How to remove greasy stains from your jacket?
Outerwear often gets dirty, especially in bad weather. Stains from rain, snow and dirt are easily removed, they can be washed by hand or in a typewriter. But removing a greasy stain from clothes is not so easy. This requires a special approach. Detailed advice on how to remove fat from a jacket is presented in this material.
Cleaning methods
Jackets made of all types of fabrics very quickly absorb dirt, and they are very clearly manifested on the product, thereby spoiling the appearance of the clothes. Before proceeding with cleaning, be sure to carefully study the product tag, on which there is all the information about at what temperature and in what way the product can be cleaned.
Of course, it is best to start washing as soon as contamination is found. Fresh stains are much easier to remove than old ones.
Before starting cleaning or washing, you need to prepare the thing for this process. If the stain has just been planted, then blot it with a dry paper towel so that the grease does not have time to absorb into the fabric.... Do only a couple of dabbing strokes, but do not rub the stain, otherwise it will be strongly absorbed and become even larger.
As long as the stain is not too deeply embedded in the fabric, it can be quickly removed, for example, using the usual product that is found in every modern kitchen.
Even if you don't bake muffins or muffins, there is likely to be some basic baking soda in your kitchen cabinet. By the way, many housewives use it instead of dish detergent, since soda does an excellent job with fat. That is why the freshly obtained contamination should be sprinkled with baking soda powder and left for ten minutes. But do not try to scrub the stain with stasis, this will only make it worse.
As soon as the indicated time has passed, thoroughly clean the baking soda from the surface of the jacket with a brush. After that, you can wipe the place of contamination with a damp cloth, the stain should disappear right before your eyes. Soda can be replaced with talc.
If the stain was not obtained at home and the stain has already absorbed a little, then it can still be removed without washing the entire jacket. Take potato starch, dilute it with warm water. You should get a thick gruel, which should be applied directly to the stain. Leave the jacket like this for about half an hour, after which you need to clean its surface with a brush. You can wash your jacket if necessary.
There is one more correct, but not quite common remedy - this is toothpaste. Just keep in mind that the paste should be pure white, without additives, so as not to spoil the color of the bolognese jacket... The toothpaste should be applied to the dirt with the most common toothbrush in a circular motion. Then, as everything dries up, you need to clean the surface of the jacket and send the thing to the wash.
On light-colored items, stains of this kind can be removed with the help of ordinary lemon. It is enough to squeeze out its juice and apply it to the contaminated area. Once it is completely dry, the stain will disappear. So it is quite possible to get rid of stains without washing. But this applies only to those contaminants that did not have time to be strongly absorbed into the fabric, so they are easily removed. An old stain cannot be removed so easily.
Anti-aging agents
If it is impossible to get rid of the stain with the help of the above means, then you can try the usual gel, with which everyone washes the dishes every day. This product is designed to fight grease, so why not use it to clean your jacket? Apply the product directly to the stain, but do not rub it, just leave it there for 5-10 minutes. After that, boldly wash the product, if necessary, send it to the washing machine.
If, in addition to grease stains, there are other contaminants, then you can mix such a gel with powder, make a thick mixture, which should then be applied to the jacket. We also leave for ten minutes, no more, then erase.
There is another effective method that can be called the "grandmother's" way. To do this, you need the most common laundry soap. Only the soap needs dark brown, which were sold before, and not the newfangled one with aromatic additives and dyes.
In a convenient container, you need to take hot water and rub laundry soap there. This can be done using a regular coarse grater. Dissolve the soap completely in water to create a thick soapy solution. Then immerse the jacket in there and leave it on for 20 minutes. After that, you can wash the product in the washing machine or by hand. This method helps not only fight grease stains, but also other types of dirt.
Another remedy worth trying is mustard powder. It will also help get rid of this type of contamination. To do this, you need to dilute the powder (about one tablespoon) in 100 ml of hot water. Using a regular sponge, the product should be applied to problem areas, but not rubbed, leave it for half an hour, and then wash it off.
Plain table vinegar can also help alleviate this problem. It is enough to treat the old stain with a cotton pad and vinegar before the main wash, and the stain will disappear after washing. Just remember about safety measures, namely about the concentration of vinegar. This should be table vinegar, which is used in food without dilution.
Also, you can mix vinegar and regular washing powder to make a gruel that should be applied to the problem area. Leave the mixture for ten minutes, and then wash the thing. This will help remove even old stains from the jacket.
The most effective and powerful remedy is the following mixture, which will help get rid of even very old stains.Take three tablespoons of alcohol, one teaspoon of ammonia, one tablespoon of gasoline and mix everything thoroughly in a glass container with a tightly closed lid. The resulting composition can be applied to problem areas and left for half an hour.
If you decide to wash your jacket in the washing machine, it is recommended to do this only in a special mode designed for washing outerwear. If there is no such mode, then you can choose a delicate or hand wash mode. Thus, the product will not be damaged.
As for the use of stain removers and bleaches, you should be careful with them. If the product is intended exclusively for white linen, then you can completely ruin the appearance of a darker jacket. Therefore, it is best to use one of the above cleaning methods, and then wash as usual with your usual powder.
