The article will talk about what kind of paint and how you can remove it from the jacket at home with improvised means.

How to remove fresh paint?

Paint that has just adhered to your garment can be removed in a variety of ways. But the paint is different and has some features, like the material of which your jacket is composed.

If you have a leather or leatherette jacket, a freshly applied paint stain that has not had time to dry can be cleaned with any vegetable oil (sunflower, olive oil is always at hand). Moisten a cotton pad with plenty of oil and rub in the area of adhering paint, it is better to change the cotton pad so that no streaks are left on the leather product. Make an effort to remove, since the leather product has pores and a pattern in which paint can remain.

Use a thinner to dry the paint stain. These include refined gasoline, white spirit, acetone, turpentine, kerosene. When using these aggressive substances, be careful, as they can ruin a wardrobe item or be poisoned by the vapors of these liquids. A soft cloth should be lightly moistened with one of the listed substances and gently applied to the dried paint until the stain dissolves.

It is not recommended to rub the thing, since you can change the surface structure of the leather product, spoil the color of the jacket. A simpler method, but less effective, is to lather the brush with a cleaning agent and rub over the area of contamination. Washing powder or other detergents are not suitable for leather goods.

A stain on the surface of a bolognese jacket can be removed with warm alcohol. We remove dirt with a cloth or cotton wool soaked in alcohol. After removing the stain, be sure to wash the Bologna garment so that when it dries on the spot after the paint does not leave marks and stains.

A jacket made of raincoat fabric absorbs paint just as well as others. You can wash stains with laundry soap, this is one of the harmless methods that will not ruin the fabric of the jacket. The stain should be thoroughly lathered and rubbed with a stiff brush, after which the jacket can be sent to the washing machine.

It is necessary to remove oil paints with detergents, since after removal with napkins, a greasy stain will remain. You can use your usual dish detergent, which is excellent at removing oils and greases. Removing gouache and watercolors is as easy as shelling pears, you just need to wipe away the dirt.

How to remove dried paint?

Removing stubborn, dried or old paint from your jacket is a little more difficult. But do not give up and do not throw away the thing, because it can serve you for several more years, if you make a little effort.

To remove an old stain, you need to soften it... To do this, you can use alcohol lotions. Dip a small piece of cloth into warm alcohol and apply it to the place of contamination. Alternatively, you can use a soda solution that is used to lubricate a dirty place. It is also advised to apply margarine or butter to the place of pollution, vegetable oil can be used. The vinegar will quickly soften the fabric.

After softening the dried stain, you can try to get rid of it forever. Here we can use the solvents described above. It is enough to apply a caustic substance and leave to stand for a while so that the substance is properly absorbed into the material. Then you can use a toothbrush if the stain is small, or a carpet brush. Rub vigorously over the paint so that it dissolves and the stain disappears.

Remember to place a cloth under the surface to be cleaned to absorb excess solvent and paint residues. Such manipulation requires further thorough washing of the thing.

Special paint thinner will also help remove old stains.

An easy way to remove paint stains is to use iron and a blank sheet of paper. Attach paper to the place of contamination, and iron it several times with a heated iron. A blank white sheet is recommended, as the printed sheet may print its own text on the fabric when the iron is heated, and you will have to find a way to clean the ink from the jacket.

Many people use conventional nail polish remover. But it does not have strong dissolving properties, especially not suitable for removing old and dried stains.

Oily stains from the dye can be wiped off with ammonia. After moistening the surface, and then wipe the stain with washing powder.

If the stain is old and the monotherapy consisting of one solvent does not help you, try to increase its effect by adding another type, if that does not help, make a mixture of three types of solvents. For example, you can mix turpentine, acetone and gasoline, you get a nuclear mixture, and you will definitely get rid of the adhering paint. Just do not forget that after removing the stain, you need to wash the jacket so that there are no streaks and a disgusting smell.

There is a cleaning method without chemical attack on the fabric. Mechanical cleaning using a sharp knife or blade. With the edge of a knife, with light movements, we try to scrape off the dried paint.

How to remove paint from white or black fabric?

A very common problem is how to remove paint from a white jacket, as light-colored fabric has the ability to be dyed.

First, use stain remover to easily remove the stain. Soak the item in warm water and a quality stain remover. Next, wash the item with detergent. Chalk cleaning can be done without fear of color. If this method did not work, and the paint managed to be absorbed, you can carefully use lotions with warm ammonia or ethyl alcohol, or it is possible with solvents, preferably transparent in color, which will not re-stain the light material.

The same cleaning technique is used for black fabric. The fear when cleaning a black product is as follows, when washing the paint, you can wipe the fabric so that a light stain will remain on the thing, which will greatly ruin the appearance of outerwear. Use a mixture of gasoline and acetone, blot the stained area and leave, then wash the thing with detergent.
