Advantages and disadvantages

The mehendi technique is popular all over the world. This is not surprising, because designs applied to the skin with henna have many advantages.

  • Practicality. Henna tattoos can be done both in a specialized salon and at home. Even a novice master can easily cope with this process. You can facilitate the procedure by purchasing a ready-made mass for painting the body.
  • Security. To create such patterns, high-quality natural henna is used. All its components are absolutely safe for health. There are no essential oils in quality pastes. Therefore, they do not cause an allergic reaction.
  • Versatility. Henna tattoos can be either large or very small. Finding the right pattern is very easy.
  • Originality. Body drawings made with henna are popular with both very young children and adolescents. They look realistic and interesting.

Henna tattoos do not need any extra care. They wash off rather quickly.

This means that the selected drawing will not have time to bore the child.

Drawing options

There are many interesting tattoo ideas out there using color paste. The most popular among young children are various light pictures.

Superhero sign

Such tattoos are popular among children who are fond of superhero films.A tattoo with the Superman emblem does not take up much space and looks beautiful on the arm. The pattern can be complemented by small wings or dots. Such an original tattoo will constantly remind the kid about his favorite superhero.

Flowers

Flower tattoos are popular among girls. They look like classic oriental wearables. To decorate the body, you can use drawings of roses, daisies, lilies or simple field plants.

Often, such images are complemented with patterns that are suitable in style. They are composed of fine lines, curls and dots.

Paw prints

Little animal lovers will love the cat or dog paw prints tattoo. Most often, such wearable designs are placed on the arm or ankle. They look cute and funny.

You can draw them even without using stencils.

Dog

For a child 5-6 years old, you can choose a more complex drawing. On the forearm or wrist, the image of a cute dog or cat from your favorite cartoon will look beautiful. To make the drawing look natural and beautiful, it should be made not too small. Otherwise, the tattoo will blur and turn out to be sloppy.

Anchor

Lovers of the marine theme will love tattoos with anchors or ships. Such drawings are simple to perform. They are suitable for both boys and girls.

Small outline drawings with anchors can be combined with other symbols to create interesting, thoughtful compositions.

Butterfly

Little girls love tattoos with three-dimensional butterflies. Such drawings made with henna always cheer you up. They can be either contour or supplemented with thin lines or dots. The design features of a tattoo depend on its size.

Crown

You can delight young princesses by decorating their bodies with a crown pattern. These tattoos are usually placed on the neck, wrist or legs. The thematic drawing can be supplemented with any simple inscription. Most often, the name of the owner of the tattoo is written under the mini-picture.

You need to apply the inscription on the skin carefully using a thin wooden stick.

Lizard

The drawing of a lizard, consisting of simple patterns, will also look interesting on the body. Such a tattoo is a symbol of dexterity and the ability to adapt to any situation. Lizard tattoos are most often stuffed on the arms or legs. After all, there is enough space for large elongated drawings.

It is always worth choosing a sketch for a future tattoo with your child. In this case, the baby will definitely be pleased with the pattern selected for him.

Henna selection

For the application of children's tattoos, you need to use only high-quality henna. When choosing it, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • shelf life of the product and features of its storage;
  • manufacturing company;
  • features of using the finished product.

It is also important to consider in which region the product used to create the tattoo was produced. So, African henna is used to create patterns in red. This paste is suitable for creating delicate designs with fine lines. Brown tattoos are painted using Persian henna.

It should be remembered that the color of the future pattern largely depends on the individual characteristics of the skin.

Therefore, in some cases, tattoos do not look as bright as we would like.

How to apply a tattoo correctly?

Having decided on the choice of henna, you can proceed to the process of creating unique patterns. First you need to prepare the pasta. It can be bought in advance or made at home from powder. To create a coloring mass, you need a bag of dry henna, a little lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar.

To make the future drawing darker, you can add a strong infusion from black tea to a bowl of dry mass.

All these ingredients are mixed gently. After that, the paste is infused in a warm place for 12 hours.

After the required amount of time has passed, you can move on to creating tattoo masterpieces. This process consists of several stages.

  1. First, the skin needs to be well cleaned and treated with a high-quality antiseptic. Stir the paste with a wooden stick. This is done so that the mass becomes homogeneous.
  2. After that, a stencil should be prepared. To do this, you need to select an interesting drawing, print it and transfer it to thick cardboard using tracing paper. It should be smooth and neat. Next, using scissors, you need to remove all unnecessary details.
  3. The resulting template must be attached to the selected location. A paste prepared in advance is applied to the body. To do this, you can use a wooden stick or an unnecessary paintbrush. It is worth remembering that the thicker the paint layer, the brighter the finished drawing will turn out. If something goes wrong in the process, some of the paste can be easily removed using a damp cotton pad. This should be done quickly, until the paint has left a mark on the skin.
  4. Next, you need to leave the drawing alone, waiting for it to dry completely. This process usually takes 40 to 60 minutes.
  5. After that, the stencil is removed. The drawing must be left intact for another hour. To prevent it from smearing and losing its attractiveness, it is carefully wrapped with cling film. If possible, the drawing can be left in this form overnight.
  6. When the paste is completely dry, it must be removed from the body using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use a brush or wet cloth to remove henna. This will make the tattoo look less flamboyant. After that, it is advisable not to wet the drawing for a few more hours. If desired, it can be additionally coated with coconut or almond oil. This will make the tattoo more durable. But before that, you need to make sure that the child is not allergic to the oil.

A drawing made using the mehendi technique is a great alternative to standard tattoos. This image lasts on the skin from a week to a month.

Over time, the pattern is completely washed out. That is why tattoos are so popular among children.
