta Bike - 140 km / h.
Each of the above models is original in its design, technical parameters and capabilities. Some of them can even be purchased, of course, exclusively from the manufacturer and at a very high price. It is impossible to see any of the listed bicycles in the store. The most original and unique have long been the property of private collections.
