• Yew boards. Yew has a very hard wood. Burning out on such a tree will take quite a long amount of time, but at the same time, you can get large images with a lot of small details.

• Chestnut. This wood is similar in color to elm. But at the same time it is much softer, so it is easy to burn various pictures on chestnut products.

• Maple. This breed has a beautiful color and natural pattern. Its surface is easy to burn.

• Pears. Pear wood is most often dark in color, but it is also sometimes used for burning. With the help of sandpaper, the surface of the boards is made absolutely smooth. When creating a picture, it will take a long time to create contrast on a dark base. It is better to form a drawing with large and thick lines. The shading in the background will simply be invisible.

• Spruce. The wood has a very light shade. All drawings will look as contrasting as possible on the canvas. But, as a rule, on the surface of the material there are a large number of small knots that are difficult to remove, so the process of applying a picture can be difficult. Also, this breed is quite hard and resinous. The board will need to be carefully processed and dried beforehand.

Plain plywood is often used for burning. You can buy it in any construction market. But you will have to cut it into pieces of the size you need. This material has a relatively low price. In addition, it does not contain various resins and adhesives.

Chipboard with veneer is similar in appearance to elm. The base, after careful processing with sandpaper, becomes absolutely smooth and suitable for creating patterns.

Such boards can also be either simple (without a picture), or with an already applied contour image. The second option will be the most suitable for beginners, as it greatly simplifies the process of drawing a picture. The scheme can be made in the form of a variety of drawings (animals, floral ornament, cartoon characters).

Before purchasing a board for such an activity, you should pay special attention to some important nuances. So, find out in advance what kind of wood the base is made of. The best option would be a light wood with a uniform structure. Such products can be perfect for beginners as well, they make it easy to create beautiful pictures with a lot of even and neat details.

Check that the surface of the product is completely smooth. Otherwise, drawing will be extremely difficult. Also, make sure that there are no rotted areas or chips on it.
