When mentioning transferable tattoos, many people mistakenly imagine translation pictures with inserts made of chewing gum, which stay on the skin for at least a couple of hours and can be easily washed off with plain water. However, these are completely different products, and today we will tell you about really high-quality and long-lasting tattoo transfers.

What is it and how is it done?

So, a transfer tattoo is a picture applied with special paints on a paper backing and covered with a protective film on top. It is easily and quickly transferred to the skin, lasts about 7 days with proper care. Does not cause allergic reactions.

Consider the stages of tattoo sticker production.

  • Making a layout and preparing for printing. First of all, the artist creates an image directly, which will act as a wearable pattern, and finalizes it taking into account the technical parameters of the print.
  • Further, in order to understand how this drawing will look on the body, so-called signal samples are produced. This stage allows you to see the flaws in the work and make the appropriate changes before the main circulation is put into print.
  • If everything is in order (the edits are made, the picture is fine), the image is printed on special paper for transferable tattoos. The color scheme for printing is selected strictly according to the layout.
  • After that, if the idea so requires, another device applies dyes with certain effects: glowing in UV rays, aromatic, etc.
  • Next comes the application of the adhesive.
  • The next step is to protect the finished picture with a special film. This is necessary to preserve the original appearance of the image.
  • Since tattoo transfers are printed on large sheets of paper in groups, they are cut individually and packaged.

For some of them, conscientious manufacturers attach instructions for use.

Advantages and disadvantages

Of course, like any other product, tattoo stickers have their advantages and disadvantages. Let's get acquainted with them. Let's start by tradition with the good.

  • In order to apply such a tattoo, a couple of minutes at home are enough. It is neither painful nor traumatic.
  • Pictures are presented in a huge assortment, in addition, many manufacturers perform exclusive tattoos to order, taking into account all the client's requirements.
  • They stay on the skin for 7-14 days, and then they are washed off, leaving not the slightest trace, and even more so scars.
  • The instructions for use are so simple that even a child can figure it out.
  • Translation tattoos are famous for their rich, rich colors (although, of course, there are monochrome options, but even the black color in them is somehow especially bright). Their spectacular appearance attracts the attention of those around them.
  • An important plus is the cost of the tattoo. If you pay a big sum for a classic tattoo, then a tattoo-translation of a similar appearance will cost ten times cheaper.
  • You can change the pictures and their location as you like.

Another criterion that deserves attention is environmental friendliness. The dyes used in the production of tattoo stickers are absolutely safe for the skin.

Let's add a fly in the ointment to such positive characteristics:

  • while wearing a transferable tattoo, you will have to give up beaches and tanning salons, playing sports, going to the sauna, swimming;
  • due to its excessive brightness, such a tattoo may look somewhat unnatural, shine in the sun;
  • when the period of stay of the picture on the skin comes to an end, the tattoo may begin to peel off in pieces, unevenly, if you do not remove it yourself.

Who are the tattoo stickers for?

There are several categories of people for whom tattoo transfers are recommended:

  • those who are thinking about whether to get a real tattoo, or who have doubts about the choice of a sketch;
  • people who often like to experiment with their appearance - they will especially like the opportunity to change the picture and its location;
  • those who, according to medical indications, cannot get a classic tattoo;
  • adolescents - there is no taboo on tattoo stickers for them;
  • children, for example, to any event or holiday (of course, it is better not to come to school and kindergarten with a tattoo);
  • people who want to create a special image for a photo shoot or themed celebration.

What are they?

We can talk endlessly about the variety of transferable tattoos. So, a recent, but already very popular "feature" has become tattoos imitating ... eyebrows or freckles! The "pioneers" of this trend are the beauty bloggers of the TikTok platform. Manufacturers did not stand aside and launched corresponding products on the market.

3D and 4D stickers with imitation of hairs are great as an experiment for girls who have problems with eyebrows and are thinking about microblading. Well, cute freckles suit everyone. By the way, there are not only their natural "sunny" variations, but also brilliant, in the form of a scattering of stars or just small dots.

As for the gender of such tattoos, those who wish can easily find both purely female and male options, as well as unisex drawings. Girls, as a rule, choose images of flowers, butterflies, cats, chanterelles, wise owls, dream catchers. They are also impressed by various small inscriptions in foreign languages. Guys prefer more brutal themes: predatory wolves, bears and lions, skulls, dragons, pirates and everything connected with them, rock guitars, motorcycles, cars.

Fans of popular sagas such as "Harry Potter", "The Lord of the Rings" or "Game of Thrones" also do not stand aside. For them, there is also a very large selection of images with characters or artifacts of their favorite universe.

Popular manufacturers

The following brands are the best today.

  • Miami Tattoos (Miamitats). The company was founded in 2015 and quickly won the love of consumers. Its success can be easily explained: excellent product quality, original design options, collaboration with young creative illustrators who create unique images in different styles. Collections are updated monthly.

By the way, it was Miamitats who first started producing freckle tattoos.

  • 2SKIN. Another promising young company. Their drawings are unusual in their execution: for example, it can be an elegant piece of paper drawn with photographic accuracy, and next to it - a cry-phrase in an incomprehensible language.
  • RUTATU. Create high quality, yet inexpensive, transferable tattoos. In the collection you can find exotic animals, flowers as if painted with watercolors, patterns glowing in the dark.

Where to apply?

In fact, anywhere. It is not recommended only to apply it under the eyes, as the skin there is especially thin and sensitive, and there may be some discomfort from being under the “non-breathing” picture.

Consider the most popular tattoo locations.

  • Wrist. Perhaps the most common option. You can use the zone of only one of them, or both at once. However, when applying a tattoo to this particular location, one nuance should be taken into account: if the picture falls into the place where the brush is folded, it will be erased very quickly. It is also undesirable to wear long sleeves while wearing.
  • Fingers. You can buy a tattoo that imitates a bracelet, cut it into segments and get phalanx rings in this way. They look great. But here, too, you need to be very careful and avoid applying to the folds of the fingers.
  • Hands. It is best to choose small images for placement in this area. This location is good because, firstly, it is always in sight, and secondly, the pictures on the back of the hands always last longer than on other parts of the body.
  • Forearm. Another beneficial area for temporary tattoo placement. It will help emphasize the grace of a woman's hand or the brutality of a man's bicep. You can choose a larger pattern or a combination of them, glue the arm up to the shoulder and get a full-fledged "sleeve".
  • Breast. For this location, special patterns have been created - symmetrical "necklaces". But this option is most often chosen by girls. A man, on the other hand, can place any drawing he likes in the chest area, preferably large, bright. Many people put temporary tattoos on their chest before going to the resort, where they can be shown in all their glory (although, as we remember, swimming and sunbathing with them is undesirable).
  • Back. Again, this area is often chosen by people going on vacation or going to a party that involves an open evening outfit. It is unlikely that someone wants to glue a tattoo where no one (even the wearer himself) will see it.
  • Legs, especially ankles. Most often, girls choose, and they stick bracelets or small monochrome patterns there.
  • Unusual locations: face, ears, inner side of fingers, neck. Tattoos in such places can be seen by creative individuals who still want to "try on" the chosen temporary pattern to their image. Still, not everyone dares to get a classic tattoo on the face or the front of the neck - only people without complexes who do not care about the surprised and often condemning glances of passers-by.

How to glue on the body?

Now let's look at how to properly translate tattoos.

So, here's what you need:

  • the tattoo sticker itself;
  • cotton pads or soft cosmetic wipes;
  • warm water;
  • Body Scrub;
  • alcohol-based lotion.

The work algorithm will help to cope with the task faster.

  • Thoroughly cleanse the skin where you plan to place your temporary tattoo. To do this, treat the selected area with a scrub: it will remove the keratinized particles of the epidermis and enhance the adhesion of the sticker to the skin surface. Next, rinse off the scrubbing compound, wipe the skin dry, treat with lotion for additional degreasing. Do not use cream.
  • If there is excess "vegetation" in the selected area, then it is best to get rid of it. This is an optional step, however, the picture, firstly, will "grip" more strongly with absolutely smooth skin, and secondly, these are purely aesthetic considerations - the tattoo is unlikely to look beautiful on a hairy arm or leg.
  • Let's move on to tattooing. Carefully peel off the protective film from the sticker. Proceed very carefully - it is important not to spoil the drawing itself, which remains on the paper backing.
  • Place the tattoo face down on your skin. By the way, at this stage you can still change the position of the picture. Place it so that it looks as beneficial and attractive as possible. Now try not to move the image anymore.
  • Wet a sponge or napkin with warm water, gently attach it to the paper base of the tattoo. Make sure the sponge is straight wet, not just slightly damp. Use this sponge to firmly press the sticker down. Without moving your hand, or napkin, or paper, hold on for 30 seconds. The base paper should be blotted evenly.
  • Very carefully detach the backing from the translated image. The larger the drawing, the more delicately you will have to act so as not to spoil the resulting tattoo. Now it is still wet, and it will turn out to be slightly corrected, for example, to smooth out small folds (if any). When you are sure that everything is in order, and the tattoo is positioned as it should, with very light blotting movements, treat the design with a soft tissue to remove excess moisture.

What to do to make the tattoo last longer?

The tattoo has been applied, and now you need to properly care for it in order to extend its life. The following tips will help you:

  • for a while, stop using scrubs, rough washcloths, peels;
  • do not apply alcohol-containing liquids to the tattooed area;
  • you can wash, but you should not stretch the bathing procedure for a long time;
  • if you still decide to swim, first lubricate the picture with oil;
  • reschedule sports or workouts in the gym for another time - the fact is that sweat can have a detrimental effect on the transfer tattoo, and it will quickly peel off and become unattractive.

We will give one more recommendation, not concerning care, but very important: before applying any pattern to the body, ask about its meaning. Each tattoo carries a certain message, a meaning that should match your worldview.
