Mouton fur coats are chosen by many representatives of the fair sex - fur products are lightweight and retain heat well. Before removing a muton fur coat for summer storage, it should be tidied up so that it takes on its original appearance. It is not always possible to dry-clean your outerwear, so you have to cope on your own.

How to freshen up a product?

During long-term storage in a closet, outerwear becomes covered with dust, small particles of debris. Before putting on a fur coat, you need to freshen it up - for this, the product is shaken or the dust is knocked out with a carpet cracker. You can add freshness to the product using a vacuum cleaner. The device is set to the minimum power. It is important that the nozzle is clean, otherwise the fur coat will get even more dirty.

An excellent option for removing dust and fluff is a stiff brush for animal hair or a roller for clothes. It has an adhesive tape that will attract dirt that has accumulated in the fur.

However, it is equally important to ensure the correct storage of the product, then there will be much fewer problems with further operation. As a rule, it is recommended to store any outerwear in a case. This will help avoid dust and other contamination. To eliminate unpleasant odors come in handy ground coffee. A small jar can be put in a cover along with a fur coat.

Dark fur care

To clean a fur coat from a muton, you do not need to purchase expensive tools - everything you need is present at the house of the housewives. Methods for cleaning items with dark fur are as follows:

  • Vinegar works great on stubborn stains. It is mixed with alcohol and water in a 1: 1: 1 ratio, after which a brush is immersed in the solution, with which the pile is combed. At the end of the procedure, the fur is soaked with a dry napkin, and the outerwear is placed on a hanger for drying.
  • The ammonia will remove stubborn dirt. Alcohol is mixed with water in a ratio of 1: 4. A cotton pad is dipped into the solution, wrung out and wiped on the surface of the fur coat.
  • The steam generator will help get rid of unpleasant odors, remove small dirt. The product is hung on a hanger or a sewing dummy and treated with steam - the device should work in a gentle mode and not touch the pile.

There is a special brush designed for cleaning fur products. With it, you can quickly remove dirt without spending a lot of time. Wait until the dirt is dry before brushing the pile, otherwise it will rub all over the fur. If the stain cannot be removed by simply scratching, then a mild stain remover solution should be applied to the contaminated area. Vanish... After treatment with the solution, the pile is re-combed with a brush.

The product will gently remove stains and make the fur even softer.

Care for light fur

A light mutton fur coat looks expensive, gives its owner sophistication and charm. You can take care of the product at home as follows:

  • A soap solution is used to remove light dirt. Warm water is poured into the basin, liquid soap is dissolved in it and whipped until foam forms. It is spread over the fur and left for a while. After drying, the pile is combed, and the fur coat is placed in a well-ventilated place.
  • Potato starch will absorb any impurities. Spread the fur coat on a flat, hard surface and sprinkle it with starch. It is rubbed into the product with massaging movements. When the starch darkens, shake the fur coat. The steps are repeated until the starch stops darkening.
  • Hydrogen peroxide will help eliminate the yellowness of the fur. 1 teaspoon of peroxide is mixed with 3 tablespoons of soda and water, mix thoroughly and apply the solution to the fur using a clean cloth or brush. After a couple of minutes, the pile is combed.
  • An effective, but also risky method, is cleaning with starch and gasoline. A kashchitsa is prepared from them and applied to the contaminated areas. The fur is combed to remove the mixture, the fur coat is taken out into the fresh air in order to eliminate the smell of gasoline. Before cleaning, gasoline is applied to an invisible area of the product - if an undesirable reaction appears, it is better to abandon this method so as not to spoil the light coat.

Useful Tips

It is not difficult to take care of a muton fur coat, but you need to adhere to some rules:

  • Do not dry the product with a hair dryer or near heating devices. The fur coat should dry naturally on a hanger in a ventilated area.
  • Outerwear should not be cleaned too often, especially if there is no visible dirt. Cleaning is best done once a year.
  • After cleaning the fur coat, the fur is combed with a stiff brush in the direction of the growth of the villi to give the previous shape and volume.
  • Alcohol and vinegar must be diluted before processing the product - in their pure form, the substances will have a negative effect on the fur coat.

During the operation of outerwear, not only the fur part becomes dirty, but also the lining. If it does not unfasten, then it is wiped with a sponge, previously soaked in soapy water, and blotted with a napkin.

The detachable lining is washed in a warm solution of soap, rinsed, dried and ironed like ordinary clothes.

Can I use a washing machine?

Owners of natural muton coats often ask themselves whether it is possible to wash a fur product in a washing machine or not. This is strongly discouraged.Even if you put the delicate wash mode in the machine, then after the procedure the fur coat will begin to fade, the fur will come out, possibly in whole shreds. Washing automatically in the machine will cause outerwear will fit 1-2 sizes. If a large amount of moisture gets on the product, the fur will dull, become tough, the fur coat will deform. Processing the product in the washing machine can lead to damage to the unit. A fur coat under the influence of moisture will become much heavier - the drum of the machine simply cannot cope with such a weight. Therefore, there is no need to risk a household appliance and an expensive fur product.
