Choosing the right equipment for any sport is very important. Only with the use of the right clothes can a person go horseback riding with maximum comfort and benefit.

Comfort

Each equestrian sport differs in the variability of movement, exercise and muscle involved. Horseback riding is a rather complex and specific activity. It involves frequent repetitions of the same movements on the horse and can contribute to injury.

While horseback riding, the following are common injuries:

  • corns;
  • rubbing that will bleed, create discomfort and greatly interfere with further activities;
  • dislocations - they can happen on the joints due to too tight clothing or due to injury while working with an animal;
  • all kinds of skin lesions when a sweaty body comes into contact with poor-quality tissue materials.

    In order to avoid this kind of embarrassment, special options for uniforms were invented.

    Peculiarities

    Don't think that equestrian clothing should look awkward or inelegant. Her choice is incredibly huge, and even the most sophisticated mod will be able to find the option that will suit him according to his tastes and parameters. Manufacturing materials, tailoring options, clothing styles, ease of use - all of this is presented in a huge assortment. First of all, clothes must be sewn with high quality. This means the absence of all sorts of rubbing seams and other elements that interfere with the correct use of clothing. In addition, things should not hinder movement, but be free so as not to injure the joints.

    The sleeves of such clothes should be long so as not to scratch hands, but at the same time have the exact size of the buyer.

    For equestrian sports, it is better to choose dark clothes, because the animal can be dirty, or the rider can simply fall off the horse. With regard to convenience, there is another important rule: the less fasteners and other fastening elements of all kinds, the better. Indeed, with sudden movements, any button can fly off, and the loop can break out. For this reason, it is best to wear suits without clutches and choose the most stretchy, elastic materials.

    Grouping costumes

    As you know, there are two types of activities associated with equestrian sports. An inexperienced simple spectator sees beautiful races, tricks, driving - these are spectacles. The second type of activity is also important - cleaning and other not the most interesting work in the stable. Each option has its own clothing. It must be convenient in both cases, but in one case, external accuracy is important, and in the other, resistance to dirt.

    Which one to choose?

    Those people who do not perform anywhere, but only train, may not acquire "day off" clothes - it will be enough for them to have:

    • special pants for riding;
    • T-shirt, shirt, racing sweater;
    • pants for work and preparation;
    • gloves for work, training (several pairs are better);
    • an insulating vest and a fall protection vest;
    • a strong special helmet is required;
    • a jacket - sometimes this is very important and useful, for example, when it is cold;
    • special riding shoes.

    If a person is a sufficiently trained specialist and performs, then it is better for him to have another set of clothes for this. In the first place is the beauty of appearance. Perhaps it is worth adding a tie, a jacket and a beautiful headdress to the image - this image looks very impressive.

    Helmet

    A helmet in racing, and in any other sport, is a very important safety attribute. Head protection occurs not only in case of an accident, because it can be damaged without even falling off the horse. For example, if a horse slows down sharply or stands on its hind legs, then you may simply not have time to orient yourself and hurt your head. Jockey is the name of a helmet designed to protect a person from unforeseen situations. It must be in size and not put pressure anywhere, especially on the neck. This hat is used in almost all situations, regardless of whether it is a competition or just a training session.

    Costume

    First of all, it is important to know that a special beautiful jacket is called a dressing jacket, and it has long been used as outerwear. The fabric is dense and beautiful, and the collar is completely made of velvet. It looks impressive and goes very well with the image of the rider.

    Women's dress

    It is only nowadays that the male and female versions of the suit are not much different. In centuries past, a riding suit for women looked very elegant. They can be seen, for example, in old paintings. One of the most striking costume options is called the Amazon. It is a jacket, "poured" into the body and beautifully emphasizing the woman's waist, and a wide long skirt to the floor.

    Such clothes looked similar for many years until they were transformed into a one-piece dress, complemented by a beautiful hat and gloves. The costume has slightly changed, but the name and beauty has not lost.

    Pants

    One of the key elements of equestrian sports is pants. These will be either beautiful trousers, or their slightly modified version - breeches, which is much preferable. Do not think that this item can save money by using any casual pants. In addition to their exceptional elasticity, which allows the rider to comfortably hold the legs outstretched, they provide safety. The breeches are made in such a way that their owner can sit on the horse even during shakes.This is achieved with the help of special inserts that cling to the horse's coat or saddle cover, additionally holding the rider in place.

    In addition, an important factor in favor of choosing professional breeches is their sewing. There are no seams at all in this type of clothing.

    Hand protection

    In addition to aesthetics, elegant gloves perform an important protective function, because riding is always about contact with ropes and reins, which is an easy way to rubbed skin. To keep them comfortable and not painful, the gloves have a special coating. Gloves are different. There are quite a few of them on sale, and the whole choice is based only on personal aesthetic and functional preferences. There are cotton gloves that are pleasant to the touch. There are also options that additionally keep out the cold, or models designed specifically for performances. In addition, no one excludes simple work gloves, in which all preparatory work is provided.

    Additional protection

    If a person often comes into contact with water, bad weather conditions or cold, then he can additionally purchase a protective vest. It is intended for use over any other clothing and protects the bronchi and lungs from hypothermia in a headwind.

    Useful Tips

    1. You should not choose clothes for riding with clasps. If such clothing is already available, it should always be worn buttoned, as horses may be intimidated by open edges developing in the wind.
    2. You should not choose clothes made of noisy material - horses do not accept loud rustling.
    3. Clothing must be of the correct size and suitable for the surrounding weather conditions.
    4. If possible, long hair should be tied up or at least hidden under a helmet.
    5. You should not choose special clothing in too bright colors. Any bright color can be an irritant for an animal - this also applies to sounds. For this reason, it is worth wearing things in a calm tone, thereby minimizing the chances of anger or fear in the horse.
