How to clean a suede bag at home?

A suede bag is always an expensive and presentable type of product, top-level quality and a variety of beautiful shades. Therefore, accessories made from this material are so popular in the fashion world. The fair sex happily purchase bags of this kind and get great pleasure from owning such an attractive thing, while not knowing how to care for it.

In the sock, suede manifests itself as a strong and durable material, but over time, any stylish accessory gets dirty and loses its presentable appearance. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to visit a dry cleaner, where professionals will solve any problem, so folk methods and time-tested expert advice come into play, which rarely fail.

Light dirt can be removed with a special brush. It should be purchased before purchasing any suede item as it is the easiest method to get rid of various stains. It is made of rubber, and sometimes has a metal pile or the usual bristles.

An excellent anti-dirt agent is an eraser with which a simple pencil is rubbed. It is always at hand, and a few light movements will get rid of stains and even grease. For a light accessory, you should use a white eraser, but with dark shades, there shouldn't be any special problems.

This option is applicable only in very difficult cases, since you can completely ruin the fabric. Sandpaper movements should be slow, smooth and very gentle so that the skin stays in order after the procedure.

Salinity easily removes a special solution, which is easy to prepare at home. In equal parts is taken low-fat milk and baking soda, after which the ingredients are thoroughly mixed. The product is applied with a cotton swab to the fabric, and then gently cleaned with pressing movements.

The most common cleaning option is a soap solution, which contains any detergent (shampoo, gel, grated laundry soap) and lukewarm water. Application takes place with a foam sponge, which is slightly moistened in the solution and wrung out to remove excess liquid. You should rub the dirty places carefully, after which the soap residues are removed with a damp cloth.

A good helper in the fight against stubborn places is considered vinegar solution, which is made from the following calculation: 1 tablespoon of vinegar per 1 liter of running water. Its concentration should not exceed 9%.

For dark suede, coffee grounds are suitable, which are carefully applied to the product. Problematic areas seem to be rubbed out in a circular motion, and after drying, the rest of the grounds are removed with a brush.

It will also get rid of stains with a solution with ammonia (1 to 5), which is consistently applied to the necessary places with a soft bristle brush. It allows you to preserve color, does not give streaks and wears out on its own.

Many people use ammonia in the amount of 50 ml per 150 ml of water. It is applied, like other liquids, with a sponge or a napkin, you can take a microfiber cloth. Problem areas are actively wiped and left for ten minutes, after which they are washed off with a damp cloth. If necessary, the procedure is repeated, but the amount of ammonia will have to be increased by 20 ml for effectiveness.

Quite often, there are blood, grease, wine or coffee stains on the bags, in these cases many methods are ineffective, except for powders without fragrances. It can be talcum powder or baby powder, the main thing is the absence of unnecessary components in their composition in the form of perfume. The powder is gradually spread over the surface and remains there until its color changes. This indicates that the product works and absorbs dirt. It will have to be changed as needed until the stain is completely gone.

Traces of ice cream are well wiped off with an ordinary damp napkin, and then you need to walk over the product with a brush to "comb" the villi and give it its original look.

This will take a pot of water and a little time for it to heat up to the desired state. You just have to hold the bag over the steam, and then clean it with a rubber brush.

Gasoline is applicable not only as a fuel, but also as a cleaning component. Pure AI-95, AI-98 are quite suitableapplied with a lint-free cloth or cotton pad. In this state, the bag remains for 5-10 minutes, depending on the reaction, after which food salt is rubbed in. It takes time for it to absorb the fat and excess gasoline, but sometimes it has to be repeated. After all the manipulations, you should comb the pile.

All recommendations for the care of suede indicate that washing is unacceptable, especially with regard to the washing machine. Water deforms it greatly, the shade becomes faded, and the appearance loses its former gloss and charm. The bag can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but it will not withstand more because of the properties of the material.

Better to try the steam cleaning option, great if it is a powerful steam cleaner.

In order to get rid of salting, it is necessary to pre-soak the product. Brown stains, as well as black and blue blotches, are not very visible on dark suede, but they can also be easily removed using folk remedies. Soak a greasy stain in a soapy solution.

Removing dirt and stains from light-colored products is a difficult task that only a few products can cope with. Here, not only cleanliness is important, but also the subsequent whiteness, without which the thing will simply lose its appearance.

Instead of powder or talcum powder, experts advise using tooth powder, which is not inferior in efficiency to analogs, but at the same time retains whiteness. It is rubbed with fingers into the skin, left for half an hour, wrapping it all with cling film. This happens several times until the pollution disappears. The remains are simply shaken off or removed with a vacuum cleaner.

A solution of hydrogen peroxide and water is also suitable for this purpose, which is made in proportions of 1 to 4. It is quite simple to use, since it does not have to be washed off after cleaning. You just need to apply the product to problem areas, wet everything with napkins and leave to dry.

A separate word should be said about drying, because this is an important moment in the process of caring for suede products. Things should not be placed in the immediate vicinity of heating devices, in particular batteries, heaters, air conditioners and even a hair dryer. Sun exposure can also damage your favorite accessory., since it will lose its shape, and, possibly, slightly change its shade, in other words, it will "burn out" in the sun.

Despite the abundance of folk ways to clean a suede bag, this is a rather difficult process that takes a lot of time and effort. It is better to engage in preventive actions and properly care for the product so that later you do not suffer from the presence of stains. A few simple rules will help extend the life of the bag and keep it intact:

• There is no need to save on professional funds from such companies as Avel, Alive, Salton, Erdal.
• Eliminate harsh cleansers from your arsenal that can harm delicate skin.
• Moisture should not get on the product, and washing is completely excluded.
• The second step after cleaning is the application of water repellents.
• Drying takes place naturally, without the use of hot air.
• Pushing up and twisting leads to deformation of the shape.
• Before any cleaning procedure, you must first check the product on an inconspicuous piece of skin and observe the reaction so as not to completely ruin the thing. Not all cleaning methods are suitable for all types of suede.

A careful attitude, high-quality preventive procedures, a responsible approach to the choice of products are the basis of care that will allow the bag to last as long as possible and retain its original appearance for years.
